About the instruments they are playing:
Yamaha KX5 Keytar
Chick Corea uses during this concert the Yamaha KX5, a master laptop keyboard from 1984. This is a 37-key keyboard covering a range from C2 to C5 with MIDI connectors permitting the remote stand-up performance of the keyboard instruments.
Yamaha TRB JP TDR
John Patitucci plays the Yamaha TRB JP II, a 6-string electric bass. The TRB series was born during the'80s to cover a wider tonal range, both in the low and high frequencies. The four-layer laminate body is constructed from veneers of curly maple, ash, alder and maple. This design produces a precise and intense resonance throughout the instrument's register.
Ibanez 540S-LPF
Frank Gambale plays the 540S-LPF Dessert Yellow. His first signature model, the FGM100 (the first of the Frank Gambale series) by Ibanez, introduced in 1991 is based on this 540S-LPF but has different pickups. The FMG100 was one of the 15 guitars that had been stolen from Frank Gambale house in 2004.
Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, serial #201695
Eric Marienthal always showed a predilection for the Alto Saxophone. The Mark VI was introduced by Selmer Paris in 1954. Many Jazz giants have used the Mark VI, including Dexter Gordon, Ornette Coleman, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter and John Coltrane. - เพลง
This band! It sounds corny if you listen to it with the wrong mindset. When I was a teenager discovering chick and the electric band was a huge thing for me, feels so nostalgic listening them now.
Teemu Kekkonen same here. Started listening to chick corea about 13 years old. It only sounds corny to those that have a radio ear and not a musicians ear. And talk about nostalgia! Chick corea will always be #1 with me. Forever.
I've only been listening to Chick for maybe 3-4 years now, but his music sounds nostalgic to me, I hear his influences in so much of the music I listened to as a kid, i.e., 90s video game music.
Yeah... I really feel nostalgic listening Light Years. It makes me go back to my teen years and my first gigs as a bass player. I still have that old black T-shirt with the multi colored logo of this incredible band. Thanks for sharing!
Rest in peace grand master Chick Corea.
whenever my girlfriend wants me to drive, I always insist on listening to Light Years. she never asks me to drive anymore and I owe it all to this band. 10/10 would recommend
Haha lmao! I imagine you living in an alternate version of Miami where the year is 1987, and you drive a DeLorean DMC-12.
You need a new girlfriend
LOL.
This is easily the very funniest comment I have ever seen on TH-cam.
🤣
R.I.P Chick Corea 🖤🥺
I love this band! They got me introduced to Jazz/Fusion when I was only listening to Metal.
John Pattituci doing what he does best! Epic bass groove!
What the wild blazes is weckl doing on that instrument!!!
Very cool
Never imagined to see him on anything like that wild
Frank's guitar is loud as fxxk in the mix, even when he's playing rhythm.
And I have NO PROBLEM with it whatsoever. 😁
I m guitarist but John Patitucci (the bassist) is a killer!!
Hey, we learn from all our brothers and sisters.
So that thing Weckl is playing is a Dynacord Rhythm Stick from 1986. Apparently it's a MIDI controller, and he's using it to trigger the stock sounds from a Yamaha RX5 probably hiding somewhere on stage. So strange and fascinating.
Thank you!!! Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
maybe @LOFTmusic can add some of this info to the description
Muchísimas gracias por la información 👍🏼😁 ese instrumento no se ve en estos dias
Eric Marienthal is the man!
This is the best fusion band I've heard.
R.I.P & LOVE Chick.
You were an Angel.
You will never be forgotten Maestro Chick Corea! Your music has always been a big part of my childhood and my Music! Your legacy and your music will forever live on!
Are we going to ignore that Weckl plays a MIDI drum guitar..?
Saw the Eletrik tour at North Idaho college, such a great show!
Gambale is a genius, the way his guitar sounds is amazing, so cool
Frank with them steps, live that funk housing! Master musicians.
Jerry Seinfeld killing it on the drumitar.
Normcore fusion
Thats a drum?
Wtf is that thing even doing?
What instrument is that? So Futureman wasn't the first?
I think that’s Dave Weckl. One of the best drummers on the world.
Best Fusion Band forever!!!👍👍
Rest in peace, Chick Corea.
Never knew this band has been on for this long.

