That’s really cool they’re reworking weapons, but why spend the time on a trail carbine when they could just repurpose the lever action rifle? I’m not sure many of us would care if they used existing weapons so they can save themselves some time and headache.
Because visually they're quite different, and doing that wouldn't be up to our standards. We're making this project for ourselves first and foremost, and we don't believe that many of the vanilla F4 weapons are suitable for NVs look and feel.
The issue with these "remake" is that they do a 1/1 scale, while most of these "old" games had a rarher small scope/scale compared to today games. New Vegas map and world is very small and unifinished, it's more than a remake it needs. Also by the time it's out the remake would be already very outdated since modder don't use most advanced graphical mods but just basic Fallout 4 engine, no enb, animation rework etc.
We're not doing 1:1 scale, though. Our worldspace is 25% bigger, something that's even mentioned in this video. We're able to use the extra space to bulk out some locations, as well as add small points of interest along the more barren parts of the map just to break things up on occasion. As for the visuals, considering our team is responsible for some of the animation rework mods now commonly in use, and ENB isn't intended for motion gameplay (it's a tool intended for screenshots, and doesn't work correctly in motion,) we focus on pushing the F4 engine to the limits, and have achieved quite good results.

Since all of these mods you need Fallout 4, so it helping sales of their product years after its release (the same could be said of the Elder Scrolls series).
I wouldn't expect Bethesda to recreate any past Fallout game in the Fallout 4 engine (or even the newer version used for Starfield) for some very practical business reasons. One, it would take as long to produce a new version of each game as it did the first time; they probably don't have room in their schedule for that. Two, their developers and employees won't work for free for the 3 to 5 years it would take per game, so the development would cost them tens of millions of dollars with no guarentee of getting a return. Now, if somebody wants to develop a truly useful AI system, let's see one where you can tell it "take this old game and remake the whole thing in this game engine", let it cook for 6 months and it's done! That would be a good AI to have.
at least the vault 13 team is posting the unfinished work and encouraging people to pick up where they left off, hopefully a new team picks the project up in the future
Not that much. Our plans for weapon modding are more in the vein of NV than Fallout 4. A lot of the weapon mods in F4 are tied to the levelled progression system that game has - since we've gutted that and replaced it with a system more like NV, those mods are unnecessary and our focus is instead on mods with more direct impact like they were in NV.
I really hope they fix the look of the atmosphere, or the lighting when the New Vegas mod comes out. I don't know what it is, the greyish contrast from Fallout 4's engine perhaps?
I called it that the Fo1 Remake will be canceled. This happens every time with those games being attempted. The same will happen with Fo2's as well. Tragically, but that's just how it goes man. We've had this discussion since FNV came out and modders attempted forever.

While that's a fun thought, as a rule we don't take personalities or TH-camrs as voice actors. It's a very different skillset - no shade to Greg, he has a wonderful voice - and it doesn't mesh well with the needs we have for our VAs. As long as Bethesda isn't part of it, it'll probably be good. But Bethesda will put out an update right before release and break everything even both base games
I wish there would voiceover for the Courier in F4NV. The reason I can't stand older Fallout titles, why on earth they (Vault Dweller, Chosen One, Lone Wanderer and Courier) didn't speak?! Sure there are dialog choice and speech checks, but it doesn't feel natural. (This is a heresy, I know. Being grow up playing RPG games like Mass Effect and The Walking Dead and currently Fallout 4. I became accustomed to spoken dialogue on RPG game)
Like it or not, one of the reasons we're not doing it is the sheer scope of that work. Player lines would represent an *enormous* amount of voice acting, and would significantly bloat the scope of what our voice team is doing. Ordinarily we'd suggest that there's a great opportunity for a post-release mod that does what you suggest, but in this case the sheer amount of work is a lot to ask of anyone.
Even if they did, it would be little more than about a week or twos delay while we update F4SE to the new version. We have no plans to announce a release date anyway, so as far as the public is concerned this isn't an issue at all.
Thanks for the coverage!

