    I am completely satisfied with how supermassive and bandai have expanded the world. It isn't an easy task to create an audio fiction series and answer major questions. It's a very ballsy move and I wish more people did this, I was sad about how shoes like lost and from have more questions that answers but little nightmares stays in that mid zone and keeps you engaged.

      It’s VERY ballsy to expand this type of universe wich in from a non-dedicated LN fan you can get any info out of either game wether through dialogue or the environment wich makes it more impressive how they were able to pull it of

    Thinking further into the Ferry Man's words and the details of transitioning into the nowhere, I'm reminded of the opening to the LN dlc: the kid swimming in a foggy, still, dark body of water before being dragged down.
    Also leaning further into the bits of the nowhere being separated NY a great ocean, the beach in LN2 when mono and six first arrive to the pale city feels really out of place. Like its less the edge of an island, and more the edge of a world.
    Additionally, nothing about the pale city suggests its of island origin, seemingly splitting off after that beach.
    There's also the dark mist closing in on Low and Alone at the end of the first LN3 necropolis showcase.

    This is a really good theory man, I always thought of the regions as eldritch eye-based horrors competing with eachother for dominance over the minds of the twisted human population of the world

    The little connections you're able to make is phenomenal! This was a fascinating watch and your videos are top quality and clearly have a great deal of effort and time put into them. Thank you for the most enjoyable 20 minutes. Though this detail probably means nothing, when Low uses mirrors to travel what looks like ripples in water appears on the mirror, perhaps alluding to this theory and that mirrors or reflections in general could be another form of connection in Nowhere. You've probably noticed that mirrors have a large presence in this world, and are seen or mentioned in many places.

    Whenever I think about Nowhere I always view it as one giant island but with the sea in the middle of it all along with several other worlds and places from other games.
    The way I view it is this: in the top middle is the Pale city that stretches for miles with the signal tower in the middle. On the right is the forest that covers the whole area with a valley on the top right called Evershade valley. At the end of the right is the mountains and the home of the Nest. On the left is a village where most of the podcast takes place in with the mall in a desert along with a factory. In between the village and the Spiral is the theme park Wasteland from Epic Mickey that is like the rest of Nowhere, with the Spiral next door to it. A massive desert lays behind all of the locations leading to a possible salvation but in the lore it is unknown. In the massive ocean is the Maw and at the very bottom is the location where Reanimal will take place.
    Love your explanation videos very well done

    I wasn’t too sure where you were going with this theory at first, but you made some great connections and points! I also want to note that Supermassive may have hinted in a PlayStation Blog that there may be a new chapter that is described as a clock mechanism of some sorts. Maybe we’ll get more information on the cosmology of the Nowhere in game!

    • @indiexplorergames
      @indiexplorergames  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeahhh...this one turned out kinda messy 😅 Maybe too many ideas for one video, especially with the whole intro bit. But I'm glad you enjoyed it!
      Also I just looked up at that blog post, it does indeed seem implied that the clockwork mechanism could be part of a new area...

  • @Sipliminal

    The ferryman might have also been connected, as evident by the line ‘no more bellman among our sea’ and ‘halo ascending above our sea’

    Loved this video!! This theory completely changes the way I see The Nowhere. The feeling of it reminds me of being a kid again, how I was in a world I couldn't understand, and how much shock I felt once I got older and began to realize that it's so much bigger-- so much more complex-- than I ever could've imagined. And that's a good thing, since Little Nightmares always does its best to make you sympathize with the traumatized children in its world. So if this theory is true, it would fit in well with that theme.
    Also, I think your point about people missing out on the podcast is very true. When I originally listened to the first episode, I liked it, but I wasn't interested enough to bother listening to the rest cuz I didn't think it would be scary enough to be a good Little Nightmares experience. But recently I tried listening to it again, and I fell in love. The horrific scenery is described so well, and it conveys the emotions of fear and panic perfectly. It's definitely still Little Nightmares, even if in a different format. Man, what will it take to convince people that trying new things is good... 😞

    TBF it may also be that audio fiction requires more interpretative work from the audience than visual mediums.
    Anyways I loved the oceanic/cosmic horror elements you brought up because I certainly caught that with the candleman. fascinating character

    My theory is that the "clock" thing is on the funfair. If I'm right, I beleive in LN3 we will go to the Carnival Noone mentioned in her nightmares in TSON. I say this to say that we might go into the depths of the Carnival and that might be a puzzle we'd have to solve. Also Noone mentioned the Carnival to be on some sort of a flying ship so that might explain why..

    I have a thought on 10:41. She describes there to be a pulsing red moon and then describes how it is not a moon, but a star. On one of the maps in the school section there is an atlas in the room with the chess pieces. On the atlas, there is a big red eye drawn on it, possibly where the eye is or just a representation of it. These islands are all in clusters and not necessarily all together.

    bro cooked connecting Noone's description with planet imagery in games. also I can't understand what they are saying in that audio book thing. Maybe it is the accent maybe it is the fact i am not a native speaker. I am glad to see some stuff you showed in the video

    • @indiexplorergames
      @indiexplorergames  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah it can be hard to hear what they're saying at times. Did you check to see if the podcast is available in your native language? If not, each episode has official captions now, so that might help!

    Do you think the clock frame in the trailer could be the stone giant in TSON first episode?

    • @indiexplorergames
      @indiexplorergames  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Possibly! It doesn't match the description of the clock face that Noone sees, since that one is white and on the ceiling, but this could easily be somewhere else in the structure.

    13:27 OK I’m gonna be honest I see what you but the carnival cannot be a ship. There’s no way they carry carnival. Stuff like the tents the caravans wagons even the ferris wheel can’t possibly fit to the ship it can’t be something like a cruise ship and also carnival cruise ships. Don’t carry Ferris wheel like it doesn’t make any sense. Remember the last time in the sounds of nightmares chapter 4 noone said how come the ship be in the air like what!? it makes no sense it has to be something like there in the docks or something.
