Castlevania Season 2 Recap
Season 2 ended with the Dracula dead and Alucard claiming the castle for himself. He sat in the halls of the area sobbing, finally able to understand the despair that Dracula was going through.
The pieces slowly started to fall into place in terms of the side characters but this aesthetic of despair is definitely the main driving force of the third entry.
Lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely
The season opens with Alucard trying to get adjusted to the lonely and isolated life that he will now be leading. I kinda got flashes of Thanos in Avengers Endgame from these scenes and similar to the Mad Titan Alucard has been left with little purpose after completing his goal.
Losing his mind he’s made puppets of Trevor and Sypha who we join on the road hunting monsters.
Season 3 really starts off showing the humanity of the characters and how loss ultimately comes from a win. Victory leads to a lack of purpose and our three main leads just feel like they’re existing rather than achieving something.
It’s a unique way to kick start the season but they all quickly gain a reason to come back after they arrive in Lindefeld.
I’ll discuss the ins and outs of this later but it’s where they spend the majority of their time and also it becomes instrumental at the end of the show. Here they meet a mysterious Count, the monks of the priory, most notably their leader Sala and a character known as the Judge that recruits them.
Something is very off about the town and the number of missing Children there makes it seem very…well…strange.
The Rise Of Carmilla
In the wake of the power vacuum left behind by Dracula’s demise, everything is up in the air.
Carmilla returns this time joined by her sisters Lenore, Morana, and Striga. They seek to ravage the land which now looks like it’s theirs for the taking.
They hold Hector captive and though they are left with little to do in the overall ten episodes, their military planning will definitely come to pay off further down the line I feel.
Lenore gains his trust and it’s brilliant watching the complexities of the three-dimensional chess being played out by all characters in the show.
They wish to use Hector to raise an army for them and I loved watching them manipulate him into gaining Stockholm syndrome and trusting them.
Castlevania Season 3 Ending Explained Netflix Spoiler talk review predictions trailer alucard trevor Sypha season 4 4k
He pledges his life to Lenore and during one of the seasons…let’s say more intimate moments, Lenore slips a ring on his finger. She gives ones that have the ability to control the wearer of this ring to her sister and now through his forge master abilities they can raise a new army of demons to enact their plans.
Season 2 teased Carmilla becoming the new big bad and she was clearly going against the grain of what was expected from the society that she existed in.

Hey everyone, our breakdown of Season 4 is now at - th-cam.com/video/jiIcJgJS3ik/w-d-xo.html
ty :')
Out of the character arcs shown:
Alucard: Betrayed, traumatized, forced to kill two friends, lost any sense of hope and desire for companionship as he shuts himself away even further, bitter from how things played out.
Sypha: Had life go from great to horrible in the span of a few hours, found out her friend was a serial killer, took a level in cynic, probably nowhere as enthusiastic about life as she used to be.
Trevor: Shares Sypha's pain, relives the awful familiarity of his previous life.
Hector: Heartbroken, enslaved, slowly going crazy, confirmed his fear of just being a pet to the vampires.
Isaac: "Yo, I'm doing GREAT."
Wow, Isacc is really living the life there. Huh?
@@manuelalbertoromero9528 I will say, though, it's kind of tragic that he gave up on himself; despite realizing first hand that not everyone is a bad person, he ultimately couldn't escape his hatred and chose the path of evil.
Keenan Johnson idk if he still aims to kill all humans after I mean he went and checked on the old lady if she’s ok after he beat the wizard. Still 50-50
Great Ninja Issac is basically an example of the person a cruel world can create. I think a lot of his arc is finding himself and what he truly believes in. His conversation with the Fly demon was there to demonstrate that even a "sinless" person can be made to sin by the cruel world. Juxtaposed with the one's who led him to sin, Christians who are supposedly supposed to uphold kindness and love.
But as Issac is an example of what a cruel world can create I think his arc will lead him to show what just an ounce of kindness in the world can create. After all like the old captain said if you get rid of humanity you get rid of all the tyranny but you also get rid of all the kindness.
Maybe that's just me being hopeful though lol.
I know, right!? XD
The judge basically did a grotesque "clear my browsing history"
Always murder your victims in incognito mode is the lesson here.
bigdinoguy my thoughts exactly lol
The judge death felt forced. Why he just stood there?
I binge watch this third season and I overall enjoyed it, unlike some of those 9.5 rating thats slow and depressing to watch with a lot of potholes cough The Protector.
Here are some loopholes on my favorite show.
Alucard friends betrayal felt forced.
They seem pretty fun at the beginning, where they try to bound with Alucard. You can see them sympathizing and understanding what Alucard had gone through for slaying Dracula, but no reward for his efforts. So they come up with a fantastic plan, reward him with a night of pleasures.
The show suddenly changed their mind and make Taka and Suni able to used magic and summon silver chains that bind Alucard by itself to his bed.
Trevor and Sypha's battling all those monsters in a tiny hall without being kill is quite fun to watch, particularly going up against a Llama archer and flying lamb with eyes on it backs and wings.
I'm still wondering how did the monster with neon light as eyes get trapped and able to communicate with the man who put it there?
condorX2 I’m pretty sure the judge has lost everything at this point and has nothing more to lose, that’s *probably* why he wasn’t so bothered about dying
He’s death the biggest clue is the one who speaks amongst Issacs demon ranks told him a story about being a philosopher in Athens and his encounter with one called Judge. Also the Apple tree is super symbolic
Everyone else: *dealing with death, betrayal, enslavement, tragedy*
Isaac and his monsties: *just vibin*
he is eating meat by the fire and all these human-hungry demons from hell are just chillin around him, watching him eat and talk to an ex philosopher. Good demons, good!
*beasties
Isaac never loses his cool, such a great character
@@iWumbow hector if you played Castlevania Curse of Darkness for Xbox(1st gen) he supposed to be more powerful than Issac and a great character too but, Idk why in this series they picture Hector as a stupid human with weak feelings and make him look less powerful :/
Isaac is my favorite character
Alucard deserves better how many times are we going to see him break down in tears??
I seriously think Alucard is going to start to become like Dracula or maybe get close but then realize who he is becoming. You can see he starts off pure but then near the end of S3 you see he becomes more bitter.
My poor baby Q-Q
Justin I do too but I really hope he doesn’t , I was also kinda sad that neither Sypha or Trevor even mention him at all this season
softmoon ik it broke my heart
@@softmoonangel They do mention him, just not by name.
When Trevor says "does he remind you of someone" when they're talking about how lonely Saint Germain must be.
To me Isaac really stole the show his path of returning and interacting with reasonable people and bastards almost like redemption at this point
Yeah he was so good, incredible character
Hardly , he is more of an idiot who the plot wanted him to meet a few deus ex machina characters. Basicaly the creators are favoring him.
I didn't understand his character arc all the way.
@@normandy2501
He just met with weirdos and normal people. Or do you think letting a legion from hell pass through a populated area smth that is easy to agree to?
@@normandy2501
Like OG Hector did? If you think about it his path is similar to Hector's only that he is a psychopath with vile motives.
I was so happy when Alucard had friends, i was like 'awww he's gunna adopt them!' Then epsiode 10 punched me in the gut
Ironically, they tried to "adopt him" in Lenore's weird way
Murasaki Renea swear
That fucking true as hell i goddanm sickening
There were signs of that earlier. Subtle signs.

