    I have tried making lavender oil 3 times so far. I am having issues getting an oil. It comes out like paste or too liquidity both still smell of ethanol. How do I fix this? What am I doing wrong?

    • @ethancurtin7486
      @ethancurtin7486 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would probly need to use a dehydrator. Or set it front of a fan until the alcohol evaporates out

      If kept air tight it will last quite a while. If you make the alcohol wash and save some to run later when you need it, the strained wash will stay well, preserved in the ethanol, for a long time.

    You guys should really link up with the magical butter machine people, their 8 hour alcohol extraction tincture mode would be perfect to use before processing it further with your machine... huge exposure for you guys and a little added exposure for them

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for your suggestion. For real extraction you defiantly don't want to use the MB extraction mode. You don't want to: 1) introduce heat to the ethanol during extraction process 2) chop the material while washing 3) let it set of 8 hours. It's the exact thing you don't want to do for quality extraction. For great process advice you can checkout www.extractcrafter.com

      I’m talking about for grain alcohol

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamolamo999 Right, myself as well as that is all we use. Grain alcohol, or as commonly known "ethanol", is very aggressive and takes only minutes, not hours, to harvest the oil necessary for a successful extraction

    Has anyone done cottonwood buds? Down South they’re Poplar buds- they have a thick resin. I just wanted to know if it’s possible to get the resin without doing a 6mos-1 year oil soak- but don’t want to wreck this machine if it’s already known to be incompatible. Thank you.

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, good question. Haven't heard of anyone doing that one specifically but you could ask in our user group for all sorts of botanicals, barks and more: facebook.com/groups/183294065570985
      The machine won't reduce the soak time for anything, just evaporate off and recollect the ethanol quickly at low temps.

    Extraction removes turpenes, how do you say the fragrances of herbs come out with this ?

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The terpenes do get extracted from the botanical by the ethanol, and then they end up in the final oil you make. It all happens at low temperature to preserve these terpenes. Some do end up back in the ethanol after it's evaporated off, but most are retained in the oil.

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. All of our equipment will allow you to make full spectrum oils and not to make distillate. However, full spectrum is generally more sought after and you can still make your oils pure enough that they can be used to make vape cartridges or other smokables like wax and shatter.

    So is the result a concentrate more like RSO or terpy and tasty like dabs ?

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your preparation! You can make ultra-terpy dabs by using cold temperatures and quicker wash times, or make feco with longer wash times and decarbing either the flower first or the oil after

    I live in a state that bans everclear and you have to have a liquor license to buy Food grade ethanol. Is there anything else that I could use?

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We really don't recommend anything but food-grade ethanol that is 95% or higher. There are many sellers like 420 Extractor, Culinary Solvent, and some others on Amazon. You can check these sources and see if any of them comply with your local regulations.

    • @ExtractCraftVideos
      @ExtractCraftVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That really depends on what material you are using. Some material gives more than others and some processes yield less than others. The range can be from a couple ml to many more. 2-10 ml depending on what you are doing.

      Our company is not a cannabis company. The Source Turbo is not a cannabis appliance. It it an extraction appliance that has a wide range of applications. This video shows the extraction of three botanicals for three different uses, to me that is pretty darn impressive. Other videos here on our channel show other types of extractions and the large active user group is doing all kinds of extractions. We are not being PC, we are not scared, we are not a cannabis company, we are a company specializing in home extraction process and equipment and are not limited to only one lane.

      He's not being PC hes just not pushing his product strictly for Cannabis because like the man said his product isn't made Strictly for cannabis.. Its made for Everything. Just because you could use it for Cannabis is not this mans concern because he doesn't even intended for his product to only be used by his customers for that one thing. His intention is for people to use it for all sorts of extractions.

Things that wouldn’t be possible without much more effort & technical knowledge. I’m quite grateful to this company for have such a broad range & not just focusing on one narrow avenue.
