I talking to a friend about Jfarr's electric guide and my friend didn't know who Jfarr was, only then did I realize he only has 69k subscribers. These videos are the quality of a 1m+ youtuber keep it up dude you're getting there for sure.
Another good strategy is to farm signs around outpost for 100 scrap then buy a blue key card. Then find fuses and go to a monument to get red card to complete the launch site puzzle and get lucky and find a hazmat out of a crate. This can get you tier 3 guns and supply signals loads of scrap and you get it.
Thank you for your work Jfarr, a bit over a year ago I started my journey on Rust, and when learning the basics of the game, your videos were a huge helping hand in grasping the monuments and progression in general.
More you run around, higher the chance you gonna die and lose the good start. For noob players like me, the first goal is to place 2-3 bags near the fishing village. Then I try to make a square in the water before nodes are gone. To do it, I farm wood and suicide in the fishing village. Then I farm some stone and put on my body before it becomes a bag. I do it partially not to lose all at once if somebody kills me. When I have enough for the square or two I start fishing to buy submarine. Then I go with sub and check a nearby place for my water base that I build from the water so less chance to die and if something goes wrong I can always run into the safety of the submarine. Water base gives me more security against door campers since you can hear them easier. Nobody likes to keep swimming too much while door camping and they can't kill you with db or eoka. Then I expand my water base to the sub base. Submarine base is incredibly good for the fresh start with a high pop. And yes, if I'm playing solo then I play on solo only servers and trust me, there are crazy good players there too that build zerg bases, raid with 100+ rockets...

Loot the guitar from any crate on road (or make your own instrument if you have dlc). Now run the midi player in background so it autoplays music in outpost and collect the donations from players. If players ask for music request, try in your best power to do it as you can get a free Ak or even better stuff. Best time is at night when many players enter the outposts.

I think a more general video on the concepts might be a good idea. Now day's its really hard to make a video on a unique and good base design that hasn't already been done. However, a video that provides general tips for building bunker bases or end-game building suggestions that can be applied to any design could be useful.

I build A frame horse barn, harvest dung, sell fertilizer, last week it paid for 42 Ice High walls, 4 wooden gates, 6 full large boxes of complete resources, wood, stone etc, bought alot of F1 grenades, made a large box of high velocity rockets, which I like to shoot near players to move them along, sat in a boat at maximum range and pounded on a base that was roof camping, one rocket every 30 seconds till they were all gone, sure was fun.
im new to the game and i play on console unfortunately but im on my 4th wipe and ive found that if ur worried about getting scrap jus go to the water and hit barrels and/or untie underwater crates at the dive sites and the rock formations. This also is better if ur not amazing at pvp yet since nobody really chals underwater.
Here is my favorite strategy first, I go to the nearest fishing village on the way I get 75 scrap or more after that get a diving kit then if you have extra scrap get a wetsuit, then go to the diver master, and do the crate quest after that you can get a very easy gun from that just get some scrap go to outpost, get a jackhammer and a metal hatchet. Do not get chainsaw It makes way too much noise after that. Build up a base. 2x2 upgrade it to wood then use your jackhammer to get as much stone as possible. Remember inside of your base put down a sheet metal door and a code lock after you are done go start getting some stone if you get a little bit more rich go to bandit camp also remember place down 2 large boxes and a furnace it’s OK if you don’t have the resources yet, you can go get that later after you fully upgrade your base to stone go get a furnace and then try to get a tier one by the way the best place to live is near outpost If you’re even luckier and bandit camp an outpost are extremely close to each put down a base near both of them after you did every thing you should have a great solo start
I run along road to outpost, grabbing components and tools. Find a pickaxe in the toolboxes on the roads quickly, hit like 7 stones on the way. Grab 6k wood and 500 frags at outpost. Craft xbow or somethin at wb1 at outpost, research DB if I have the scrap, recycle some smoke grenades bought at the shop for some GP to make handmade shells for DB. Throw down a quick shelter right outside outpost, place big box, store my shit, then go hunt or farm and select main base location (always near outpost).
Ik the idea sounds a bit boring but I think a consumables guide would be cool cause it isn’t all just food you got rad pills , water and you could go into detail about how cooked/burnt/raw effects stats