Hector: does something stupid
My Dumb Ass: I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU. HOW DARE YOU. *LEARN SOMETHING FROM THIS*
Hahahahaha!
I never rooted for that dumb fuck seriously
Me too, I liked Hector. He struck me as a booksmart, naive guy, who was profoundly damaged.
Matthulhu Welp, to bad he’s now made the exact same mistake twice in a row and as gotten nowhere
@@Chester-mz2ep he's still a naive boy upstairs. He never got over his childhood and just yearns for acceptance. I do agree he needs to cut the shit though but I understand why he keeps fucking up.
The story with Isaac and the Captain at sea was my favorite part of the season. Listening to their dialogue, banter, and philosophy was like drinking a fine wine.
I hope that Captain is Grant Danasty, seriously though he had such a wise mentality as well as polite attitude for Isaac, and probably dangerous if he gets serious. Idk we need more character development lol
Isaac had the best character development in this season. He encountered a lot of interesting people in this season. Everyone else was feeling in the gap.
Fax he was speaking truth
Whoa th-cam.com/video/kDcZsDxGzUQ/w-d-xo.html season 3 spoilers!!!
Yes the writing was great! Also a highlight for me was Isaac vs the magician. Such an epic battle! I’ve been rootin for Isaac since day one
Hector better have the craziest vengeance in entertainment history
Meminist Asshole 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣yes i hope so with his dumbass
He wanted to help Dracula subjugate all of humanity, and now he is being subjugated by vampires himself.
This is what his character wanted right?
At least he’s getting laid she’s hooking a homie up went from shitty jail cell to personal pet sex slave
bruh I was facepalming at how he was slowly gaining trust in Lenore. He brought it upon himself but I’m intrigued to see the result
@@ariacanonsonata I feel like he is destined to become a powerful vampire himself
I have a feeling that the rings Lenore gave to her sisters, are actually the same as Hector's. So eventually she'll gain the most control out of all of this.
Yellowish Green Dragon .-. She won’t take control unless it was necessary. If she wanted power she could have taken it along time ago
@@thebettymonster4851 I think she's taking her time and waiting for the right moment to betray them. She has the most control over the situation as it it. She has every reason to manipulate the others to gain power.
@@yellowishgreendragon.-. no offense your theory doesnt make much sense. The reason why the sisterhood formed was to get away from power hungry insane old men, and you suspect that lenore is the same?. They all have similar stories where they were abused in the past and even Carmilla still has nightmares about it, they bonded over that trauma. Bonds like that don't break very easily especially not for the sake of power. Lenore has no real reason to betray her sisterhood, that is within character currently in the story (though that can change). In fact she may be the last one to actually betray based on what we know of her. She apparently tore through the castle looking for a splint small enough for a spider with a broken leg, A FUCKING SPIDER!!!! Imagine what she would do for her sisters, probably burn the world and freeze over hell.
The only instance where I can see her betraying them slightly is because they promised something to her and didn't keep it. Such as Striga torturing Hector by gouging out his eyes because he was being stupid OR because they took over the lands and no longer need him. Lenore would take personal offense to this because 1) she made the sisterhood promise Hector a comfortable life and she keeps her promises (this is based on what I've seen of her) , 2) she likes his pretty face, 3) Hector is her pet her property her responsibility so she'll probably would pseudo betray and undo the bind ring that she has on him or have a cat fight with them that carmilla has to break up.
And how does she have more control over the situation when the rings give the sisters equal "loyalty" over hector?
@@thebettymonster4851 Camellia and Dracula weren't above manipulating others. Who's to say Lenore wouldn't do the same. She's already done so with Hector.
@@thebettymonster4851 Exactly. The Sisterhood betraying each other would be out of character from what's been established about them,Especially Carmilla & Lenore. I really don't get why people keep saying Lenore will betray them,it really makes no sense.
Hector may cut of his finger(If he can) & flip out with his army of demons.
Shoutout the captain that talked his way out of getting devoured by demons, found a way to get paid AND seemingly convinced issac to reconsider killing everything
Not only that he made sure the crew and the demon got along too. Man Issac the only character I'm really rooting for

