  • #richeyedwards #manicstreetpreachers What is heup to? Let me know, in the comments below. I'm guessing the video is late Gold against the Soul era, based on his apperance, but what do you think?

Wherever Richey is now. I hope he's happy and peace. He was an incredibly tortured soul.

He certainly was. I think the fact that he never found love tipped him over the point of no return. We all need someone.

@@Rorshach1004 I honestly wonder how I ever went past the 27 mark too. I'm coming up for 10 years on that now. Mad fact is he disappeared on my birthday. I wish I could have met him.

Going by Richey and Nicky's clothes, I think it might have been filmed backstage during their appearance on Terebi Kanagawa in Japan on 5 October 1993.

1993 period seems accurate to me, going on the appearance of Richey. He has biceps. I know he was curling dumbbells around that time period.

@@Rorshach1004 I thought James was the one who worked out, as he did a lot of boxing. Can't see Nicky doing any of it.

    • @Rorshach1004
      @Rorshach1004  ปีที่แล้ว +7

Yeah, James trained on the heavy bag, and went for runs. Boxing training. Richey trained more for aesthetic reasons. I don’t think he ran, and as he was a heavy smoker he wouldn’t really be in the best cardio shape. He just wanted to look good.

    i have a disclaimer...
to people whom says "if he'd only found love...", he had someone FOR SURE (joanna). but, who wants to deal not with someone addict and depressed, but someone so self-pity-full and with otelo syndrome? someone who makes your emotions go up and down in order to not facing responsability or the probability of being abandoned but forgeting about other's feelings? may i sound tough but i have sort of his mind-style, very very alike, but "improved" even coming from a disaster of childhood, so i understand him but also can't defend him to sort points. i think he's a figure too victimized and even his sister says so! if you can think about the world problems at that deep, then you can work out your capacity of worrying and being responsible of your own life. i'm nuts for his work but ego played a great role in his mysticism and then downfall
nobody have the responsability of saving no one but yourself

Nobody seems to have dealt with your question.
    I'll try.
    The castle represents control.
    The wall the barrier.
People below it get near breaching it.
    But don't quite get there.
    The 🙀?
    I am not sure.
Better effort than others here though.
    Who only concentrate on themselves.

Richey wasn't around at the onset of the smartphone.
    Had he been?
He'd have had a "field day"

Imagine him now, with everything that’s going on in the world. His lyrical content would be absolutely mind blowing. I miss his mind. As for the castle, have you heard about Curtis Yarvin, and his theory of the cathedral? I believe it to be very relevant here.

@@Rorshach1004 No. Mundana and Mutopia. It's deep. I've just read it. But there's another thing....In 1999, the year of the Linux desktop, Eric S. Raymond wrote an influential essay called “The Cathedral and the Bazaar.”
      As for Richey?
I'm the same age as the Manics. I'm from Kensington and Chelsea in London originally. I lived in Blackwood 4 years. My German dad, was a top man in Ford Engine Plant Bridgend, South Wales. Closed recently.
I saw them a lot in one local cafe. It's gone now. Can't remember its name. They were interesting even then.
Since then I've travelled to 36 countries, either with my job or as a tourist. Currently reside in Alanya region 🇹🇷 of the beautiful Med Sea climate. 320 sunny days a year and heavenly for an Englishman 😂
If Richey's still alive, he'd still have interesting views.
The latest info I read about 2 years ago.
His sister was at a missing person's conference in Cardiff.
      Latest theories were 2.
      1. He stagemanaged it. Based on members of his own family doing it but later reappearing. His schoolwork was full of things like it. Famous authors doing it too.
      2. He may have been abroad when that giant Tsunami struck in 2004, Christmas time I think. On his way back, but perished there.

I (sadly) fear that he buried himself (like he mentioned in one of his songs) and misdirected people by putting his car at a S hotspot. He wanted to leave a rock and roll mystery, and succeeded in doing so. Glad you got out of the UK. Wise decision.
