  • Finding the abandoned deadliest race track...with a pit stop at INDY! Though there wasn't any racing, we took a chance that a three hour drive might get us behind the scenes of Indiana's Jungle Park Speedway...making a pit stop at American's GREATEST speedway (at least in our opinion) in Indianapolis and checking out other fun sites along the way like the restored DX gas station and Rotary Jail! If you're anything like us, you're wondering "What the heck is a rotary jail?" Though we had some somber moments tracking down these race tracks, we had a lot of fun we'd like to share, so get your favorite drink, sit back and see how we compare the world's greatest speedway to America's deadliest!
Thanks for taking the Off Ramp to adventure! We maximize the fun showing you interesting and unusual one-of-a-kind adventures...from roadside attractions and historic sites to exciting events with relevant information.

The history of the Jungle Park Speedway is amazing! If I owned it, I'd allow visitors after they paid a $10 fee and signed a waiver. History needs to be honored, and your video helps to keep the history and memory of this place alive. Thank you for sharing with us!

We enjoyed your "Biggest Spectacle in Racing" tour, Jim and Vanesa! Shame the museum was closed, but it's great the gift shop was available to spend your money, 😁😁I recall the DX stations. Hey Jim, Vanesa we weren't there, but were at the one in my hometown! We love the small towns in the heartland of America too. Lovely Victorian architecture here, despite the👻👻👻's. Enjoyed seeing what you could of the old racetrack and it's great that there's ice cream nearby! Crawfordsville. I think that's where Terri and Keith from "Retired and Loving it" are from. Don't think they're living in the jail though. Sounds quite dangerous and they still have both arms! 🤣🤣Instead of the 50 stars we left you a big like! Thanks for bringing us along.

Been to the Indy museum and did the track tour back in 1987. That gas station was neat, but the houses were very cool. Too bad the racetrack was off limits. Thanks for the episode!

Yall hit a lot of cool historic spots in this one. Interesting to learn what victory smells like. LOL. The story of Jungle Park Speedway is fascinating and sad. I had never heard of a rotary jail before. Very interesting. It did sound unsafe as you described it. So I am not surprised to learn rotary jails are no longer used due to related injuries. Thanks for taking us along on another very interesting day trip!

I just came across your video and I just wanted to let you guys know a fun fact about the track. There are a few cars that used to be raced on the track that are still on the property, they were abandoned.

I remember that, my uncle use to be a truck driver and he would make runs to Atlanta and bring back about six cases of cokes from the plant.

The buildings up the hill from the entrance to jungle park are also part of the race track history..

Nascar got it start at the streamline hotel on the top floor with the creation of nascar. There first race was in Charlotte north carolina.

We evidently had an information fail, too. Guess that's what can happen when you look up info online. Thanks for the correction! We appreciate your visit!