I was so pissed when I saw what Judge did. I really thought he was a good guy
A human manipulated and betrayed by a vampire. And a half-vampire manipulated and betrayed by humans.
Right? Also mirrored by experiencing betrayel after being thrown in to sex.
Sex, the most vulnerable and intimate act was the thing used to betray them.
okay, that observation makes me at ease. I can stop researching and looking at reviews. Everyone is all up in arms about Hector but Alucard was nothing but nice after just missing people and wanting to teach or be kind. Hector had 3 nice dates with a collar on...not even all dates with shoes or a free neck from a collar, and he just rushes into sex the date after he gets a book and bed. If i got a bad beating like the one he got when he first met her from anyone, i wouldn't be so quick to jump into bed. That was his own fault for thinking with...his other brain. Poor Alucard :'(. so shook he's crying in his childhood bedroom where he also murdered his father and saw memories of his mother...just wanting that love and innocence again. Why is no one caring about that :( AHHHH. anyway, i'm done. Thanks !!!
Basically the whole season 3 lol
Never leave a man alone in a big ass house. Give him a cleaning staff or something. Dude needs company. At least give him one hell of a butler.
Everyone needs one hell of a butler, life would be so much better. I need to make a contract now
TimelyTwitch will it be worth it in the end? If I remember right; after the contract is fulfilled that’s when you have to pay up.
I'd say a dog would accomplish the same goal of companionship and love

I never trusted Sumi and Taka, I said halfway through "I hope they don't betray him'' and they did. I laughed at what happened to them tho and I felt sad for Alucard.
Same. I really wished they didn't betray him, that was tragic asf. But also Lindenfeld is tragic asf too
Seriously though I wanted to trust them so bad but during the threesome scene I was like “ they better not pull a flippin knife out” uGh I feel so bad for Adrian
I thought Alucard was gonna be a mom to those two. You know, take care of them, teach them, and have two people where he can be sane.
And then the last two episodes happened, although we saw a hint when Taka and Sumi were talking about having to go back to making lunch again by themselves. Like, this season was really intense. I'm excited about season four, what will happen next?
I felt the similar way... Its too good to be true... This does not forbode well.
Spoiler
I even considered this is how the Japanese had connections with alucard. But the lunch conversation came and I was like... This kids gonna die... Sad alu D:
Unknown Artist Right before Sumi and Taka gave Alucard “the reward” I thought to myself are they going to have a threesome with Alcurad
Isaac and Dracula pretty much summed up Hector’s fatal flaws.
ISAAC: I have respect for Hector.
But he is a gentle soul.
He's still a little boy.
Probably the same little boy who didn't understand - why he was beaten for keeping pets.
DRACULA: Well, his pets were reanimated dead animals.
One can understand any parent's discomfort with a dead cat doing a dance in the living room.
ISAAC: He really only wants pets, you see? He really only understands pets.
That's how he perceives your war.
To cull humans back to a small population and then keep them in pens, he understands that.
DRACULA: That is partly my fault.
He's a child in a man's body.
That does make him easy to lie to.
Yeah it’s pretty obvious to everyone.
definitely agree that hector is very naive but damn how can you deny that sexy vampire ass tho LOL
I don’t like his character. I don’t know about his path on the game, but on the series it is terrible. He’s such a naive and, sorry, fool man 😒 I don’t understand him! How can he even trust a vampire again?! After Dracula and Carmilla! What the heck is wrong with him? 😕 even if it’s a “sexy” vampire.
@@rubelle9759 Well, I don't think he trusted the vampire. It was just sex to him and he said he would be loyal to her as an empty promise. It was totally unexpected that there was such magic that could bind that statement.
OMG, I just remembered, he had a dead reanimated dog! Wasn't it a pug or something?
Tran Thai Binh I think that he trusted her, even if just a little bit. we can see it when he starts to open to her, to smile and to want her presence there with him. and I don’t think he is a character just interested in sex or something connected to it.
He was hoping that she would be different, maybe? That she would not fool him? But as always, he is such a naive character... I don’t understand why he is like this, because he lived with Dracula and Isaac, both so dang clever, I thought he would learn a lot with them; and because of his own background story too.
Man this season had me looking at Alucard like wtf why they do him like that
Brandon Pierce their reasoning was completely stupid too imo, “you lied to us” ???

I felt more despair than Somber.... I hope they all meet again and stop Carmilla

"What the **** is toilet paper?" This is the line that stuck with me... I'm glad they gave Isaac more depth this season and can't wait to see what they do with the character going forward.

Just a side note, out of all the sisters, Lenore, I believe is the most evil amongst them. She schemed on her own, and did not inform her sisters, as well as being pretty manipulative and has a way with words. I think during the big war she'll betray her sisters and become a central antagonist in the future seasons.
I do think she cares for Hector though, even if it is the same way a human cares for a beloved pet.
@@cylontoaster7660 But that's the problem, she sees and loves him as a pet, not as a person. She wants him to be submissive and below her. He's a second class citizen to her eyes. She's no different from her sisters. She's far worse. She's manipulative and will show her true colors in the moment she's close to someone.
I just hope that Hector can be free in the next season. Whether by death or surviving the next attack.
u might be right she said something about everybody thinking she was weak when she was beating tf out of hector like she had her own scheme going on outside of just hector

Maybe. Honestly Alucard is overpowered and too "perfect" he probably needs to go away to create more tension overall

He's a child in a man's body with power he barely has a hold of, he didn't win against his father, his father realized he was fucking crazy and let himself be killed, he's going insane because the only three humans he had good interactions with was his mother and Trevor/Sipha, two had to leave him behind and are all the way in bum fuck, and his mother gets burned to death by a bunch of crazy zealots, he's far from perfect, the fact you even said that proves you didn't watch the series even a bit.

