    Personally, my opinion is that all the other dreams are forays into the Nowhere, but this one is an actual nightmare, one greatly affected by the power of the Nowhere but not a direct connection. It’s the most abstract of the dreams, and it reflects Noone’s feelings towards Otto; a disturbing and selfish individual disguised as a comforting gift giver that attempts to goad its “subject” into staying with it. Or it could be Mono in the signal tower. The loneliness theme seems pretty on the nose. Either way, this is definitely the most intriguing dream to me. All the others are obviously just “Noone briefly visits an actual location in the Nowhere” while this one is freaky and abstract.

    I've been playing through this game over the past week or two. I think it's a fantastic game. The only issue I've really had with it is the story telling. It was clear that they were trying to tell a deep story with lots of lore and stuff, and obviously this video proves it. Unfortunately, it all comes across in game as a complete mess, and most people have no clue about what is actually happening. The game's reputation suffers because of it. There is too much random bits of information scattered all over the world in various forms. It makes things hard to piece it all together when you've got one sentence on an item that links up with another sentence on another item that you find 10 hours later. So it's really great to see a video like this put all that random information together so that we don't have to. Things really were as good as I thought they were. If there ever ends up being a sequel or whatever, then I really hope they work on conveying the story better. A deep involving story requires some form of cohesive story telling. Even with a big open world like this, the flow of information can still be controlled and fed to the player in a way that makes sense, and follows an actual storyline. And cut down on the unnecessary mystery elements. Ifree isn't fooling anyone. I knew within the first quarter of the game that he was a Goliath of some sort. Just like I knew immediately when seeing the cloaked girl taking Aros' soul in Rubiwood, that she was just helping her instead of doing anything nefarious. But no, the game has to draw out the mystery with everything, and then finally give a plot dump at the end, which by that point most people don't care anymore. People need information in order to stay interested and invested. As for my opinion, I think Renee is Luca. We don't know who Renee actually is, and she doesn't even truly know who she is anymore either. Like it was said in the video, that Renee could potentially be really old and just being reborn over and over. The only thing we know is that she was the first member of the Ode, but we don't know where those Ode members came from. Renee is clearly special and unique compared to anyone else. Of course she is able to be reborn instantly no matter what, but she also has magical and spiritual abilities that nobody else is capable of doing. She can interact with the afterimages which are a direct thing from Luca. I don't think anyone else is capable of doing that. She's also the only one that has had her memory shard split to create resonants, which means again that she is unique. She also isn't part of the tablet, just like Luca isn't. There is a few other things that point in that direction as well. It's all something that could lead into a sequel if there ever was one.

    9:21 To grant quarter mean to show mercy. I took this part to mean that the ferryman would 'kindly' allow Otto to cross over to Nowhere but, as you said, he'd have to pay a price.

    I imagine the granny, thin man, geisha and butler have some form of abuse tied to them. The Butler could be a family friend that got a little too 'friendly' with a child. The Geisha may be an older sibling who is viewed as better than the younger and mistreats them. The Thin Man and Granny may be an abusive parent or grandparent, who are stuck in their ways.

    I'm very torn between wanting the land we're playing on in this game to be set on top of Land's End, so we can visit old EL locations and ruins to see how they've changed over the hundreds of years (kind of similar to recurring locations in Dark Souls 1 and 3) because that would be dope and also nostalgic, but I also want this to be in one of the other 5 nations that is not Land's End, because that means we could perhaps get 4 more Ender games after this one, each in different nations. Not that having this game set in Land's End would stop them from doing so anyway, but still. In regards to the video: - I may not be remembering ending C of Lilies that clearly, but here you state that Lily was the only survivor. Didn't Fretia also survive with ending C and venture out back to the surface with Lily? - I'm also interested in the naming scheme of these two games, if Nola does indeed turn out to be Magnolia and the namesake of the game. The first game was named after the playable character Lily, not Umbral Knight. Now this game is named after what is possibly another Umbral Knight, instead of Lilac. Were the developers just worried that Lilac is too close to Lily? Or will Nola have a much more major part of the story later on, on Lily's level of purpose? I'm excited to see.

