Roy Vogt.. Soooo true.. Man is an absolute legend.. I believe he had a week to prepare for the concert.. 😁 What a music genius.. Respect respect respect...
@@markgoldberg2223 "Tell us?" "Should we?" No Mark, it's just you. Everyone else got the joke, which, I might add, was quite obvious. Troll elsewhere, please.
I've seen this done a hundred times, and every time, I watch it just to see Gambale steal the show with his amazing solo. Wow so much talent on that stage.
Very lovely and I miss Chick. I saw the Chick Corea Elektric Band three times in the late 80's and met the band in person after one of the gigs. Chick and the lads were kind enough to sign my ticket and chat. Chick was a class act altogether and his proteges were also most accommodating. Each and every member of the band excelled and jammed in concert.
RIP Chick. Will miss your playing and how your groups and songs were a platform for so many great players to make great music. It's hard to complain when you had a long career and put so much out there - but I'm feeling greedy and it would be nice to keep getting more. But thanks for always keeping the 'play' in your playing. It has been and will continue to be an inspiration...
Heavy Monsters on this stage, one of the few that still live today. A blessing to watch this, and please, build 100 statues for Gambale! He nails it every time😍
Wow What a Band!! Frank is the Man no question about it He always takes it to another level!!! And Nathan did an amazingly Fantastic job keeping it Funky and exposing layers that even Chick did not know was there! Incredible
Chick: The master! Eric Merienthal: So tasty! Nathan East: Who knew?!?! Weckl: Dudes my fav drummer! Gambale: Friggin alien! Great video, thanks for posting!
So many critics of East's performance on this. No one on that stage would have been there if Chick didn't think they were going to do a good enough job to make him and the audience happy. Why do we spend more time trying to figure out what's wrong with stuff than what's right with stuff? I understand that as I've spent too much of my 67 years being that way, especially when my kids were young.
Yeah, he was a little nervous... A testament to Chick's capacity to evoke tremendous respect from monsters like Mr. East. All fantastic musicians here!
It's very hard to fill in John Pat's shoes and Nathan found out. I have to give him credit, this is a very tough gig. Nat would need another month with the band to stay with them.
It’s not just about musicality, it’s also personality. Nathan is a great guy and can adapt to any setup. This is definitely not a gig that you can just slip into. Virtuos, all of them.
Nathan East on bass! I swear there's no gig that man can't do! Everything from Toto to Chick, from Clapton to Herbie Hancock.
Also with Joe Satriani.
Bet he was replacing Patitucci on an emergency. And the man still delivered. My bass hero!
Roy Vogt.. Soooo true.. Man is an absolute legend.. I believe he had a week to prepare for the concert.. 😁 What a music genius.. Respect respect respect...
He did an amazing job. You can see him sweating a couple of times- but it's a testament to his talent that he can pull this gig off!

Agreed
Me: Everyone has their damn phone out. can't you just enjoy the show?
Also me: Thanks for recording this!

Goddamn this hits hard. Feels like I’m talking with him in that call in response part. Rest In Peace Chick Corea
That look in Nathan’s eyes...no matter how hard a bass part is, somehow he’s going to nail it. This is brilliant.

@@RorroBass im sure he's done the practice, but sometimes your not faxing human, but legends
Nathan wouldn’t even be up there if Chick had a shred of a doubt that he could pull it off.
Wonder where Patitucci was on this one? Either way this base playing is covering all the basis quite nicely. Miss you Chick!! 🎶🎵

Nathan East is not quite John Patitucci, but he fits the bill pretty well still.
Nunna Yuh bitness I agree. This was the encore, but during the whole of the concert he turned out to be more than capable!
He's more groovy that's for sure
Crawford High School's own Nathan East, his brother is the Priest from the East, Father Ray East!!

Mr. East can really play.
I like the “A Love Supreme” call and response starting at 1:10.