Thats what i thought of at first until i saw the ring go on hector's finger. After that well, you know what happens. The sad difference is dracula didnt need to manipulate hector and lenore did. Lenore is more of a monster than dracula. Tho tbh, i have mixed feelings when it comes to lenore.
Well he's both royally fucked and fortunate at the same time. It looked like it was going to be a lot worse for him at the beginning of the season.
The alternative was kinda death, so I don't blame him
In this economy? I'd *THANK* Lenore for a chance like that! The sex is just a side effect. Imagine not worrying about college debt because the entire castle has everything you need? If Carmilla installs internet on her castle, I'd sign the fuck up.
This season was SAD, holy cow I finished it and was like what. But the fact that I was so dumbstruck and shocked by the dark ending shows me how good it really was. All of the characters were actually compelling which isn’t the case for a lot of shows out there. I’m curious to see where season 4 goes
Matt Hay Bring back Dracula 2020.. Make wellacka Great!!
2 random asian incest characters were not compelling... its was gross, they were horrible characters and ruined the series for me. AngerOfTheLand I had the same idea but I guess the show wanted me to suspend my disbelief. If you view it from a thematic standpoint, Alucard wouldn’t have refused sex since he’s been so lonely. The pair knew this so it was the perfect opportunity to try and kill him. Very unorthodox way of showing it but it made sense I guess.

Yeah I really felt sad for our three heroes in despair and betrayal!
Yeah, boy did this season put everyone through the ringer, wow.
_i'm annoyed by the people complaining about the sex scenes. they are a part of the character development for God's sake. our soft bois Hector and Alucard were so desperate to feel something else than loneliness and bitterness they end up trusting the wrong people. Alucard had been so lonely for so long, it must've felt nice to have some company who actually care for you. Hector on the other hand,, Well, being the naive dope he is, wanted to trust someone. He thought Lenore was something else, someone to love. apparently not. the sex isn't there just to attract more viewers. it is there to show the dephts of the human (or dhampir) mind, how far they are willing to go just for some affection._
Yeah at first I thought it was a bit too explicit as unnecessary, but then I realized how it all tied together the Alucard sub plot could have been contructed a bit better, maybe some more forshadowing. But otherwise yeah, they used sex to symbolize vulnerability, and then they abruptly go into the idea of having your vulnerability being taken advantage of.

Is no one going to talk about the alien giant robot and space ship ?????
Hahahah I didn’t even know where to start
Does this mean that Vampires are potentially aliens?
But he said it. The corridor opens doors in time and space. I think the world of Castlevania is in a dimension and the things you see are in other. It could also be the past present and future.
The Infinite Corridor scene was so badass to me. Alien planets and different regions of Earth. 😁
Doesn’t seem alien to me. Could be aliens, or just so far to the future that it’s advanced technology. Who knows for sure? It was just meant to be an insight into the importance of the Corridor and Saint-Germain.
I actually think that it was Alucard's first time having sex when he did it with Sumi and Taka. Since he's younger than he looks and most likely didn't have many friends before meeting Sypha and Trevor because of his vampire side, it would make sense.
With that in mind, it makes his whole ordeal so much more heartbreaking than it already was.
Shannon Richardson yes Alucard was definitely a virgin and bisexuality confirmed from the fan fiction that’s been written for decades about him.
This also gives pause to Alucard eventually taking a trip to Japan in the future and becoming an undercover agent.
I doubt he will be a fan of bondage unless he’s the one in control or fully trust them.
Sword familiar for the win
What felt most heartbreaking to me was the fact that he was so traumatized, depressed and emotionally broken in general that he'd accept anything so long as it meant halting his starvation for human contact. Up to that point he had not shown any remote signals of wanting anything from the siblings other than their friendship, but when they show up in his room wanting to have their way with him, he just takes it. As if he's so desperate for not being alone that he would have any sort of affection thrown his way, even if it's uncalled for sexual activity. And the siblings took their sweet advantage of that, emotionally abusing what's essentially a teenager in the body of an adult in a moment he lacked the mental stability to properly consent. The way he cries as they play with his body was the worse, like, the poor man wanted to feel loved so badly, that, at that point, I think he would take being someone's sex plaything for the sake of having company. And then the betrayal happens. And there he is, broken and crying on the floor realizing what just happened. Damn, he needs therapy. And maybe a wholesome threesome with Maria and Lyudmil. One where he is in a happy relationship and emotionally healthy enough to properly consent.
Tl;dr: Alucard got lowkey emotionally raped, if that makes any sense. My poor baby deserved a better way to lose his virginity.
Cookies are Awesome And when we are depressed after traumatic events any company seems like good company.
And many can relate to that, had the Japanese been more patient and said what was on there mind than this wouldn’t have happened.
I do see that Taka and Sumi were desperate and wanted all the training and knowledge, Alucard offered to teach them magic he offered everything to help them but training takes time.
To learn anything takes time even lock picking which I talk about on my channel.
Learning to master different weapons takes time as well, Alucard wanted to help them.
Yeah I was weirded out by this surprise incest sex scene but your analysis does lend some credence to it.

