Should probably check the oil level a second time after you run the bike a couple minutes after the oil change to ensure it’s not too low after it cycles through the engine....that’s what I do
Absolutely you need to run the engine. This is called a “dry sump” engine meaning the engine doesn’t technically hold oil. That’s the job of the oil tank. This is so the motor can remain as small as possible and to sit as low as possible in the frame to maintain a low center of gravity. You have to run the engine after adding initial oil volume and then check the level. You may need to do this a few times
I've changed my '19's oil 7 times since New. And EVERY time I watch this great video. What I did this last time is Jack-up the oil filter side and it prevents oil from leaking out of the oil filter area. 👌👍
@@erickgutierrez2181 yes. It was actually less than 2 qts. The first few oil changes I did, it took the entire 2 quarts , but now it's more like 1 3/4.

A couple day before, I also used your same exact method for changing the coolant, it wasn’t ready to be changed but I wanted that crappy stock “company standard” coolant out of my 9,000 expensive engine. Im trying to get a summer job so I can get some actually useful mods and some eye candy mods as well as buy some fresh Maxxis race tires and some Maxxis snow tires so I can actually ride. I wonder, if you removed the drain pug before you removed the radiator cap if you would avoid the mess with vacuum holding the coolant until you cracked the radiator cap. It would drain quicker with drain plug all the way out... Nice job.
Remove the oil filter first , then do the tank, then the case. Drain them with the oil filter cover off, it'll drain faster and get more gunk out. If all you do is pull a plug your draining in a vacuum condition, pull the oil filter first you break that vacuum.

Hi I wanted to ask a question and I’m hoping u can answere me I have a raptor and I don’t know what kind of oil it contains and if I mix it with another type of oil is it okayy ??

I just bought a raptor 700 yesterday. I feel like there’s a lot of maintenance involved. Do you have a single video that walks through all the must do maintenance look overs. How many hours for each ?
Theres really not a lot of maintenance for these machines. As long as you change your oil, check your valves and change your coolant they run a real long time. Maintenance on a yfz is more involved
@@GoBengals oh yeah and just watch his videos if you want to see how to do things on it I'm pretty sure he has a video list with everything you'll need to learn and see
If you think a Raptor 700 is a lot of maintenance, go buy an RZR SxS and ride it for 3 years, then go back to a raptor 700... You'll be screaming for joy that you don't have ujoints, complex roll pins, wheel bearings, etc etc to maintain. Maintaining an ATV is fairly straight forward whereas a sxs uses more time for maintenance than it does riding... I left atv's, went to sxs's and now I'm back to atvs and I'm soo much happier lol.
Yes. Too much oil and you will have "blow-by"... the oil pressure in your case will be too high and will start blowing through your piston rings and eventually that will ruin your engine. Very important you do not overfill. A little too much won't hurt but an entire extra quart would be bad.
Congrats on the new Raptor! I would do your first oil change after 10-15 hours of ride time. After you do your first oil change you're okay to change it less frequently depending on what conditions you ride it. If you ride in sand or dirt it's always better to change it more often. And yes change the filter whenever you change the oil!
Hi , i m nathan and i have a problem if you want to help me ,i have an yamaha raptor 700 and my blower assy doesn t work , is it a problem if I go with him like that?
Ah. I would definitely get it fixed sooner rather than later. But it depends what kind of riding you're doing and the weather. My fan only turns on if I'm trail riding slow or on 90° days in traffic. I'd say you're okay to ride it as long as you stay moving and dont ride too hard.
I do the same thing when it starts 😂 I’m always like.. “hell yeah I didn’t break it!” Great step by step I use it every time 🤘🏼

The manual
MotoPosh Thanks I found it and gonna follow that. You have guys saying put a full quart in the case but I won’t.
Sounds good, yeah I've always added a little over half a quart to crackcase. 1.5 ish to the overflow tank 👍
All I have to say is thank you
I just bought a raptor 700 yesterday.
Could you do a video on all that ? I have a 2020 Yamaha Raptor 700 ? Just want to make sure I keep her running. Only has 45 minutes of running time !
A lot of maintenance? It's not a lot of Maintenance it is normal maintenance like most ATVs
What happens if you put in too much oil in both the case and tank? Would it burn off?
Yes. Too much oil and you will have "blow-by"... the oil pressure in your case will be too high and will start blowing through your piston rings and eventually that will ruin your engine. Very important you do not overfill. A little too much won't hurt but an entire extra quart would be bad.
@@Motoposh cheers mate. Thought that was the case but just double checking . Merry Christmas and all the best for new year
how often do you guys think it needs serviced ?
Depends how hard you ride and your riding conditions. If you ride sand you'll need to change your oil a lot more than if you ride pavement
After what time should i change the oil i got a raptor 700r se 2019
Could you guide me on when to change oil...
Should i replace the oil filter when i change the oil
Yes, always change the filter when changing oil
Congrats on the new Raptor! I would do your first oil change after 10-15 hours of ride time. After you do your first oil change you're okay to change it less frequently depending on what conditions you ride it. If you ride in sand or dirt it's always better to change it more often. And yes change the filter whenever you change the oil!
Dude my oil is not full and no it’s not leaking where do I fill it up at
The silver oil tank. Your engine will pull oil from your tank when its running
Does this change the oil in clutch and gearbox?? Please answer
Yes, it's all the same oil in the Raptor 700.
MotoPosh ight thanks
Hi , i m nathan and i have a problem if you want to help me ,i have an yamaha raptor 700 and my blower assy doesn t work , is it a problem if I go with him like that?
What is a blower assy
I mean , radiator fan
Ah. I would definitely get it fixed sooner rather than later. But it depends what kind of riding you're doing and the weather. My fan only turns on if I'm trail riding slow or on 90° days in traffic. I'd say you're okay to ride it as long as you stay moving and dont ride too hard.
Yeah , thank you for this :)you helped me
Rad fans are about $180 (CAD) from your local dealer
Good video
First you said 12 mm then 22 mm socket ?
There are 2 oil drains.
Is this the base raptor?
Yes
Get yourself a form a funnel the are awesome..
Thanks you I did exactly how you explained.
