I really appreciate and enjoy your very thorough and detailed podcasts. Keep up the great work. You have a very good sense for detail and it's clear that you have studied the cases in depth. You have a very good grasp on how to tell the stories in the timeline they appear, but also with flashbacks (in lack of a better word) to remind the listeners of past mentioned details. From start to end, the stories are very well put together as a whole. Most enjoyable! Kind regards Thomas from Denmark
This killer is one that has always intrigued me. Because I'm weird. LoL. This is perfectly put together!! I truly enjoy each of your episodes. TYSM for all the hard work you put into each and every one of these!!
At around 43:00 you mistakenly say the first couple was shot with a .22 long rifle. .22 long rifle is the name of the round and distinguishes it from the smaller, less powerful. 22 short. The .22 long casings recovered at the scene were fired from a .22 caliber pistol. The Zodiac had a flashlight in one hand and the pistol in the other.
I find this series has a lot more information that the TV documentary had. The TV one was more about the code and cracking it. The TV one is the hunt for the Zodiac killer.
This is the most attention I've seen to the young witnesses of the Presidio Heights murder. I never heard any of their names before, or that they were teenagers. I think they are presented in the movie as much younger.
Have a very solid solution to the alleged eighteen letters that are gibberish on the Z408 that makes them nineteen and indicates that it is intentional. Fits precisely with the theme. The solved statement is: THE EPITOME. MY REBIRTH.
I just googled the site of the first two murders and there's a police shooting range nearby. That plus the description of the perp, the using a flashlight to blind, the location and attacking couples really makes me wonder if Joseph James Deangelo might be Zodiac. He simply changed his MO a bit after he found out there was a "safer" way for him to kill. I hope they test any Zodiac DNA against DeAngelo.
I'm amazed Cecilia and Brian survived that long; if ever an ambulance helicopter was needed it was then. The Zodiac killer does seem like an annoying edgelord: I'm not sure whether to roll my eyes or be disgusted whenever he opens his mouth. Probably bullied in school for dyslexia and awkward personality, and having issues with girls, so like the incel he was, he took it out on happy couples.
The knife used at Lake Berryessa was described as about a foot long. I have no idea if that includes handle and blade. Anyway, that is kind of long for the average hunting knife. A hunting knife could be that long but shorter models are preferred by those I know who hunt.
Im shocked that this crime wasnt solved over the years although i truly believe the Zodiac Killer must have either been in prison or deceased since the 70s since i dont believe this killer loved attention to much to stop his crimes or sending letters to newspapers.
When overlayed on the Z408 there are eight centered letters/symbols (four stand as is or translated) formed by the four different ciphers and they yield a single last name.
The writers encoded the last name HARTNELL in an embedded cipher overlay technique. This is not to say that any name derived from the ciphers or letters is the "Z" (the main players of the group). However, it does imply a pre-planned event and provides a possible reasoning as to why Hartnell was allowed to survive what should have otherwise been done deal. Sort of a possible transfer of power (if you will) within the cult community.
@@rickhanson3293 it’s very weird how Hartnell calls Cecilia “that girl” which is distancing language, and proceeds to make excuses and virtue signal for the dirtbag murderer. Also, how he didn’t take her fears seriously when they were approached in the woods by the bastard. I wonder how many total POSs he helped as a lawyer.
This is the best Zodiac podcast series that I have heard. Good job! And ty

So The Zodiac invented the taclight?! Wow crafty and terrifying. this small detail shows how smart that son of a bitch really was.

And to think, I'm still beating myself up for shoplifting a cassette about 40+ years ago and serial killers can go on for years.

The zodiac killers name was Richard Mangan who changed his name to Ralph Mangan who's the DB Cooper cipher name.

What other crimes
Joseph James D'angelo's DNA does not match the DNA from the Zodiac killer but I do think your on the right track with him being law enforcement.

44:33 The zodiac killer’s last known victim
Is Stines link to all of this is that he was from Exeter? Was his mother also buried at the same cemetery in Exeter as DeAngelos?
Gaikowski keeps referring to "Good times" and "are the police having a good time?"...his own publication and Gyke right in the center of his cipher
Yep think so to best suspect there is
When is everyone going to realise it was harden all along,

Zodiac coward
seanlamar29 he was an absolute coward. Anyone can shoot unarmed people just going about there everyday lives. Nothing special about this scumbag.
@Cyber Zorro so you agree with this dude
No he was not an absolute coward. He was an absolute deranged, demon possessed killer and he would of killed you had you gotten in his way buddy.

Let me guess, is it Hanson?
Only if you can't count to eight.
Okay LOL I didn't see that part. So what's his name?