The theme of this season was betrayal.
Isaac already felt betrayal; this season was how he learned to cope with it.
Hector was forced to deal with his betrayal against Dracula, as well as his own intimate betrayal from Lenore...who by the way, may have just assumed direct control of EVERYTHING.
Sypha & Trevor felt a minor betrayal by way of The Judge...who fooled everyone with his own hidden darkness.
Alucard, broken and alone, opened his heart to strangers...and was betrayed. Ironic, considering they, too, justified their wrath with their own betrayal.
The ending left many bitter, angry, unsettled, violated & confused...just like the audience.
Which is why it worked so well.
i like your sum up review better than this video ("9/0"...that was the review video)
Tony Favilla Well stated.
Bloody yesss 😩🤚🏼
It's funny how Isaacs "humans are douchebags" philosophy was proven from the perspective of all the main characters. Each one of them eventually reestablished that fact the hard way. From the judge to those Hunters to several people in Isaac's journey. This season really left a bitter taste in your mouth.
Isaac's encounters were his own damn fault. He literally walks into town with a legion of hell spawn and is surprised when the people of the town hate him. Like no shit. Would you let satanic beings into town to walk around your wife and kids? Of course the guards won't let him in. Then he acts like some moral authority talking about how humans are selfish. If he showed up by himself without his beasts, they wouldn't have a problem with him. Isaac is a moron.
@@Prodigial lol
@geo science So Isaac just gets to exert his power and claim dominion over these people? How does that make him any different from the Magician who formed the Legion later on in the series (who enslaved the town). Isaac doesn't give them a choice, he may as well just say, "I'm going to walk through your town with my demons. Deal with it fuckers."
If I were faced with the literal spawn of hell, I would rather stand and fight than blindly trust them. Tell me how many times trusting demons has worked out throughout human literature. Never. If they intend to fight us, then I'd rather do it armed and facing them than when my back is turned. Those people were 100% in the right to stand up to Isaac. They had no reason to trust they wouldn't get killed the second they trusted him and, given his companions, it's probably wise to not trust him.
@geo science If you want to use power to get what you want, fine, you have every right to do that. The problem is that Isaac tries to claim moral superiority and looks down on humans while he acts horribly. Past abuse is not a valid excuse for committing further abuse. Isaac can choose to either practice what he preaches and stop killing people for the simple reason of not trusting the spawn of hell, or he can just go full on power hungry and kill, pillage, and do whatever the fuck he wants. He cannot, however, do both and be correct.
@geo science Isaac is acting morally superior and the original comment was saying how Isaac has this view on humanity on being depraved when he is arguably the most depraved character in the show.
I knew from the beginning that Hector would be tricked and betrayed. I missed an ambitious and revengeful character like Dracula but Issac stepped up, he was the most interesting imo. Belmont and Belnades were entertaining. But what happened to Alucard just broke my heart 😭

I know it’s not a big deal, but I LOVE Trevor and Sypha’s relationship. It’s pretty sure they’re both in love with each other, but what surprised me on how much they understand one another and truly connect. They act like very close friends at times, lovers in bed and in private, and professionals when fighting demons. The writers deserve more praise.
Yep, I just love it and am satisfied with how their relationship is portrayed. I do hope to see a kiss though in season 4.
They seem like best friends that just so happen to be in love! It's such good chemistry!
You’re absolutely right!!! I think their relationship is something people could learn from. People expect relationships to be shown lovey-dovey in shows that it really defeats the purpose of having couples. Their relationship gives the show a bit more “juice” for the audience to enjoy even though it’s not considered a romantic show, in my opinion. I love all the battle scenes and mostly the theme behind the series, definitely hooks me in.
I liked that Easter egg they added with Legion. It was a memorable boss in the games and they made Isaac fight it. It was great. He pretty much went through a level and fought a mob, a mob boss, and got his reward for beating it.
I absolutely adored the addition of Granfaloon (Legion), and the animated combat scenarios all felt like boss fights. Seriously, Germain said he'd have to kill it repeatedly, and so Trevor smacked the shit out of it like you would a Castlevania game.

Alexander Platypus I don’t know i just don’t like these new vampires, Dracula had a sense of humanity in him he was able to care about humans and see them as more than just food. Unlike these new vampires who just care about themselves and indulging in their next «meal»
the thing i think made Dracula so interesting is that he is by no means a saint but he has conflict in him, he is a vampire but he has a sense of humanity in him. He had a human wife and a half vampire son, he could not kill him due to his love for him, Dracula and Lisa even made toys together for their son Alucard to play with, «like why wouldn’t the king of vampires have a lesser vampire servant do it for him?»
and he even saved isaac one of his servants that are «beneath him» thats human kindness right there.
Carmilla and her sissters/friends are just cruel for the sake of it and only care about themselves

The reveal of the Judge being a serial killer because he got his little pleasures being a control freak had it's hints, set up, and a logical reveal even though we would have wanted otherwise. We, the audience, really wanted the Judge to be an example of a good leader who could steer a town in the right direction as the Captain of the ship was telling Isaac to steer humanity in the right way. We were as equally as devastated as Trevor and Sypha when we learned what was in that locked room. However,Taka and Sumi did not have a logical motivation to turn on Alucard like that. He never abused them in the same way Cho had. They claimed he withheld from them when all their day and night was learning and training. Even their claim of him lying to them as others had to them in the past has no basis because Cho never lied to them either. Cho made it clear she was their Vampire lord and they were her slaves or food or whatever. Had it been set up that the story they told Alucard of being captive orphans is a lie, and they are not vampire hunters but are actually there to avenge the death of their master Cho. Their training was to learn about their enemy and strike when he was most vulnerable would make sense, and it would've made for a great betrayal story.
Totally agree, I never felt that Alucard was hiding something (like heck, I'll be lucky to have a friend like him), the betrayal kinda felt odd (surprising and unexpected, but odd (those greedy bastards)).
But yeah, just look how they massacred my boi Al.
THAT would've made more sense! Why aren't you a writer of the show? send in a resume! The sister even said she thinks Alucard is just hurt. What evil little $hits for trying to kill a man who was still recovering mentally from killing his father., who was feeling down AND THEY KNEW THAT . . AND HE MADE THEM LUNCH/ GAVE PIGGY BACK RIDES. They deserve what they got. He at least dressed them before putting them outside when he didn't have to. They were going to kill him for his insecurities but in the end he killed those 2 liars for their own insecurities (because Alucard never tried to hurt anyone just because he was confused...they did). Just because you have a sibling or friend to believe you doesn't make it acceptable or right...wow that comment was darker than I ment. but u get it. Poor Alcuard now crying in his childhood bedroom where he saw his mom and murdered his dad :'(
Cho showed them directly how cunning and deceitful vampires are when she allowed heroes to fight her. She showed them how much control she had over a situation despite her prey believing they had a solid chance
Tbh, I felt like Alucard was almost an unnecessary character this season ... But if the intent was to show his transformation, then I hope it pays off properly in upcoming seasons.
I also thought the other vampires in S2 were wasted. Cho and the Indian ones were given literally nothing to do and were blatantly token ethnics ... Heck, some dialogue would've been better than nothing.
Another thing I also feel is missing from the series (I don't play the game) is character study. S3 had 10 EPs, 2 more than previous seasons. I feel like the team can dedicate at least 5 minutes in every other episode or so for standalone back stories. They did a little of that with Hector and Isaac in S2. They should do it with all the main characters! Until now, we have never seen Dracula and Lisa's first meeting (only heard someone mention it). Never seen Trevor or Sypha or Alucard's childhoods. Never seen any of the vampires before they were turned. Surely they still have memories of their human lives. Snippets like this would deeply enrich the characters, let us understand why they've become the way they are.
The two seemed to exist for the sole purpose of starting Alucard along the path of becoming like his father, and seemingly were contrived into fulfilling their role.
Broke my heart what they did to Alucard!

