This is something that helps the newbies and people who will come back after a long break. I was so confused when I started back again a few months ago and there was scientists of different tier who look the same.
Thanks Jens and haha, probably would have been a good idea to be off god mode. I just know I would have to re-record multiple times because I would keep screwing up :)
Does damage received still scale unintuitively when using full body clothing items like a hazmat or ninja suit vs a set of 7 items that gives the same per-part projectile protection? They originally used to do bite damage, but after the rework that let them inflict bleeds, your damage would be reduced by the sum of the projectile protection of all individual clothing items, so a full set that gives 30% protection to head, chest and legs would actually stop 3 times as much damage as just a hazmat suit
Hi Jfarr! How to give yourself items through the console using F1 ? I gave the Ownerid to myself, but when I click on the resources there - nothing happens, please help!
I've heard a lot of discussion on scientists in relation to damage. Can you settle a debate for me? My friends are completely convinced that hazmat blocks less damage than multiple layers of clothing even if their ranged percentage is the same. What's your take?
scientists and turrets dont deal normal projectile damage with their weapons like players. They deal bite damage, same type as animals. while a full leather prim set will be less projectile protection % than a hazzy, it will be higher bite protection %, meaning it is better against scientists but worse against players. consider bringing both if u go to a monu with scientists. Before u doubt and go test, recall how easy it is to survive a m249 or spas scientist compared to a player holding those weapons, or the reason why there's no damage dropoff and only aimcone - its cuz they deal bite damage not projectile. idk why he didnt say this in the vid
The graphs I displayed only show the top 10 most likely items to find. It would be impossible to show all the items that can be found in a single readable graph. I found this information from rustlabs.com/entity/oil-rig-scientist
@Jfarr, did you know you can loot the NVG Sc. if you sneek behind them, take away their Hazmats (With skins!!) and stuff, and they will suddenly run away from you?
@@gasmask7064 No mate, we tried it a couple of times. It didn't work most of the time, it may be just a bug, but throw a flash and try to loot them. They're basically modeled like a normal player avatar after you strip them, and without a weapon they simply retreat
You sound a bit sadder than you did a while ago. Like when you watch an old video you sound absolutely different in a more happy way. It might be different microphone. Whatever tho, keep up the good work
Haha, I'm fine. Likely just different microphones, changes to the way I'm edit my audio in audacity, and the time in the day I get to record my audio at.
Hey bro I think that the way you edit your voice possibly deteers a lot of people from watching your videos. For my ears, it sounds very artificial and it even hurts my head. I think you are boosting a certain hz way too much and it's not ur actual voice but the frequency
the 3 blue scientsists should get reskinned soon. be nice if they all had a unique look depending on location, also would be nice if you pointed out how armor weirdly affects the damage you take from them
100% would be great to have different skins for each monument, similar to how the Arctic base's scientists have different skins. Also could have been good to mention the amour differences but I could see it dramatically increasing the scope of the video as I would probably want to show those statistics for each armour type.
@Jfarr u know what would be a cool video? Efficient farming patterns of monuments it would also help update pervious videos about said monuments because there have been some changes over the years and it wouldn't just be another X monument video
the roaming scientist typical encounter being a jumpscare is accurate
Haha, have to make sure these videos are accurate :)
that one dislike is a scientist.
Hahaha
lol
It was me
@osososd u killed me when I was a naked!!!
im pretty new just got rust do their guns drop if u kill em

Cheers mate and that's the goal of this video, to help the newbies and returning players and make it an easier experience.
Now heavy scientists can also carry a flamethrower or a minigun.
Man, you always release quality content. You obviously work hard on these. Hope your channel continues to grow.
Thank you for the kind words Marco :)
Love all the loot table and scientist graphs and visuals. Really underrated content!
Always a highlight of my day when Jfarr uploads
Damn you deserve so much more subscribers for this high quality content
3:46 the SAR icon is used instead of semi automatic body for the common scientist loot table
Haha, god dammit. Good thing the text is still there.
@@JfarrYT and it was called an m249 at 1:29
oh my bad i thought u meant the m249 at the start instead of the m92
Thanks for all the tutorials
Always happy to help Marvin :)
Finally my fav rust TH-camr uploaded
❤️
thanks for making this helpful video im looking on getting back into playing rust again
very good video. always of the highest quality. Would have been cool if you wasnt in godmode when showcasing the scientist in a "typical encounter"
Thanks Jens and haha, probably would have been a good idea to be off god mode. I just know I would have to re-record multiple times because I would keep screwing up :)
Jfar I can't thank you enough, I'm playing on console and your tutorials helped me clear my first blue and green card monument
Another A* VOD always look forward when i see you sliding into my subscriptions 🤣
Thank you Anthony and I'm honoured to be sliding into your subscriptions :)
Great videos and productions thanks very much.
this is what i needed grate vid
A year later and still helping newbies

I swear to god nobody actually knows how they calculate scientist damage
what're your graphics settings here? Looks very nice!
Awe what about the scientist at the outpost? With the green suits. I love those guys.
If It could be impossible to marry TH-cam intros I would marry your intros ❤
Haha, glad to hear you love them :)
Hi Jfarr! How to give yourself items through the console using F1 ? I gave the Ownerid to myself, but when I click on the resources there - nothing happens, please help!
Nice video! Also you could have added tips on how to take down heavy scientist like using grenades or baiting them down the stairs.
Thanks mate and definitely should have. Cheers for the suggestions :)
Will there be an updated version of this vid soon?
Love the vids! ❤
Cheers Noob :)
These edits 🔥
Thanks mate, glad you like them :)
Thanks!
i would have so loved to see
here is a typical encounter you have with the NVG Scientists

did it change? scientist at the arctic compound drop like 1-2 items only
Actually pretty good info, is scientist damage still considered bite damage or did they change that?
It’s been changed to projectile, but uses a different damage system such that just a metal face mask is better that a hazmat
2:39
Bro asked him nicely
Hey jfarr, I think u missed a supply signal on the normal scientists. Me and my buddy got one of a dead scientist at oil
The graphs I displayed only show the top 10 most likely items to find. It would be impossible to show all the items that can be found in a single readable graph. I found this information from rustlabs.com/entity/oil-rig-scientist
The average Rust scientist is deadlier than a Navy Seal
Haha, you're not wrong
can heavy scientists drop the m4 shotgun now?
nice
@Jfarr, did you know you can loot the NVG Sc. if you sneek behind them, take away their Hazmats (With skins!!) and stuff, and they will suddenly run away from you?
Haha, I don't blame them :)
@@JfarrYT Well, the suites don't have night vision for us, but it's still pretty xool
Are you messing with me?

Small mistake: Pretty sure Large oil can spawn up to 12 heavy scientists, not just 10.
def not. the spawns are set in stone, no variance. smoil is 6 and loil is 10
Military scientist can have 2 mp5s and will always have pistol ammo with the mp5

How do I spawn a scientist in or how do I get there outfit
There is actually a scientist skin on the hazmat suit so you can pretend to be a scientist😅
I would like to know some lore as to why they are just skin and bones
Haha, me too
damnn im early or once
