    Someone in my family brought them up randomly a few weeks ago. As though there was a tiki joint he used to go to back in the day. “Those are dangerous sodas”

    I usually seek out rum or mescal drinks instead of gin drinks because juniper can be a little much for me, but it balances really nice in this one.

    I do love this drink. The recipe from the IBA does not use any club soda and uses more pineapple juice with some lime as well. Will have to try this version

    I really detest both Gin and pineapple. I am thinking would this be good with a (light) rum and orange juice? I am not asking if this would be the same cocktail, it obvioulsy wouldn not, but is it good?

      With everything going on in this drink, I doubt you would even recognize the gin. My guests who "don't like" tequila or gin, always come around when they try my well-crafted cocktails. I think your version would be just fine. The key is balance, so pineapple juice being sweeter than orange, you might need to add a half ounce of simple syrup or something else that's sweet. Try it first to make sure. I often modify a recipe if I don't have exactly what is called for. Try it out! Regards from Indiana!

    Please clarify. Video shows, and your narration refers to Cointreau, but it doesn't appear in the recipe shown in the description.

    i've become a big fan of pineapple drinks in my older days. Now if I could only make an accurate Tropical Isle Hand Grenade!

    Obviously you can add/take away anything you want but traditionally there is no club soda in this drink..

  • @Dussander2
    @Dussander2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The recipe in the video and the recipe in the text are way different. For instance, there is no Cointreau in the text recipe. The video has 3/4oz Pineapple juice but the text has 1 1/4oz. The Grenadine should be 1/4 oz in the text.

    • @Dussander2
      @Dussander2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, Angostura is not mentioned in the text recipe.

      Luxardo has its own cherry liqueur called Sangue Morlacco... if it's good enough for the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, then it's good enough for the rest of us!