    • @indiexplorergames
      @indiexplorergames 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Fretia does not survive Ending C in the flesh, but her spirit lingers on to watch over Lily in some capacity - that's probably what you're thinking of. After being purified, she tells Lily: "It's time I should be leaving. I'll be watching over you," after which she dissolves in a shimmer of light. It is also Fretia speaking in the post-credits scene: "...The Blight may have taken them, but they are still watching over us. And...I will never leave your side."

    I have a thought on 10:41. She describes there to be a pulsing red moon and then describes how it is not a moon, but a star. On one of the maps in the school section there is an atlas in the room with the chess pieces. On the atlas, there is a big red eye drawn on it, possibly where the eye is or just a representation of it. These islands are all in clusters and not necessarily all together.

    Sacrifice, Love, Eternity. The keys are popularly thought to correspond with Leave, Memory and Promise, but maybe there's more they could tell us about Artifact based on the names and symbols. We've seen them twice before. Clockwise from the top, the plates unlocking the path to the Red Gate go Eternity, Knowledge, Flesh, Love, Balance, Sacrifice. While there isn't a lock for Eternity, the order of the symbols is the same as the entrance to the surgery room, so Knowledge = Air, Flesh = Water, Love = Gold (K for König/King?), Balance = Earth and Sacrifice = Fire. So two of the keys to Artifact could also be interpreted as Fire and Gold. The interesting things about this are Earth/Balance and Water/Flesh. To start with, Earth had to be printed onto a blank key because the original was embedded in rock, possibly mined ore, leaving Elster to examine it under the x-ray to see the needed pattern. The symbol next to Earth's lock shows one triangle in another triangle, but Balance only shows the inner (downward-facing) triangle, which coincidentally corresponds with the alchemical sign for earth-element. Similarly, the sign for Water is a circle half-filled like a moon at half-wane, whereas in Nowhere, the circle for Flesh is filled in. (Well, as long as I'm pointing out differences, Fire is filled in while Sacrifice is only outlined, but they're otherwise the same hexagon at the same orientation.) About Eternity, though. It's represented by a single elongated starburst in Nowhere, but door to the surgery room doesn't have a sixth lock where an elemental correspondence with Eternity would go because the starburst symbol at the same placement is so positioned because it's the lowest point of a three-star symbol. It's a symbol associated with bioresonance and may even be how Eusan marks known bioresonants, given that they also show up on the brow of a gestalt in the medical files. So "Eternity" may correspond with bioresonance itself. That's as far as I could get, but this might yet tell us something we missed about how Artifact fits in with the other endings. The keys to unlock that ending are Sacrifice (Fire), Love (Gold/King) and Eternity (bioresonance), and show the same symbols as the plates with those names.

    • @verdantViridity
      @verdantViridity 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Now, to cover all bases, let's also include the hexagonal tarot spread. The order of populated heavenly bodies from the sun outward go Buyan, Vineta, Kitezh, Heimat, Rotfront, Leng, but in the spread they go Heimat, Vineta, Rotfront, Leng, Kitezh, Buyan. And clockwise, the used cards go the Star, the Tower, the Moon, Death, the Lovers and the Sun. Hence, Eternity/bioresonance = Star, Knowledge/Air = Tower, Flesh/Water = Moon, Love/Gold = Death, Balance/Earth = Lovers, Sacrifice/Fire = Sun. Thus, as cards, the keys to Artifact would be the Star, the Sun and Death. The art on the cards in Eternity, Love and Sacrifice's positions confirm that the order is the same- a regular hexagon in the Sun, the elongated starbursts in the Star, and hidden in the center of the rose on Death is the sign for Love- an upward-facing triangle cut into an irregular hexagon.

    • @verdantViridity
      @verdantViridity 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Okay, so this means that, in order of key retrieval: A card that represents ends and transitions (Death) references the key that quotes Ariane's diary entries from cycles 888 and 1024 about her love for Elster. A card that represents faith and renewal (the Star) references the key that simply remarks upon unsolvable mystery and inescapable grief. And a card that represents victory and celebration (The Sun) references the key that paraphrases Revelations 8:8-9 and may be Lilith's memories of the war on Vineta. Thrice in a row, the cards are... strangely oppositional to the keys they correspond with... if we only look at their upright meanings. Because in a tarot reading, the way they're shuffled makes it so cards can be drawn upright or reversed. Death reversed can mean repetition or an inability to move forward. The Star reversed can mean hopelessness and crushed faith. The Sun reversed can mean pessimism or unrealistic expectations. Despair, despair, despair. Tarot was used for fortune-telling, and Artifact does seem to convey an endeavor to reverse fate. So maybe those are the key words here. Reverse. Set right. Upright. The upright meanings of Death, the Star and the Sun match up with what Elster is after.