Finally someone who thinks the same as me!!
I think that, when Isaac sees how emasculated and oppressed Hector is being kept by the vampire sisters, he'll see himself in him because he also was a slave once and punished for trusting and loving. Even Isaac himself said to Dracula in season 2 that Hector is nothing more than a boy trapped in a man's body still bringing his pets back from the death. He knows Hector is immature and naive and easily to be manipulated. The real enemy is Carmilla who orchestrated the plot against Dracula right under his nose.

Hector's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I can't help but feel bad for the guy getting kicked to shit and treated like an animal every episode. I kind of hope he manages to subvert everyone's expectations and cuts off his finger to get the ring off once he has an army made or something.
I would say Hectors entire story arc is leading him to become the Hector from the games, all of this suffering will in the end just make him incredibly dangerous.
That’s actually a good idea about Hector cutting his own finger off the get rid of the ring.
Hector even in the prequel mangas (the 2-volume series and the short preorder bonus) was never the wimp Netflixvania portrayed him to be. He was the top Devil Forgemaster in Dracula's army and was Drac's favorite, though Isaac was more loyal to Dracula. In fact he did make attempts to convince Dracula not to declare war on humanity, but failed. Netflixvania's Hector and not-Isaac did not have the dynamic their OG counterparts possessed. Netflixvania's Forgemasters are just rebranded Necromancers, not the battle alchemists the OG-verse were.
I think Dracula will come back next season. There’s no way in HELL they would show him to us in the first place. I think in the midst of the war between Camilla and Isaac, Dracula would someway somehow make an appearance to tip the scale. With his return I hope his wife comes back as well, seeing Alucard with a complete family could be interesting especially in the mental state he’s in at the moment.
My prediction: issac's assault against Hector fails due to the 4 Vamp Queens guarding him, his creatures are destroyed, he is badly wounded. Hector is actually one of my favorite characters, so, it's interesting to see the different paths that Isaac and Hector(unwillingly) take. Hector is a strong minded person that just wants to do his job and you see that in the last season. The dynamic of Lenore and Hector's relationship was clever on the writers part. He thinks he has love and freedom but he's still in a CAGE. I found myself being manipulated as well.I had no idea the judge was a child murderer. But I knew something was off about him; he looks like a executioner or someone guarding a galantine. He doesn’t seem very personable like he should be running a town. Season 3 was a train wreck on high roller coasters of crack. It’ll leave you scared. And trauma, the emotional damage is real and questioning bout your own humanity. Plus it also dives deeper into the vampires lifestyle.
@@jerekstormgard6277 Let me put it like I was dealing with some personal stuff and this brought me to a very dark place.
It's a train wreck alright, but not in a good way
@@dangamer8884 It'll leave you in a dark place afterwards
Hector is the Sansa in early seasons of GOT
While I can imagine Alucard would push Trevor and Sypha away, I don't think he would actually try to hurt them.
Call me stupid but... what if Hector just chopped his ring finger off?
I think it could work... Or maybe if he chopped Lenore's finger off. But there was the red magic vines that formed around Hector's body when he "Swore loyalty". So maybe it's not as easy as that...
If he tried to chop it off or take it off in any way "It will feel like he shit out his heart" atleast that's what Lenore said at the end
That counts as taking it off
I tought the same bro at the last scene hector looked at his hand like a piece of a garbage
Suicide is an escape then
This season was pure gold for me. Characters development, plot twists, lots of action and Easter eggs. Can't wait for season 4.
"What is a man, but a miserable little pile of secrets!"
We will hear this line in Season 4, just a matter of which character says it.
Honestly I felt that alucard story was kind of dumb and a big part of that is I really don't like Taka and Sumi I thought they were half-assed characters and dragged down Alucard
They were basically made to feel the void of Trevor and Sypha, thus alucard trusted them and they betrayed his trust and finally knows how his father felt about humanity.
The Alucard story was pretty meh and I do think them turning on him felt artificial but they were WAY too happy before, so I was super suspicious. Like it was way too upbeat for this show so you had to guess something else was going on especially since they had been traumatized their entire lives to hate vampires. And now it makes Alucard become darker and more isolated
@@alexanderplatypus3664 that's kinda the point. alucard is equal parts dracula and his mother. He is losing his trust in humanity and becoming more like daddy. It's part of the shows attempt since beginning to blur the lines between absolute good and absolute evil. sigh...wish ppl watched more intensely.
Rickyee I hope you’re right
I'll agree that Alucard's story arc was the weakest of the four.
Lenore is damn good character
She is alright but I still prefer Carmilla, who faced much greater danger and improvised and proved herself. All Lenore has done is make sweet talk to a prisoner, beat him up easily, and then trick him with a spell. It's not THAT amazing
@@alexanderplatypus3664 I love the way she carries herself. She's very clever, smart, carries herself with calm confidence, knows what she want and knows how to get it, and she doesn't have that annoying "Men are the worst" mentality. Hasn't shown it at least.
Lt. Colonel Degurechaff She's reasonably intelligent but i'm not all that impressed with her. She beat up a human in a cell? Congratulations, any higher vampire can do that. The only reason she's confident is because she's in control, she hasn't faced any difficult situations, if she faced Dracula she would keep her mouth shut and all that confidence would disappear.
Edward Irwin agreed we don’t have enough info to say how capable Lenore is in combat or high stress situations yet. She is definitely good at manipulation though
