@tikcuf39 yeah I had a thin strip I was looking for, but i also wanted to fit the 2x4 full use in also, but definitely aging a piece of metal for the banding would look cool for sure!
@1954JDR you just moved to the top of the favorites lol, but thank you that's a huge compliment! Wish I had a small percentage of talent as Norm, legend.
@philipdavison4066sawdust thank you! Hope your new year is happy and healthy too! Yep I like the rustic myself, but i did wanna show that it's OK to paint if you wanted to match your decor. Thank you for watching!
I subscribed to your channel. I’m also a big fan of bearded viking. I have a 10 year old daughter who wants to get into making small items for sale at my vineyard and winery. I love the pallet wood projects as I have a ton of pallets out in the field just decaying slowly. I have a table saw and of course circular saws and jig saws but no jointer or planer yet. The pallet wood shelf you made here is amazing. I’m going to try to duplicate it. Thanks for the content.
@jeffreyhutchinsdo awesome thank you! Yeah viking my guy. That's great your daughter wants to get into smalls. I have a TON of pallets myself and ready to use them lol. Thanks for watching and hopefully can come up with some more cool projects!
@sheilafriesen3598 hahaha I don't hate 2x4s, I use alot of pine and pallets. Yeah that's a glue trowel with pointed teeth, it did work good. Glad you liked and thanks for watching!
The pallet wood and 2by4 material both look great man, imma little meh on the painted ones myself but I can see their niche. Keep up the great small shop work!
Love seeing you guys in your first videos! Like watching a baby take his first steps 🤗😂 Then in a month y’all be runnin’! 😅☺️ Doing great! I often think about starting a TH-cam 🤔 then the thought floats 🛟away and I realize I don’t know anything yet and would probably run out of ADHD medication before it’s over 😂😂😂 Bigger balls than I fosho! Keep em comin’ Sir! I always need inspiration 💙 Thanks ☺️
@kimberwest7304 😄 🤣 😂 thank you! I was actually planning to just start in the new year, wasn't ready, didn't know how (still don't 😅). Just jumped in cold feet right what i was in the middle of. You should if you really want to for sure, figure it out as you go just like what I'm doing! Thanks for watching!
Really great video and love the project. Really like the bent wood railings. When yo mount it with the cleat did you need to add a small block on the back bottom or was the cleat alone enough to hold it even with the wall. Everyone loves adadaboglue. The only thing you are missing is Sugi Buggi 😀. Thank you for sharing, hope 2025 is going to be a great year for you and new subscriber so hoping for more videos.
@thomlindgren6253 I notched the shelf to put the cleat in glued it then bored a hole and screwed the cleat to the shelf then added a dowel as decoration, for the banding it was formed to fit that radius and I did the same thing glued screwed and added dowel and also the banding is screwed to the side of the main back so it also helps tie everything in. The dowel plugs are all for decoration. Hope this helps. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
@michaelsweet8327 thanks! I cut thin strips from the 2x4 for the banding. For the cutting of the circles I tried my scroll saw, but I'm better right now with my jigsaw because that's what I'm used to, I left my pencil line than sanded to the line. Thanks for watching!
@GirlBossProductions615 that piece might not be wide enough for a jigsaw or a circular saw, if you have a wider piece enough to have enough surface to secure the plate of either of those than yeah
That’s really cool!! initially I thought the band was actually metal
@WedoweeHandyman thanks! Yeah there is thin strips of aluminum probably could've used but was more fun making them lol
Me too. I do have some scrap metal and I could use that.
@tikcuf39 yeah I had a thin strip I was looking for, but i also wanted to fit the 2x4 full use in also, but definitely aging a piece of metal for the banding would look cool for sure!
Both are really cool!

That's really cool i must admit I don't like the painted one but the rustic looks a lot more nicer, brilliant mate you have a happy healthy new year

I really like these! Don't hate on the 2x4s too much, they look fantastic! 😁
I never thought of using a trowel to distress! Brilliant!
