Anthony Weaver. Didn't take a "Somebody I know" job when offered. Instead he wanted to improve his craft and acknowledged his weaknesses. How to use more sophisticated defensive schemes and concepts. Went to an awesome football school. The Baltimore Ravens and John Harbaugh. Tells you a lot about his character as a life long learner.
I live in Brevard and Seminole county and we get no Dolphins coverage up here...I really appreciate the South Florida Sports Press's coverage of my boyhood team (I'm so old I still remember Shula's first press conference)...Great jobs gentlemen.
Maybe they wanted to split up the years when all the contracts come due? They have Phillips and Holland next year. So they don't come due at the same time?
Holland is a FA at the end of the year. 2 more yrs of control on Phillips

Hyde, exactly, about developing Guards. This is why, year 1 of Coach McDaniel tenure, he should have double dipped on Oline, and then seek to sign as many guards and centers he could get via UDFA. By now, McDaniel, should AT LEAST developed, one Guard and one Center, that is either starting caliber (two players), and ONE quality backup. I am not saying it's easy, but they got to try harder.
I wanted Zach Tom, OT/OG (Wake Forest) instead of Erik Ezukanma in the 4th. Then in the 7th, instead of drafting, Cameron Goode, I wanted a 1st Round talent there, in Rasheed Walker, OT (Penn State), who fell due to injuries. Both have contributed to the Packers. The ONLY Guard, this coaching staff can say, they have truly developed, is Robert Jones. And even Jones, is hit and miss. He can't be relied upon to even be a solid backup. This is unacceptable with an offensive minded coach. Nearly sounds like when Philbin was hired, and he didn't have the Oline he wanted.
I have no idea of what will happen on Sunday. Generally I think the Phins do pretty well in the first half of the season and then, well, we know it’s a different season. I hope this year it’s different. Been a fan since the early 1970s. Win or lose I love the Phins here in ATL. Not sure why the OL was not a priority in the off season. Every year same story. If Tua goes down there goes the season.
just like any of the other top-tier teams.. of they're healthy, they'll be fine. We still have yet to see this teams full potential with only one game with 90% or better starter participation and I believe that was v Denver.
No O Line means no power running game/short yardage against good teams & bad weather. We saw how finesse yields to physicality. We are seeing the new version of the Marino years.
@@louissartor6294 if Mahomes goes down, there goes their season. if Josh Allen goes down, there goes their season ..ditto for all 32 teams. Yes, we all wanted a top tier C/G but it is what it is so well have to settle for the same measly top scoring offense as last year (with improvements at RB, TE and Center and middling O-linemen which will actually be able to start 80%+ of their games together) Looks good to me until shown differently On the Field.
@@mactownsend2890 CG seems to not to make the OL a priority in terms of upgrading this unit. We shall see how this affects the team at the end of the season. I am not optimistic. I agree with what you are saying.

You guys are correct.. The Dolphins are a PR show, and Grier is all about yes men. I hope we win, but at the end of the day, we are average and worse than last year on D..

IMO, with Jaelan and Ramsey both on the field (and healthy) our defense has a chance to be very good.

All these money being passed around and we couldnt offer Wilkins more? He did everything right, durable, and coming into his prime.
The team afraid I ever getting competition at the quarterback position may hurt somebody’s feelings and they diminished their ability to do that job because they’re not a grown-up like if someone else says they not a baby which I know that so they need to act like an adult and just do the job

My problem is if they blow up and someone else gets a big contract elsewhere. They are still going to want to be paid again.

Did Mike McDaniels work on HIS game this off season? For play calling are we going to see a speed chess genius or will we watch the lost in deep thought Hamlet fritter his team's play clock down to delay of game again?
Dolphins still have not done much to improve their performance at the end of the year, which is to not just stay healthy but play tougher with a big running back and more run stuffers. But hopefully Tua and McDaniel continue to improve.
We don’t know that until the end of this season.
@@BillyBatsonMarvellol we have 4 years of consistently failing late season against anyone half way good. Tua keeps showing us what he is: an aspiring golfer.
Addition by subtraction.. Yes Miami lost a couple 1a and 1b players but also brought in or have had guys step up seemingly that are 1b or 2nd string borderline starters whom will dilute the chances of any one player ruining tje season by being out. A lot more interchangeable guys on O-line and D-line along with upgrades at TE LBer S and CB being healthy. This IS a different team if you've been watching, listening and believing.

Poup, everyone keeps saying a playoff win is necessary to be a successful season. Hypothetically, if we go on a tear and go 15-2, get a first round bye, then crap the bed at home in the divisional round, what would you say then? Still a failure? I'd be pissed

The Dolphins are not even beating good teams, let alone win a playoff team. I cringe when we play the Ravens, KC, or Buffalo or any good team to be honest. It is fun though when the Dolphins pad their statistics against bad teams. I am happy White is gone. I'm a Skylar fan. Will always be a Dolphins fan and will find something positive but we have to win some big games this season and win a playoff team.
Yet… they WILL. GIVE THEM A CHANCE

Poup is not really a big picture guy. More of a "let me rattle off facts about history" and "has no faith in todays team" kind of guy. Knowing a lot about the past doesn't always mean you can evaluate the present. Still good content I suppose.
The new dynamic kickoff is one of the least "dynamic" things I've ever seen.

Hyde is the most pessimistic, negative guy . Would somebody please give the man a joint, special brownies or a drink before he does the show? Every time a team changes a GM, coach or coordinator you are starting over with that part of the team and need to redo it from scratch. This team has only been reconfiguring itself for 2 years going on 3 in this iteration. GIVE IT A F’ING CHANCE!

Yep we shoulda stayed the course with Flores. Now we stuck with a weak armed slow footed bad attitude no read aspiring golfer for a quarterback. At 53M per season! Next couple years gonna break a lot of egos.
@@joec8942i disagree Flo was the wrong coach. Awesome defensive coach to be sure but he wasnt an offensive guy nor could he identify coordinators. McD is a big picture guy that will keep trying things until he gets it right. Tua is fine. Stop worshiping other teams QB and look at how the part fit together. No running QB will ever win a championship. Before you say Mahommes is, PM is a pocket QB that knows when to run when he had to. He absolutely can win without a single rushing yard
@@theragingdolphinsmaniac4696time will tell but if the past is any indicator for the future we have 4 years of late season meltdowns by our qb who we are stuck with at a much higher price for at least the next 2 years. If this team got better by letting hunt, Wilkins, Connor Williams, and x Howard walk and replacing them with players who have not proven they can play as well as the guys who left it will be a surprise to say the least. Tua needs to do things he has proven for 4YEARS STRAIGHT THAT HE CANNOT DO. FACTS

I would say pessimistic. Alain is the man though, I’ve always hated the 🐬’s reporters because of their negative disposition which seems to have programmed the fanbase. It’s up to the 🐬to shut them up.

10-7 tops. With push over cheerleader coaches everything is awesome for the first couple years. Then the lack of discipline starts showing things start to unravel when the front Fairweather personalities start to show their ugly face, which starts this year and really plummets next year and got off of the year after this is chris griers glass House