Alexander Platypus Good enough but manipulating Hector isn't exactly hard haha
I really loved season 3 especially those last 2 episodes man that was dark but I have hope
yeah I couldnt believe the two turn on Alucard, he was just being a great mate
To be honest I don't think they ever cared to begin with. You're talking about two orphans who were tormented by vampires fir a long time, they have mental trauma and obviously have a grudge towards vampires. They obviously only wanted his knowledge. They were planning to ditch him as soon as they were done. They obsessed over the magic engine over and over. So clearly they were good actors using him from the beginning. They got what they deserved.
You kinda feel something is up cause they asked about the castle moving 3 times. And the reward they were talking about... would be that😁. But I did not see that end at all. I felt so sad for Alucard. I liked them a lot.
The show is "Losely" based on the game which worried me they're gonna do the whole Alucard becoming dracula Cliche. That honeslty is not gonna sit well with me. I remember in the games Alucard remained on the side if humanity but not without some dark choices he made along the way from what I remember anyways. Perhapse those two would've tamed Alucard a but too much considering that was way out if character for him. I agree the guy needs love in his life but that was kinds just like too quick. And like I said they obviously were trying to use him. They devoted themselves to him through every struggle but they turn on him after what seemed like only a few days or so? Yeah right.
@@chrnocrusader21 i think being Losely based works better for Video Game Movies. Just look at Sonic. It wasn't a perfect movie but it was good and respectful. Castlevania feels the same. And I doubt Alucard will go full Villain. Or if he does Trevor and Sypha will help bring him back to the light. Play with the idea that his Vampire half does effect him. I mean during the spar he did say that half of him wanted to bite them. He may have ment it as a joke but it could also be foreshadowing that his half breed nature does have that dark side to it and he has to learn to overcome it.
A good plot twist is something that you can sense, but still get surprised by. The siblings (spoiler!!!!!). becoming evil was always hinted at, they were kinda creepy and noticed Alucards weakness, his loneliness. Wen they started f$@king him I was surprised, but I knew what their plan was.
The thing is we had hints to all 3 twist comming, but the alucard subplot was nice things happening to a caracther and the witer used the trick "present a nice and cute maguffing then smash it to create a twist" too much already so ppl get dessensitized.
Mmm, they weren't evil per say. They were a product of their treatment and slavery.....which is why it makes it all the worse for him that he had to kill them. It's terribly sad actually.
@@davidkymdell452 problem is it came out of fucking nowhere, one scene they cool and understanding, the next scene they suddenly dont trust him even though we know very little time has passed. srsly bad writing whomever was in charge of that arc. they missed an opportunity to set up the hakuba clan. but no, tits and blood cuz its vampires so fuck it.
@@Aqsticgod it was foreshadowed a bit. I for one knew it was coming.....I thought it was well done. Their lives became thrown away. "What could have been" is a pretty powerful story telling tool as well. It's all about Alucard in the end.
Sypha had talked about how Germain is so lonely he desperately clings to any thought that makes him happy.
the Season focused on how blind trust over logic can be very dangerous.
Heres my takes after first watching it all like an hour ago.
Trevor: Will continue holding on to this anger and possibly start pushing away Sypha in an attempt to try to return to his old life he talked to himself about.
Sypha: After seeing such cruelty in the Judge and what happened in that town, she will somewhat harden and Trevor being a grump all the time won’t help. May also leave him. Maybe to return to the Castle/Keep and see how Alucard is doing...?
(I can’t shake the thought that they [Trevor and Sypha] will separate in the beginning of season 4 and have to reunite or wind up at the same place at the end of the season)
Alucard: Hopefully find out about how long his actually been alone. But his fall has either just happened or he’s about to go full Vampire. May begin to hate his old friends Trevor and Sypha for leaving him alone to go mad and have to go through the Twin arc. I don’t think he’ll die though.
Hector: Will on the outside seem better than being in a dungeon cell, but will still be a pet (funny how things come full circle). I also think Lennora will find other ways to torture and “play” with him in ways he won’t like; like say... in that new big bed..
Issac: “WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!” Lol But really, he’ll make his army and make a strategy using the new magic mirror and as far as if he’ll kill hector and the other vampires is a flip of a coin.
Sorry this is so long, thank you for coming to my TEDtalk
I binged it all after I got off work into 1am. I am so in love with this show and it feels like they're creating a show that can really stand on its own. I haven't played the newest games but this has become one of my favorite sources of vampire fiction and now I think its abundantly clear to never nut the vampire.
"Do not hate humans. If you cannot live with them, then at least do them no harm, for theirs is already a hard lot."
This really makes me sad. The end of Season 2, Alucard breaks down because he realizes he’s alone. In the 3rd Season he realizes he’s better off alone.
My only disappointment is that Trevor, being the main protagonist isn't really in compelling storylines.
Tbh, Trevors arc ended at s2, he finally continue his family Monster hunting buisness. In s3,Lindlefiend is more of a filler?? I guess. The only character that make progress is Issac
agree, trevor is boring, i believe the maiin protagonist is isaac up on this point haha
@@ramasaputra6205 Issac had his own hero's journey but in a more twisted way in s3
Arismafia Mafiaiskandar if Lindlefiend is filler then I’d love to see more filler like that lol
