Had this wealthy ex, we had sport car, boat, luxury appartement, nice vacay etc etc. Never been with someone so miserable, so much so I was miserable too. I remember that one night on a vacations in that beautiful 5 star hotel all expenses paid by him and I was so miserable, just crying etc.
All of his material belongings, businesses, properties just seemed to bring him more worries and misery. That other time we were in Venice on this amazing cruise and he got bad news about money loss from one of his business and that literally ruined the next 48 hours. The nicest of things he could not enjoy because of the emptymness, stress and worries within. Trust me, the more you have the more you have to worry about.

@@Cos3D Well we were never married. Am black, he was white and it would have been an issue with his family. He didn't like the optics of that and I realised he would not like having black or mixed kid, though he liked black girls a lot.

I feel like the public telling celebrities "they should be happy for being rich and famous" is equivalent to parents telling their children "they have nothing to complain about because they're too young to understand".
The real reason that successful people get depression is that the struggle to achieve is a driving force that gives you life...the climb is exhilarating...it gives you purpose, and fills your day with something to accomplish...and the accomplishments along the way are rewards that give you happiness...but what happens when you have met your goal? What do you do then? Relax and sit on your laurels???? This is where the depression begins...you have nothing tho strive for...maybe you take up hobbies or side ventures..but it isn't enough...you long for the climb..the excitement of achievement...but you have made it to the top...you have everything...without the need to go further, you lose that excitement...and all the baubles and beads you have gained doesn't give you the pleasure you thought it would...This is why some very successful people leave everything behind to start anew...to get that felling again...to live again...
That is tru but there's always another calling or mission they need to find it spiritually or try to help others but most celebs and people in life are selfish and self centered unfortunately. I believe once you have that type of status should be trying to give back to the universe more of a spiritual journey after that.

Happiness is from within you, not some materialistic thing that you can buy (unless your only reason for being unhappy is that you can't pay your bills and provide the basic needs a human needs). I'm not saying you're unhappy, but i'm just putting it out there, cause a lot of people think that materialistic things will give them happiness but its actually just temporary pleasure and there's nothing wrong with temporary pleasure, it just won't fix being unhappy. I'm just saying that if they weren't happy before becoming rich, then buying things to try to fix being unhappy won't work
@@autonomyseeker6082 Before making my fortune I was a bit depressed as I couldn’t afford to travel or own my own property. Now I’m able to see more of the world and donate to charities I’m a lot happier. I’m not really that materialistic. I do like nice restaurants though.

Working a 9-5 job you love and coming home to a loving wife and 2 beautiful children is worth more than all the rich and famous in the world.
This hit me more than all the comments I've read. You are a rich man. For me... coming home from a day's work, having that home embrace you with loving arms, jasmine flowers wafting at the front door, knowing your children are safe and well, sleeping in a bed with legs intertwined with a partner who's got you. These are the real blessings.
I fight depression & anxiety everyday. I've been diagnosed with MDD... I TRY my best to be happy, stay happy. I can make everyone else happy & laugh & I love deeply & I am extremely loyal to my family. I enjoy my life & I'm grateful for it, everyone in it & i am so grateful for the things I've got.... But I still want to be rich! I want a HUGE, nice home.... I'd love to have the money to pay all my bills, buy groceries & pay for my meds without having to worry about where I am going to get the money for all of it or how I'm going to come up with the money. THAT would definitely help to relieve some of the stress that is on me.

Agree. Having financial freedom is one less stress and it allows you to get up in the morning worrying about where you going to get your next meal from.
Everyone wants a "HUGE, nice home ... ". Until you get your real estate tax bill ... until something needs repair & the bill is sky-high ... until you realize how much it costs to heat, cool, and maintain a building that large ... until you face the constant worry of thieves wanting to break in ... and then you realize how deathly quiet the place is when you are alone in that HUGE building ... and you realize it's not all it's cracked up to me, and you want OUT.

Actually, being poor makes you more grateful for things you get. That's the point. I used to be a poor and lived in a farm. I used to be so much happier under harsh conditions because I didn't expect anything and I was able to sort out my struggles or cope with them like hunger and disease. I enjoyed simplistic mindset of poor quality of lifestyle. It was very predictable since I got used to it. When I got adopted by a rich family, it came too unpredictable and too complicated...and got unhappier due to high expectations. Obesity killed more people than hunger did. I know many rich people who are very unhappy because of uncertainty. I found poor people so much happier because they are able to experience gratefulness. Being rich is like you have to accept people's expectations and sacrifice your own privacy. Otherwise nobody would respect you. You can't even imagine how hard is rich life.
The thing is... None of them have given up the cameras & walked away. So I find it hard to take their statements as genuine. Only person I know who's done that is Cameron Diaz.

I feel like they reach the pinnacle of their life where they achieved everything and they don't know what thier purpose is ...have not to worry bout anything anymore whats the point of doing anything you've done beat the game of life. Tbh after that I feel like people should get to know themselves spiritual and be in search of enlightenment.

I’m a self made multimillionaire. I used to suffer with severe depression, and couldn’t understand why. After visiting the doctor and having a blood test, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Since being prescribed thyroxine I feel normal again.

I don't believe anyone telling me that being rich is miserable while they are rich themselves ,, yeah right non of them drop their riches the moment they realize its not bringing them happiness anymore .
It's because riches and money don't correlate with each other. It brings comfort. Why would they drop their money when they have kids to care for and other people. For most of these celebrities it's not just them they're taking care of.