If Microsoft gives them a bigger studio, they probably would honestly, or atleast it wouldn't be made solely by bethesda, look at halo 2 anniversary.
at least the vault 13 team is posting the unfinished work and encouraging people to pick up where they left off, hopefully a new team picks the project up in the future
If you think about it, there's going to be a lot more build options and flexibility because of weapon modding
@@Fallout4NewVegas man i just want the bozar to be useful, thats all i ask
Understanding how incompetent Bethesda has become over the years, modders are the superheroes.
I really hope they fix the look of the atmosphere, or the lighting when the New Vegas mod comes out. I don't know what it is, the greyish contrast from Fallout 4's engine perhaps?
I’m liking what I see cant wait to see a modern bumper sword
Good to hear that the F4NV still lives!
Until it's done, we'll keep going unless someone stops us.
Does anyone else wonder how a JuiceHead vs Twista fast rap battle would go?
I called it that the Fo1 Remake will be canceled. This happens every time with those games being attempted. The same will happen with Fo2's as well. Tragically, but that's just how it goes man. We've had this discussion since FNV came out and modders attempted forever.
Voice acting from that girl sounded very good. Hope it’s like that across the board
ngl im going to buy new vegas rn gotta see what all the hype is about my introduction to fallout was through the one fedora wearing lad with the silky smooth voice that talked about vaults
The new voice acting sounds great! It'll be nice not to hear the same 2 voices for every character in New Vegas for once.
Love these mod update videos.
So how do these remake mods work? Do they just completely replace Fallout 4 or is there some kind of location or object we interact with to start the new remake campaign?
1:23 just add the new vegas voice files after downloading the mod
someone will make a mod for it eventually
@@medicolkie3606 when that day comes i will buy i pc again
I have mad respect for these modders. Bethesda have failed to impress me over the years and these guys are doing what I wish Bethesda would do. I’m hoping Stalker 2 will keep me occupied for a while when it releases this November.

Love to see F4:NV updates! And Arroyo. Hope someone picks up Fallout 1 remake! Looked great! Especially with the show hype being a thing
If i was Bethesda, I would want to support the teams remaking the old titles so that you could officially launch them in the updated engine
Sucks about the vault 13 project but it called it a while ago
Given the success with Age of Empires 2, you would think that Microsoft would just hire the modders at this point.
I'd love if Greg from HTD would be the one to dub Festus in the Sunset Sarsparilla factory
While that's a fun thought, as a rule we don't take personalities or TH-camrs as voice actors. It's a very different skillset - no shade to Greg, he has a wonderful voice - and it doesn't mesh well with the needs we have for our VAs. We also, as a rule, don't approach people to voice in the project (we're already asking a lot of our volunteers,) so unless he were to apply, it's unlikely this would happen anyway.
@@Fallout4NewVegas No sweat, it was a morning rush reaction. I do wish the final speech is as unhinged as Greg's style though :P Cheers to y'all, and happy halloween!
I left my heart in the Sierra Madre. Finding it, though, that's not the hard part. It's letting go
I bet we’ll get this mod out before the next fallout game
God bless the modders...because of them, the rest of us get to enjoy their hard work and continue to enjoy FO4, esp if you don't care for FO76
Got my hopes up for the remaster game...
This is literally the best we can hope for
FYI laser weapons of any type would not have recoil...
In Fallout, they do.
Can they just give some $ to the Fallout: London and NV teams and let them finish this?
Throwing money at problems doesn’t actually work
@@exilestudios9546 well it would let these guys who actually care about Fallout quit their 'day jobs' and make better content than the regular Bethesda devs seem capable of, so ....
@JamesDatWork no it would cause a whole heap of legal trouble for these modder since they'd be infringing on copyright. I think the director for Street Fighter said that the best thing AAA studios can do is ignore these projects and let them do whatever they want because the alternative is go full Nintendo on them
@@bigswigg3631 you missed my point ... I was saying Bethesda should hire/contract them ... MAKE it all legal cause Bethesda clearly doesn't have the desire to do it.
@@JamesDatWorkin an ideal world, sure. This is not an ideal world man
fallout 1 remake mod only intresthing one shame. Other fallout never reach first game athmosphere.
soon the new vegas vs fo4 debate would be on same level since they both will be on the same engine
What gun is that at 2:34?!? If it’s a mod please point it out for me plz!