    • @verdantViridity
      @verdantViridity วันที่ผ่านมา

      Another observation: the Sierpinski facility is named after the Sierpiński triangle, which is different from their logo. The logo points down instead of up, and repeats the shape outward rather than inward. The pillars in the false ending have triangles that look like the Sierpiński triangle, and have concave dots where the Sierpinski logo has smaller triangles. If the dots are omissible, then the symbol matches Earth. And if the above is true, Earth is exchangeable with Balance and the Lovers. The Lovers card is found embedded in a painting of the Isle of the Dead, reciprocating the relation with that scene. Upright, the Lovers can mean connection, union or partnerships, and reversed, it can mean distrust, disconnect or disharmony. I can't recall a pair of vertical lines (Knowledge/Air), unless the Red Gate counts, or a half-moon (Water) apart from the tarot puzzle itself, but the entrance to Nowhere (where "kyklos" flashes on screen) could be counted as the circle for Flesh. The Shore of Oblivion scenes include the excerpt "it calls me- in a sea of flesh- we will become one- but i can never go back- to being me." I can't recall a pair of vertical lines (Knowledge/Air), unless the Red Gate counts, or a half-moon (Water) apart from the tarot puzzle itself, but the entrance to Nowhere (where "kyklos" flashes on screen) could be counted as the circle for Flesh. The Shore of Oblivion scenes include the excerpt "it calls me- in a sea of flesh- we will become one- but i can never go back- to being me." Although, a sea of flesh is also mentioned in the dream diary entry that relates the Tower to Vineta, and the second Shore of Oblivion scene ends with a star falling into the sea, echoing the description on the Key of Sacrifice. So it may have to be confirmed by the presence of a printed/carved symbol. The Moon upright can mean dreams, illusion, intuition or mystery, and reversed can mean revealing the truth or lying to oneself. The Tower upright can mean disaster, trauma or violence, and reversed can mean averted crisis, delaying the inevitable or resistance to change. I know the same symbols show up around the same world each time- Buyan = Fire, Vineta = Air, Kitezh = Earth, Rotfront = Water, Heimat = [Eternity/bioresonance(?)], Leng = Gold- but is there anywhere else we've seen a pair of vertical lines (Knowledge/Air/the Tower) or circles, or a half-moon circle (Flesh/Water/the Moon)?

    just saw your Ender Lilies Lore and then this vid was recommended. honestly, while the gameplay was good in this game, the Lore never felt too fleshed out and the "endings" this game showcased simply left more riddles than answers for most of it. the convenient amnesia whenever necessary and the odd side-kick just felt like rather convenient choices the devs made up to reveal their potential impact as we go and they do play their part one way or another. i'm curious about this lore, and am about to start watching this video, but i doubt it will change my feelings i have about the game.

    finished this game recently. my only issue with it, aside the way the story is being told in a dystopia with everything already happened and we're just trying to piece the informations together, would be the amount of monsters roaming around which made it at times hard to just appreciate the art for a moment by looking around. from what it seems, the sequel game also expands onto this which is revealed in a very familiar area in the early access.

    The hands and mannequins were made by the broadcast, In a scene on the first pre alpha trailer for ln2, you can see one being animated by the tvs. Still don't quite understand how the monster baby was made but that's a good theory.