I'm not trying to diminish the real effects of depression but the thumbnail says " not being happy"
There's a huge difference between depression and unhappiness.
These celebrity's need to try and live off the average persons wage where you actually stress not knowing if you you will have enough funds to pay the utilities or put enough food on the table - this is REAL unhappiness which if prolonged goes onto genuine depression and often suicide.

Man, we have a huge problem with human interaction. We need each other to stay mentally healthy. Although most of people's depression is linked to other people. We shouldn't ignore each other like we usually see people do when their neck deep in trouble because we need a person to help us pull out of it.

i disagree with the guy that said mood is like the weather that it exists and there’s nothing you can do about it. When i was depressed i chose a bad lifestyle, drugs alcohol partying fighting wrong friends wrong relationships... i quit all those things and i’m not bragging but it’s always sunshine cool breezes here

I've always said, Fame is a trap.. The last thing i wanna be is Famous.. Money can only buy the temporary outer core of what you truly want.. You can buy medicine but you can't buy ur healthy body back.. You can buy companionship but you can't buy true friendship and love.. You can buy short satisfaction but never long term true happiness. Its like being a kid and begging for that one toy you wanna play but when you get it, you end up playing it for a day and you get bored

Happiness is a state of being. It comes and goes - to cling onto it is futile. We should all be pursuing wholeness - inside are we feeling whole or is there a lack we are attempting to fill through external sources? One should not chase anything whether it be money, success or fame. Everything you need is within you. Meditation, clean eating and exercise can quickly bring you into a state of contentedness and wholeness.

Materials will come and go without any impact with your true-self, relationships last for life-time. It is most definitely a hard thing to find good and honest relationship. Riches brings plenty of people with lack of intention of a sense of a true connecting relationship. Most of the happiness comes from inner peace with yourself.

Honestly, it must be hard having everyone tell you that your just ungrateful or fake because you're rich and have depression. I'm poor, like literally in poverty, but when my parents tell me I should be happy that I have a house and have a "good life", even though it sucks, I can take that experience and understand what it's like for celebrities when they're told that them being unhappy with life is them being ungrateful. Sometimes you really can't feel happy and you can't help that because forcing yourself makes you relaise how sad you really are. I mean, you have to force yourself to be happy...

I always used to think lightly about depression until I came across myself !
I feel depression is something when you realise the reality of your existence like I think us as a puppet starting from nothing to leaving the world with nothing except some memories and work for people who actually are nothing. So what are we? Soul Traveller or a Dreamer. The whole game is just living the life in hellucination and gratitude.

People can't be happy 24/7 because of money and stuff they bought its something obvious im surprised some didn't know about it, it's just common sense that some loose a loved one, break up, can't find a soulmate, being used, having no privacy, feelings lonely things like this happen regardless of how rich or important you are, real happiness comes from having a good family, friends or a soulmate 💗 it comes from genuine connections and love and not everybody are lucky enough to have all the best people in their lives! 💗 Money, big houses, expensive clothes mean nothing when there is no real love and everyone in your life are fake and manipulating you just to get advantage of you. 💗
one of the many paths to reach happiness: got tens or a hundred million dollars, plan your spending until your death, and leave everything behind, your status or your position with that money. Then you can spend the rest of your life with your loved ones and finding true happiness without thinking about paying bills, you live on your passive income from what you ear in your past life. For me I think that would be the best-case scenario, you're not wanting more, you just want to spend all that you've earned and you don't care about other people business and stay out of social media.

From the youngest age my brain was programmed into wishing I was famous. I grew up abused and bullied at school and at home. I hate everything about my life and it became a form of escapism for me to look up to celebs, watching tv shows and wishing I was friends with the cast etc... When they say happiness is having a family or someone to talk to I break down. I don't have that to begin with. If even fame and money wouldn't make me happy then why am I alive.
These people are not talking 100% real and facts are most people are happy being rich
I never get depressed nowadays, but in the past, my depression was nothing less than frustrated narcissism.

Many days, I wished I had a lot of money, and sometimes I just wished that I had enough for my family , and some friends ,a nice trip, being able to showcase my art, a cute place to live, and take care of of my health without government help.
This is not just about fame, you notice that some of the said "dark" it's deeper than that!!!
Maybe we're not supposed to be happy. People always find something to get upset about. I think it's hardwired into us.
It 's kinda disturbing to see that despite watching this, so many people in the comment section still want to be rich even though it means still being unhappy and justifying it with financial security. You don't need millions to pay your bills.
I remember Avicii saying that when he made millions, he noticed that he actually didn't need as much money as he had to live comfortably. His management's greediness sent him to an early grave.
I guess people just don't understand the message of the video. Josh Radnor explained it perfectly. The more money you have, the more famous you get....it just intensifies your insecurities. You stop being who you are because every mistake that you make, you are going to be judged on it. It's like always standing on your toes and never getting a break.

The world has a way of maintaining balance, no one can have it all, it's impossible. This world functions on problems, our problems are what keep us moving. 100% happiness/fulfillment when we really think about it doesn't exist because if it did we'd be left with nothing to do, no purpose.

I want to be rich because MONEY will enable me to express myself as much as I want to.
But I personally gave up on seeking happiness so I don't and won't expect it. I'm good with not feeling joy or "warm" feelings and when I do smile, or laugh, I don't get overexcited about it but I do enjoy the moment. As long as I'm not feeling suffocated and triggered back into depression, I'm good. But I feel these things broke anyway. So money won't change anything intangible because nothing tangible can do that. But I'll surely love to have it. In an ideal world, everything would be free so we wouldn't need money or even have the concept of it. Maybe happiness would be less fleeting and unreliable then.