In an alternate reality, Bethesda would have a community updates section in their presentation to celebrate the contributions from the community and the resulting continued popularity of Fallout... But Bethesda's never going to put money where their mouth is
I can't wait for that game, but don't rush it, take your time. Thanks to all the poeple working on this. :D
Pretty fucking Sad that Bethesda can’t be trusted to do anything right with their IP anymore they’ve done nothing but screw up everything they touch since fallout 76, thank you modders for having actual passion and respect for the IP
I really hope they do the DLCs.
B-b-but I thought Fallout New Vegas was basically an asset flipped Fallout 3.
Wait... they're only NOW building helios one? How long has this game been in development for, 4 years?
Yyyeaaah... it's never coming out.
Are you gonna do a video for star wars genesis modlist for starfield?
do any of these remake mods ever get released? we always hear about them but we never get to play them
Bethesda’s main priority at this very moment is Elder Scrolls VI. Forget the next Fallout. Bethesda needs to get their other main cash cow out the door and sell like gangbusters similar to Skyrim.
Someone seriously needs to replace Todd Howard as head of Bethesda.
If it gets multi player would be cracked
fo4 light works so well with desert enviroments.
wasting on east coast feels so unsatisfying in the base game. Boston is interesting but not
as interesting as the classic environments.
Can’t wait for fallout 2 or 1s remake
I can't wait for Todd Chadward to update FO4 again for no reason and break the mod compatibility one day before the intended release.
Those updates mean effectively nothing. They happen every time Fallout 4 gets a patch, and it takes little more than about a week of work to update the necessary things. Even if this was to happen, since we don't intend to ever announce a release date, it would have no impact on the public receiving the mod.
@@Fallout4NewVegas Well, i went back to Skyrim and New Vegas, and TES Arena. id prefer it if Bethesda got their head out of their a$$ and stopped updating old games and focus on listening to what people actually want. A new f*CKING TES game.
i dont want them touching Fallout anymore. And i'll critisize the show no matter what. It gutted the West Coast.
Im also pretty sure you guys mindlessly defended the bullsh*t from the Frontier devs. How am i supposed to expect you to be faithful to Recreating New Vegas if your just gonna add sh*t from Fallout 4 into it???
@@MLPDethDealr32 We didn't defend what The Frontier did at all. What we *did* do is avoid associating with TKSMantis due to his conduct during the situation.
We have repeatedly stated - and will state again - that the content in that mod was disgusting.
What we also don't approve of, however, is someone being involved with the creation of something like that being totally fine with it until they lose a voice acting role. Until then, he had no issue with any of those things, and made zero effort to alert the community to them. That's the behavior of someone who isn't acting for moral reasons, but for the sake of self-aggrandizement.
Will it be possible to create a mod that will use VA files from original New Vegas copy to replace NV Remake new voicing? I distinctly remember some fan projects that used files from separately installed copy of original game to legally reuse voicing, cant recall the names though
No. Such a tool would be a license violation, and the way we have to handle voice files means that a direct conversion wouldn't work anyway.
@Fallout4NewVegas thanks, dont care about licenses much, just was curious if it technically possible
As long as Bethesda isn't part of it, it'll probably be good.
But Bethesda will put out an update right before release and break everything even both base games
First Fallout London and now THIS!?
They should've focused more effort on f4 rather than f76 cause there's more players in the game
FCUKIN HYPED for this Mod
Fallout 1 and 2 are too vast to remake for modders. Shear amount of text and quests alone is overwhelming.
Nice, this is going to make my pc implode 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
Player ghouls are going to be like the Octolings of Fallout 76
Bethesda will wait until Fallout 4 New Vegas announces their release date and then implement their Fallout 4 next Gen update fix the week before
Even if they did, it would be little more than about a week or twos delay while we update F4SE to the new version. We have no plans to announce a release date anyway, so as far as the public is concerned this isn't an issue at all.
@ 😃☹️Your comment gave me mixed emotions. But I appreciate the work you guys are doing! You’re all legends in my book
So when can we expect this mod to be fully functional and available for everyone ?
When it's done. We don't have any plans to announce a release date or anything like that. We're just going to drop the project when it's ready.
@ looking forward to it