    Signalis has been such a wild ride for me, from picking it up just because I thought it looked cool, to it becoming my favourite game of all time. by FAR. I knew nothing about the game when I first started playing it. Thus I had no spoilers and was able to experience this all by my self to its fullest. I genuinely think this game is a masterpiece of creative writing and even for all its praise it is *severely* underrated. I cried during the entire credits the first time I beat it. I got the Promise ending. This game is the ONLY piece of media (book/tv show/movie/video game/anything with writing) that has made me cry. And I ugly cried. I cared so much about the characters and about their life and the promise. Tonight I just finished the Artifact ending. At this point I only looked up *how* to get this ending. I still didn't know any ending besides the Promise. I cried again. I was so happy to see Elster and Ariane together again, but I quickly realized that the promise wasn't kept, and whatever happened changed a lot of reality. After thinking on it, I do not think that either the Promise ending or the Artifact ending is the *correct* ending. But it boils down to this to me: The Promise ending is the sad ending, but the good ending The Artifact ending is the happy ending, but the bad ending. In the Promise ending I somewhat assume that reality returns back to normal for everybody else after this, so good for everyone besides Ariane and Elster, who obviously die. In the Artifact ending Elster locks in Ariane's dream reality and I assume the cancer among the six worlds spreads further. Either the lesbians die or the rest of the world dies. Also a little thing I figured out (probably been figured out often before, but I came to this conclusion myself): The first room in Sierpinski you reach after getting the guest pass, there is a security camera right outside of the door you need the Protektor key to access. You can interact with it and it say's Elster's internal dialogue something along the lines of "A security camera. I wonder who's watching." The interesting thing that I found was that whenever you found a security camera in a room, it was always on. It always followed you and only you. Not any other enemy replikas. Just *you*. I think that the security cameras *also* represent Ariane watching your progression, much like the invisible red eye overlay.

    Ok, so I have an extremely outlandish theory, which is mostly just speculation but would be really cool if it were the case. Let me explain. Also, this'll be a long one. Have fun reading the brainchild of my tendency to overthink things and current Little Nightmares hyperfixation. Clearly, time doesn’t really function in the Nowhere. Or, more accurately, it doesn’t function linearly. It's a never-ending loop. Not one where the story plays out and then it all resets, starting back at the beginning, but instead one where the loop continuesly feeds into itself, with actions taken in the future/present affecting what happened in the past. {For example: Going with the already-kinda-confirmed theory that Mono is just a past version of the Thin Man, we know that Mono would not have become the Thin Man if it weren't for Thin Man's own actions. Mono's future actions led to what happened to him in the LN2. It's a loop.} So going with the theory that something that happened on or in relation to the Maw {whether it be the creation of the giant baby or something else, such as Six's actions at the end of the first game} at least had a hand to play in the downfall of the Necropolis, and also assuming that Necropolis was created and fell into ruin long before the Maw became a thing {based on the differences in how old they look/the technology they have}, maybe that is a loop in itself? Maybe, stay with me here, something that happened in Necropolis either; a). led to the creation of the Pale City {due to a need for escapism}, which itself led to the creation of the Maw {because eating can be a form of escapism}, or b). led to the creation of the Maw in itself {hunger? not enough food in the desert? perhaps the kids weren't the only ones starving and those bodies hanging were from that}, with the Pale City forming independently. And, whichever way it happened, the Necropolis ended up eventually falling due to something that happened on the Maw, a vessel created who knows how long after the city had already fallen. So, basically an endless time loop of: Necropolis exists -> Necropolis falls -> Fall of Necropolis leads to the existence of the Pale City -> Existence of Pale City leads to the creation of the Maw -> Existence of the Maw leads to the downfall of Necropolis -> Fall of Necropolis leads to the existence of the Pale City, which then leads to the creation of the Maw, which leads to the fall of Necropolis.. over and over again. But all of this is happening outside of the flow of time, with the past, present, and future co-existing together, hence why it all seems to be out of order.

    If the elster in Sierpinski is S2301 and the one in nowhere and rotfront is unknown since the number is corrupted on the death screen, who is the elster of the beginning of the game (the one on the penrose with the missing ariane)?

      I believe that is LSTR-512, the original - or more specifically, the final memory/identity of Elster that is being transmitted by Ariane through the Magpie Signal. I touch on this in my Part 1 video, about 47 minutes & 20 seconds in.

    The “collector” is actually a tosher, as explained by the episode’s writer ItsJustJord! It was a real occupation from the Victorian era where workers excavated lost items from the sewers.

    I love how feminine this game is. The white priestess are all women, after all. It is a woman duty and pride to burden and soothe the pain of others, and to shoulder it herself. Despite the more male oriented role of all the knights we see in the game, it was the female one who was the key to victory, not strength via violence, but pity and patience. And yes, I am quoting Tolkien next: She is acquainted with grief, and mourns for every wound that the World has suffered in the marring of it. But she does not weep for herself; and those who hearken to her learn pity, and endurance in hope; and all those who wait in purgatory cry to her, for she brings strength to the spirit and turns sorrow to wisdom.
