Hello my friend!!! Im now just to make the same process than you in my 1.9 tdi ARL engine. everything is now dismantle !! But im really worry about to deglaze or not ..the cylinders they are in specs !! I measured it as you shown !!! But this is now my biggest doubt to deglaze or not because the walls are shiny!! Or just mounting the New rings as the cylinders are??i would like your conseill!!!
@@WRCgarage thanks very much im gonna do as you said ....i prefer not to destroy my block with the cheap 3 pads stone jeje 😅!!! Im just changing rings for more compression!!
I have changed that ASZ engine block aswell with an ARL last month as i found a better one with very little use in it and with still factory honing looking great .

Bielele forjate vin echilibrate cu o eroare de +- 1 gram iar segmentii ar trebui sa fie la fel, pe mine ma interesa sa aduc pistoanele la aceeași greutate pentru ca din ele am frezat, o diferență mica de cateva grame e ok dar nu foarte mult.

In the manual it says to measure 15mm from the bottom of the cylimder do u think it makes a difference from measuring from top
Yes, it does, you have to measure it 15-20 mm from the top or bottom of the cylinder to have a precise measurement.

As long as the cilynders are not too visible worn or bad scratched you can just leave them like that if they are in the specs.

Ar fi trebuit sa cantaresti pistoanele cu tot cu segmenti si biele... sa fie 99,9% echilibrat tot stii ce zic