I play high pop always 550/600 and i always rush for a legacy hut, place bags when i have cloth and keep one for inside the legacy hut. I go and make 2 hatchets and 2 pickaxes and farm some stone, metal and sulfur if i see it. Go back build starter and use wood doors. Get t1 upgrade doors, get more furnaces and expand a little. After that theres no real plan since it all depends on luck. I have had wipes i was raided once but also wipes i got raided 10 times or more. Not sure where everyone else plays but for me as a solo on high pop its all about luck. If u run into a zerg and kill one that wandered off their clan ur into alot of trouble.
By far I have the most success each wipe by rushing outpost off spawn by following roads to get 2 rope, by the time you get to outpost you should've found 2 rope for crossy and enough comps to recycle and buy some resources for base
This is kinda grubby but, if you’re looking for easy loot on wipe day hit the roads for scrap, buy F1’s and camp the tunnel elevator. Send it down or wait for it to come up if it’s already down and throw them in when it comes up. I’ve done this for 2 wipes and karma has not caught up to me 😂
i only play low pop 2x servers , my fav strat is running the road to outpost farming trash piles by the time i get there i have enough for a tier 2 workbench hence skipping the prim phase

I 'recommend' solos keep away from any people, hide or die (cos if you kill the wrong player life isnt worth living:) and there are many other techniques to survive a whole wipe. But luck is major. Basically best fun is as a true survival game imo. But etto. Also do not watch tutorials/vids - work it out for yourself, far more interesting. You can check vids later to see if you missed anything or if you get really stuck. Far more satisfying to discover, by trial and error! It is a totally different game if you have a teammate. Perhaps too different.
one really good way to get guns fast is check vending machines people will sell them for quite cheap, maybe i got ripped off but i traded 5000 sulfur ore for 1 ak but it only took me like 15 minutes to get the ore so ye then just research the gun you get then just craft it
Just had a stint on Ark with a couple buddies and we wanna try out Rust. Weve played ark but never Rust , there is some parallels between the games particularly the amount of real world time the games require. We spent a couple weeks on Ark and it was like a full time job. We tried to make it work with our work schedules but it got to the point where youde play almost all day farming and progressing and get off pretty late with work the next day and you get the 3AM “we’re getting raided” text. We couldn’t afford to take our foot off the pedal because every second we were not dedicating to expanding our bases defenses or arming ourselves to the teeth we were pissing away the time and effort it took to get where we were because as my friend said; it wasn’t an “if” but a “when” when it came to getting raided. Rust seems to be similar if not worse. I’m wondering what you would say the time commitment is to seriously play this game? How do people who work full time jobs play this game? I’m not even asking that as an insult I’m simply wondering because when you log off it’s not like the game stops for you. When you log off and go to bed there are real people out there who are willing to hit walls with pickaxes or guess PIN code numbers over and over for HOURS during the late hours of the night to get into your base while your snoozing irl. It just seems like anyone who is unable to live on the game especially if they are solo/small clan mine as well not bother. Especially when the base you have and everything inside is essentially a representation of hours sometimes days of real world time effort and dedication. All that time and effort is under threat 24/7.
In school, my friends and I used to work hard building large bases. However, as time went on and we all started to get jobs it became impossible to do this anymore. When you work full time you realistically cannot expect to defend the base against raiders as there will always be people who are on school holidays or have more time. Nowadays, we focus on building smaller or ‘fun’ bases and enjoying the game rather than trying to dominate. We hop on, do some events, and try to have fun. If we get raided while at work, oh well, it was to be expected and it was the fun we had along the way. Just make sure to use up your items as soon as you can and just have fun with them. Also I would suggest solo servers or solo/duo/trio servers for a better chance of lasting longer.
Have you never heard of offline raid protection servers? I had the same issue so unless you have double standards I'd go with offline raid protection servers
Another strategy me and my duo do is rush bradley, it’s a strategy that hjune mentioned in his video. You farm scrap fast and go to bandit camp to buy 45 f1 grenades (there is some leverage since it takes 40 to destroy bradley). I would say it’s hard, but if you farm more scrap you can buy an m92 at the bandit camp
Damn, this one sounds exciting. Maybe I could include a mention of this within an advanced strategy guide. Would also like to try it for myself to see how hard it is :)
I have one that is hard to do but on a 2x it isn’t so bad. Instead of farming for a base farm roads and monuments as soon as possible go to bandit camp or outpost and buy an LR300 and research the 5.56 BP. Then I recommend stashing the loot and putting the base with the extra scrap or tools you might’ve found. And of course you’ll need a T2 to make ammo but at least you don’t have to tech tree to a gun or snowball for one. It requires 1,125 scrap for LR, 5.56, and T2. Not the greatest strat but it will certainly be a good setup for a wipe.
No dumb questions here mate. You can only place a single TC per base. The radius and upkeep from a single TC will extend to all touching building parts. You can further protect your base with external or overlapping TCs but those are not connected to your main base. I used that strategy last night and almost defended it when two guys in full metal rolled up on my ship. The issue was that the scientists on the back lit me up and I died to the second guy after killing the first one. Didn't have time to med up. I suck at PVP and should have stayed hiding in a dark corner somewhere. lol
Damn, sometimes there is just nothing you can do, especially with those grubs that come at the end. It really is a lot about getting lucky. Keep trying, become extremely comfortable with the layout and positions on the ship and eventually the odds will sway in your favour.
@@JfarrYT I'm definitely very familiar with the ship, but I avoid pvp because I'm old and suck at it. Lol I need to force myself to do it more often and I should plan ahead for counters, I guess. Cheers

After 3000 hours you will realize that numbers are the key to this game, I’ve been killed by 3v1 all the time. This game is definitely not to be played solo.

