My 6th gen Intel NUC died and needs some troubleshooting love. in this unscripted, stream of consciousness video, I share a few pointers on electronics troubleshooting.
I am having exactly the same problem. Mine was caused because I removed the M2 SSD without powering off (yea learned my lesson). I just googled up and this video came up. The diode was burnt like black so It wasn't too hard to find. I would love to know how you went from here, did you manage to fix It?
Mine died out of the blue. I replaced the burned mosfet. Seeing that I had no schematics, that it's a many-laysr board, and that I'm not Ken Sharriff, and finally that I have to value my time, I dumped it. It was a sad end to the NUC! Thanks for sharing your story.
No. Without a schematic, it would take a lot of time to reverse engineer the power supply. Quite likely, it was a fault between PCB layers. I scrapped the board after pulling off some fun components.
@@nickydoes I have a somewhat similar issue withg my mini pc. It does not fully boot when I plug it in. I tried resetting the CMOS but it still goes into standby mode when I plug it in. I may try replacing the CMOS battery if I can figure out where to find it.
I had similar issu on a n intel Nuc 6 generation. I sent it to repair, apparently it’s a well know problem on these motherboard, still near the jack where the power is coming ….
It was fun, not sure I'll go down that road. You have an amazing lab, btw.
Thanks!
This repair attempt was a bust. Not worth the time, though I really liked that NUC!
What does it mean when you pkug what you think is a suitable power supply into the NUC and the power switch lights up amber?

I have a intel nuc but i do not have the cord for pluging it in
You ever made a part 2 or eventually fixed it?

hello . how much can cost to change that chip ? it burnt mine too...this intel nuc are craps
Whatever the cost, it was higher than the value of the NUC. I scavenged a few interesting parts and scrapped the rest.
I have same problem here, this Mosfet SM3303 are in short circuit, removing this component, short circuit gone, now i'm waiting other come fron china.
Bummer! I already scavenged parts and discarded the unit. Hope it helps someone!
Hi. Did the replacement MOSFET fix your problem?
