Thank you for providing this TH-cam page to support future social workers. I reviewed question #3 over again, and thought to myself, the reality response, while in the field is different from the actual answer. I also thought that question #3 could have provided more detail regarding an understanding of UNSAFE. For instance, if you observe, electric wiring, cutlery, or substances around the children, you will have to make an immediate decision regarding this situation.
from my understanding,, reasoning questions cover the gray areas. the fact that in question 3, unsafe was not explicitly described tells me that that is not what is meant to be focused on. it's more about critically thinking about the nuance of the situation, which is the difficulty associated with reasoning questions. These are hard!! uffda
#3 is a great question that tests real world competency. #1 is poorly worded and essentially asks you to select which element of congruence constitutes congruence the most (which is a ridiculous proposition that doesn’t test competency). And #2 utilizes the word “address” in an ambiguous way that is intended to mean “talk about” but could easily be interpreted to mean “intervene”.
There is something vague about the work title. Is this person a Child Protective Specialist in DCP ( division of child protection….commonly referred to in several States as Child welfare Services or CPS) or are they a social worker (LMSW or LCSW) ?
These are not reasoning questions at all.. You have to call CPS on #3. You are a mandated reporter and you dont need a supervisors opinion on it. The more you wait, the more you put the child in danger. That is an unethical "correct answer." You have a duty to keep the public safe and you have to make the report. That "correct answer" goes against the code of ethics.
The social worker is already a child welfare worker. The social worker needs to document their observations and staff it with their supervisor to determine the next course of action. The supervisor may determine if immediate removal is necessary. Child welfare is already involved(hence the social worker making a home visit.)
@@naturallydunn3325 The vignette doesn’t say why the social worker is there. It says, during a home visit. It could have been the first time the social worker made that home visit. We don’t know, and we can’t just assume.
i could be wrong, but you may be applying an assumption (with question #3) that the unsafe condition witnessed is equal to life threatening. this is a reasoning question because it is questioning a gray area. reasoning questions are not black and white, such as this one.
Congruence is not about matching the clients energy it is about the sw oresenting themselves openly and honestly, which is reflected in D.

I agree, documenting and speaking with a Supervisor maybe too soon if it's truly unsafe.

love these!! I already purchased your program. I would love a better breakdown on research

Completely agree! Especially re Q1, where D aligns more accurately with the baseline definition of congruence in a therapy setting.
Love these!!
Thank you, very helpful!!
Thanks !!!
Are these reasoning questions? I definitely got all three wrong 😑

I am confused by the wording on #3.
It mentions that you are a social worker in a child welfare agency.
Child welfare agency=CPS.

They are the CPS workers. They work for the CHILD WELFARE AGENCY.
But the social worker already works there. A report was already made which is why the social worker is there.

0/3. These questions are confusing
