On question 2, I would argue that we on the outside attempting to decide what a community needs before talking to the stakeholders would be a bit paternalistic. Wouldn't we be asking rather than telling what a community needs? Maybe I'm misunderstanding and ignoring the 'key' adjective for 'stakeholders' (as in key to a specific area of need rather than in general--agency leaders, religious leaders, schools, those individuals the community views as trustworthy and influential).

The needs assessment should help you identify who the key stakeholders are to leverage!

I work in a middle school... I definitely don't see these medications. How many meds am I supposed to know for the test. This will be my third time attempting this damn thing. Smh

For LSW you don't have to know many. For LCSW it's probably good to play some memory games for the most common generic and brand names.

I thought we'd learn who key stakeholders are before doing a community needs assessment. I have seen community assessments that don't identify stakeholders and often stakeholders help implement a needs assessment, but I will keep this in mind for the exam!

​​@@aaronlow6322 consider that you won't do as good of a job of identifying key stakeholders if you don't have a clear understanding of the needs. For example, you know there's an attendance crisis at school but it's not until you do a needs assessment that you discover there are some major issues with transportation and contagious illness that contribute the poor attendance. Now, knowing this you may identify some stakeholders who are in the fields of health and transportation to assist in the response to this crisis.

Lol at any medical recall question that you would just google in real life. What’s the purpose of memorizing this random stuff? I’m in private practice and when my clients tell me their meds/diseases, i google them and move on. No need to waste time memorizing for my job.
