I have the FMT Pro with most of the accessory templates. This is an especially well engineered and well built jig. The initial investment is high, but will last a lifetime if it is not abused. This jig comes with a great user manual, the best in the business. I use the FMT and the Festool Domino. Both have its strong points, cannot do without either one of them.

Can you build doors with the FMT Pro?

Rigo Yes, you can build doors with the FMT, though the Festool Domino would be a lot faster and easier. For doors, you would probably be looking at the larger Festool Domino DF700. An advantage with the FMT would be more precision in laying out double, triple, or quadruple tenons. The FMT excels at angled mortise and tenon joinery over the domino. Hope this helps.

Are the mortise and tenons of similar quality on both jigs?

Hi Matt, Yea the Mortise and Tenons should be basically the same. Keep in mind, the jig doesn't make them, the router and bit does. The guides are the same on both jigs. Its the jigs that differ in construction, clamping, table movement, sighting etc. Did you review the comparison video on our website www.leighjigs.com/intro_mortise.php.
