What I dont get about the PlayStation "Slim", and it becoming their new standard console...
The Spider-Man face plates just did so well! They had to have made a ton of profit selling those cheap pieces of plastic for $50 each, as well as so many people who "upgraded" to the Spider-Man console by buying the SM2 console bundle.
Everything except the controller sold out within hours of release.
The new Slim console seems to be losing the feature of being able to change out the face plates... I almost can't believe that to be true. Because PS really should have been expoilting this on every exclusive game on their console (even making a deal with Square for FF16). Does anyone know if the faceplates can be swapped out on the PS5 "slim"?
Cyberpunk 2077 was always great. Freaking loved it at launch and I'm incredibly excited to do another playthrough.
I think all the different studios working on COD will still be working on it that’s the only way to make one every year. I look forward to see the first one they make under Xbox have to wait a couple of years though cuz they must be working on next years already.
Would love to see Blackthorne remake or all new game.
I've had this discussion with a lot of people the past few weeks as to where Xbox goes next in terms of acquisitions. I do agree they'll focus on singular studios, a publisher would garner way too much scrutiny and hot off the heels of ABK all the regulators would be on top of Microsoft in an instant. Developers will fly under the radar. Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are my top picks personally, but they need to secure the Tomb Taider, Deus Ex, and Thief franchises along with them. And there's IOI, Avalanche, and Certain Affinity. Certain Affinity has been a longtime partner on 343's Halo titles, offering support and content. The studio is led by the mind behind Halo 2's multiplayer and is reportedly working on that BR spinoff. IOI has the James Bond game and their other project for Xbox. Hitman shows their prowess. Avalanche will likely hinge on how well Contraband does. If Embracer wasn't in a bad situation I think Crystal Dynamics may have hinged on Perfect Dark, but Microsoft can't afford to wait and see the fruits of that partnership, Embracer could shutter Crystal at any moment.
I'm all for the Banjo Bros. but how about the Conker Crew??
In fairness to Sony, they reduced the weight by 30% but I don't know if that translates to a 30% reduction in cost. The chips are not getting cheaper. Sony has been losing money on the digital units all along, so the price hike on those sort of makes sense, but removing the stand and selling that tiny wafer of plastic for $30, that's price gouging. I've said all along that the pro would be expensive. Sony sees it as a premium electronic product, so it will be priced as such, like $750 to $800. The silicon is not coming down in price.

2:25:02 I have 900 hours into Cyberpunk. I loved the game from the beginning. It was buggy to be sure, but the story was great and the gameplay was very good, albeit a little too easy. Never understood the almost rabid level of hate. I'm not a CD projekt Red apologist but it was always a little too much shade. People just wanted to be righteously angry.

I think one good fit for an acquisition would be Platinum games. They wouldn't be too expensive, they don't have a lot of in house IP, they are a Japanese studio and Xbox has wanted to invest more in Japan, and they would make for a wonderful fit for some of the now owned IP such as Prototype.

I feel xbox would find it hard to upset the call of duty machine, if it takes 6 plus studios to make a new call of duty then they would still need 6 studios to make a call of duty! Maybe a new super studio made up of teams from all the current studios who work on CoD?.

Welcome to the biggest issue with colts show imo. Colt says a lot without saying anything sometimes. Spends a lot of time fluffing up one point instead of getting to it and moving on.

Question: Do you think Xbox will ever put branding on Bethesda, Activision Blizzard King games? It would have been cool to boot up Starfield and see an Xbox splash screen. It's something small but PlayStation and the MCU do it well.
Yeah tbh I think Xbox should put their logo front and center on all of their first-party games, but they only do it with games published under the Xbox Game Studios label and not the ones under Bethesda/Zenimax or (most likely) Activision-Blizzard.

They can't, Sony has a contract with Marvel that they have the gaming publishing rights for Spiderman, this one isn't permanent like the movie rights but they can still renew it every year.

The problem with series s is that devs have to downscale which is much harder than upscaling. There would be no big problems for devs to up the native resolution and crank up some of the settings for a mid gen refresh.

Xbox still hasn’t figured out that you can’t buy people’s love. Gamers love Nintendo and PlayStation, but no matter how many publishers or developers Xbox buys people will continue to treat the brand as the red headed step child of the industry.
The fact that fanboys are celebrating this brand that is built on buying stuff other people made breaks the cringe meter. Even Halo was not something Microsoft made, they just bought it to be a launch game for the original console.

Dude, do you think that Sony was there along with the Fairchild Channel F commedore 64, Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis to name a couple. Bloody hell no, they came on the scene in september 1995. Microsoft already published 30 games by then.
The first thing Sony did when they entered the industry was by a hardwood manufacturer and Europe's largest publisher. They outspent SEGA and Nintendo in marketing with their deep pockets.