Monarch Prime my god you sound like a child 😂 “omg women became more important and now a male character sucks cause he found trust and comfort in her omg nooo” hahaha too good
I really hope Hector can escape from his misery, lenore had to have completely shattered any trust left in him and I hope she and her vampire sisters are utterly destroyed in the end.
he should just cut off that finger...Lord of the Rings style...but then he'd die within a day of being outside like he had stated earlier.
Misery? He is getting to do what he wanted under Dracula. Lenore told him straight facts. He was warming up to her for real reasons. Those sisters are the show's best characters I want them to win
@@alexanderplatypus3664 I dont think that hector wants the culling of humanity anymore. he's learned that vampires are just as cruel or even worst than humans. this is all a first hand learning experience for our boy.
wais khayre those are pure assumptions from you. Facts: Lenore offered Hector opportunity to do what he wanted his whole life, and he would’ve agreed but she had to use a magic ring to get Carmilla to accept Hector
@@alexanderplatypus3664 i agree that what i said were pure assumptions. Lenore is offering him everything that he wanted but he doesn't want it under Carmilla's rule. Lenore had to fix the damage that Carmilla had caused with her senseless beatings and poor treatment. now, we don't know if Hector would agreed with in due time cause he seemed pretty stubborn about not helping her willingly.
Honestly.... this is the darkest anime/tv I've seen in a while. Every turn was darker and scarier than I imagined tbh
2:46 "Curse you, you sexy, anime vampire!" My thought exactly.
I watched it on my grandmas Netflix...big mistake
Lmao your poor grandma is gonna be like 'what the hell is this?!'
Sarah G just show her Episode one
Delete from history MonkaW
She walks right in during the Hector-Lenore bang bang /Alucard 3some “Grandma! It’s not what it looks like!...”
thanks for the laugh. made my day.
We need a two hour series finale
Lenore and Hector will probably have a child
Phizzle when I saw them, I got a vibe that she’ll get pregnant. Half human that can become a vampire forgemaster vampire
That's what I was also thinking
It was clear she was seducing him but tricking him I’ve been in enough bad relationships to see that.
Her orgasams were pretty real and if Dracula can make lisa pregnant than biologically speaking than the reverse should apply to female vampires getting pregnant.
Lenore was pretty hot and nice touch with the French style bra and thong for sex she is a hot little redhead and hector went down on her didn’t show everything but damn he put every effort into it.
Bravo
Oh and Alucard bisexuality confirmed with the Japanese taka and sumi Warren Ellis and adi Shakur must have took a bit of inspiration from the decades of fan fiction and adult fan fiction with alucard being bisexual.
He was shown as a virgin too bad those Japanese didn’t have more patience and wanted to rush the training and demand and than try to harm their friend and teacher.
The mentioning the slave part to alucard made me suspect some bondage was coming too bad they tried to kill him and sword familiar killed them and bonus sword familiar confirmed.
I’m wondering if Lenore being pregnant will somewhat be a plot point in season 4
Dr Font unless those slave rings also act like a vampire iud than the real jokes on Lenore
I have a really strong feeling that next season it’ll be revealed Sypha will be pregnant and Dracula will come back.
Yeah we need to see baby Simon
@@heavyspoilers simon doesn't show up until 1669.
@@redflame2328 I kinda feel like they might change stuff up for the show but yeah you're probably right and he will be like how it is in the original lore
Would Sonia Belmont be canon in this universe though
@@fatewin they could make her canon some how but she wouldn't have been the first to fight dracula or have meet alucard.
This season is kinda the empire strikes back of castlevania, it ended for a low point for everyone, and sets up numerous different arcs and possibilities.
Dracula: Adrian, I am your father.
Alucard: NOOOOOO!!!
Lenore looks cute. But I wouldn't call her a master manipulator. Hector undergoes a Stockholm Syndrome situation with her and that plays to her advantage. That and Hector is gullible and stupid anyway as we have seen in earlier seasons.
welp, Dracula did say the man was naive like a child
Come on man...no need to call him stupid. He never had a chance growing up.
How if Should've Ended
Germain: So there's a secret basement inside the church.
Trevor: Lemme guess, the guys who keep talking about hell and Dracula want to open up something that would allow them to bring back Dracula?
Everyone: ...
Judge: Maybe I should call me men to see what they did with the night creature's body so we can cut things short before we hit episode 6.
*Meanwhile*
Taka: So do you want to kill Alucard since he's taking forever to teach us how to become Vampire Hunters?
Sumi: ... Why don't we just bring him to Japan and have our people watch over his castle?
Alucard: What are you two talking about? Your calamari is going to get cold if you don't come down for dinner.
*Meanwhile*
Captain: Now we drop uf Isaac in dis heavily populated city where he will-
Isaac: And my army of Night Creatures alongside me.
Captain: Hmmm ... perhaps we shall improvise. Set course to the coastline away from duh city.
Isaac: Why? I fail to understand why anyone would fear my creations?
*Meanwhile*
Hector: My life is ruined ... now I'm forever trapped inside a palace forced to make Night Creatures and love to a hot vampire.
Soldier: Wanna trade occupations?
*Meanwhile*
Grant: Oh boy, I can't wait to help the Belmont boy stop Dracula. I bet he'll show up any minute now ... any minute now. Got my axes, holy water and knives ready to take down Dracula. *Begins humming Bloody Tears quietly to himself*
Leon: At least you still have a chance.
I'm not so sure if they make Grant appear to this Netflix adaptation storyline , kinda feel odd
my poor boy grant , didnt get any love from the writer :(
@NPC 100573200 Hear me out on this; Alucard and an army of samurais fighting ninja-vampires instead of killing Taka and Sumi
I lowkey wanted Dracula to come back with His wife, I’m mad after seeing he didn’t :,)