Dave Weckl tocando bajo, esa no me la sabia
Thank God for the late Chick Corea and this awesome band…this band introduced a whole new generation to the music of Corea and jazz…for my generation, this is the touchstone.
Sólo ésto me faltaba!!! Es impresionante!!!
If that band got back together in remembrance of Chick, Jeff Lorber, should fill in. And the rest of the band wouldn't miss a beat. All in the name of Chick.
My fav from this album and one of my favs from the Elektric era. They just had such fun playing this one.
This is without doubt the greatest band ever!
Patitucci con bajo de 4 cuerdas esta OVER POWER
Fenómeno Chick Corea me transporta en un viaje ancestral.... ✋🎩👍
Chick to Eric @3:43 - “Since you decided to wear your PJs tonite, I’m gonna go ahead and dock your pay the rest of tour, alright?”, Eric replies, “Okay, but will you still match my 401K?”
Watch the chick Corea shreds video. John looks like he's wearing hospital scrubs 😆
RIP Chick and thank you.
Son muy grandes!
What a show! Dave Weckl on bass!!! :D
Twas an interesting use of a midi device.
That was the drums, not bass. Notice no fretboard and just a small set of buttons. Sound samples are assigned to each button. Literally everybody is sleeping on that genius here loll
And Patitucci on drums
5 monsters !! pure beauty
That could’ve been their name or title of one of their cds
Yes this is so good
Esta misma banda los vi en Monterrey Mexico, estuvieron a principios de los 90s, al igual que la acustic band
Show muito bom 🙂
Weckl on Bass !
Me duermo contento😊
Wtf! This is amazing…
Come for the outstanding musicianship and the unique intro. Stay for the young Eric Marienthal performing in a clown suit.
Cuando escucho esta música ya No puedo soportar más el reggeaton..

3:22 Frank Gambale begins rhythmically clapping with a wry smile on his face. After a couple of seconds the saxophonist joins in.
🤣🤣
well god damn, imagine they played at a school talent show
Hearing John playing funk styles is so weird hahaha
R.i.p. Chick
what is the name of the instrument that Dave weckl played in the beginning?

Those Italians genes, Corea, Gambale, Patitucci.

Ese fue bajista de Toto? Y el guitarrista se parece a Frank Gambale
Bajo volumen... Que pasó?
Did not know Peyton Manning played saxophone
nobody talks about weckl fucking with time like it's tuesday
Any idea what year this was?
What in the heck is that thing that Weckl is playing at the beginning?
Dynacord Rhythm Stick
wahh
Did I hear The Lick™ at 7:16?
Scott Henderson my friend
That’s the man...
Henderson? Thats Frank Gambale
pound aloudsound I’m saying Henderson fits perfect with Electric Band.
For me a way better than F Gambale . I know the one on this video is F Gambale.
Yeah
What kind of drum is this?
Dynacord Rhythm Stick
*The left and right speaker channels are reversed... Frank's guitar is coming out of the left speaker..., and Eric's sax is coming out of the right speaker... It's frustrating when watching while listening...*
Missing the goat
What the hell does weckl have here ? Oh wow !!!!
Dynacord Rhythm Stick
Who is guitar player? Frank Gabale?
Frank Gambale
I'm here because of Chick Corea dying. What is that instrument the guy is playing at the beginning that looks like a bass without any strings.
Midi drumitar.
Dave Weckl.
Wait Weckl plays bass?
He does, but not at the level of Patitucci. He's NOT playing bass here. What he's playing here is a '86 Dynacord Rhythm Stick
卧嘈, 好年輕喎
Started listening to Chick in 1971 at age 9 wth my big brother, never stopped,R.I.P. Chick
Is he Dave Weckl ?
Yep! With a Dynacord Rythm Stick in the beggining.
The one and only, of course he is
Ерік Марієнтал з прапором України на спині вже в ті роки! 🇺🇦👍👍☀️
Casiopea vibes
TERRIBLEEEE EL SLAPPPPP 😀😀😀🤩🤩🙃🙃🙃🎸🎸🎸
Poor Weckl. He’s not comfortable at all.
Robot Band
That's some rough sound engineering, even a raw untouched board drop would have been better.
This literally couldn't get more eighties even if you had axl rose come out and start hitting his girlfriend
Awful 80's
frank gambale plays bad completely out of timing meaningless cascdes of notes MIKE STERN........
Yeah but the saxophone and bass are awesome
Gambale is God
I'm sorry you don't comprehend rhythmic syncopation. :(
Gambale is a genius, the way his guitar sounds is amazing, so cool