Excellent idea since they essentially give you that tier 1 for free anyway. Especially at the start, that can jump you in front of most players.
Get a crossbow and run a tunnel station. Recycle and buy a base if your near outpost

one really good way to get guns fast is check vending machines people will sell them for quite cheap, maybe i got ripped off but i traded 5000 sulfur ore for 1 ak but it only took me like 15 minutes to get the ore so ye then just research the gun you get then just craft it
Just had a stint on Ark with a couple buddies and we wanna try out Rust. Weve played ark but never Rust , there is some parallels between the games particularly the amount of real world time the games require. We spent a couple weeks on Ark and it was like a full time job. We tried to make it work with our work schedules but it got to the point where youde play almost all day farming and progressing and get off pretty late with work the next day and you get the 3AM “we’re getting raided” text. We couldn’t afford to take our foot off the pedal because every second we were not dedicating to expanding our bases defenses or arming ourselves to the teeth we were pissing away the time and effort it took to get where we were because as my friend said; it wasn’t an “if” but a “when” when it came to getting raided. Rust seems to be similar if not worse. I’m wondering what you would say the time commitment is to seriously play this game? How do people who work full time jobs play this game? I’m not even asking that as an insult I’m simply wondering because when you log off it’s not like the game stops for you. When you log off and go to bed there are real people out there who are willing to hit walls with pickaxes or guess PIN code numbers over and over for HOURS during the late hours of the night to get into your base while your snoozing irl. It just seems like anyone who is unable to live on the game especially if they are solo/small clan mine as well not bother. Especially when the base you have and everything inside is essentially a representation of hours sometimes days of real world time effort and dedication. All that time and effort is under threat 24/7.
In school, my friends and I used to work hard building large bases. However, as time went on and we all started to get jobs it became impossible to do this anymore. When you work full time you realistically cannot expect to defend the base against raiders as there will always be people who are on school holidays or have more time. Nowadays, we focus on building smaller or ‘fun’ bases and enjoying the game rather than trying to dominate. We hop on, do some events, and try to have fun. If we get raided while at work, oh well, it was to be expected and it was the fun we had along the way. Just make sure to use up your items as soon as you can and just have fun with them. Also I would suggest solo servers or solo/duo/trio servers for a better chance of lasting longer.
Have you never heard of offline raid protection servers? I had the same issue so unless you have double standards I'd go with offline raid protection servers

Another strategy me and my duo do is rush bradley, it’s a strategy that hjune mentioned in his video. You farm scrap fast and go to bandit camp to buy 45 f1 grenades (there is some leverage since it takes 40 to destroy bradley). I would say it’s hard, but if you farm more scrap you can buy an m92 at the bandit camp

@@JfarrYT the best way to take Bradley with f1’s is to go into the recycler building and go on the ladder and throw grenades through the garage door

I have one that is hard to do but on a 2x it isn’t so bad. Instead of farming for a base farm roads and monuments as soon as possible go to bandit camp or outpost and buy an LR300 and research the 5.56 BP. Then I recommend stashing the loot and putting the base with the extra scrap or tools you might’ve found. And of course you’ll need a T2 to make ammo but at least you don’t have to tech tree to a gun or snowball for one. It requires 1,125 scrap for LR, 5.56, and T2. Not the greatest strat but it will certainly be a good setup for a wipe.
Maybe a dumb question, but referring to TC placement, can you place down two TCs for a larger base?
No dumb questions here mate. You can only place a single TC per base. The radius and upkeep from a single TC will extend to all touching building parts. You can further protect your base with external or overlapping TCs but those are not connected to your main base. I used that strategy last night and almost defended it when two guys in full metal rolled up on my ship. The issue was that the scientists on the back lit me up and I died to the second guy after killing the first one. Didn't have time to med up. I suck at PVP and should have stayed hiding in a dark corner somewhere. lol
Damn, sometimes there is just nothing you can do, especially with those grubs that come at the end. It really is a lot about getting lucky. Keep trying, become extremely comfortable with the layout and positions on the ship and eventually the odds will sway in your favour.

My fav strat is to walk on the road to outpost while hitting some barrels then recycle all for scrap then buy a pistol then research one bullet from it then buy grenades and recycle them for gunpowder and craft a couple of ammo then kill people to build my base

After 3000 hours you will realize that numbers are the key to this game, I’ve been killed by 3v1 all the time. This game is definitely not to be played solo.
