Thank you. And if referring to the animalistic variant, that was back in 2013 or so during the "Forever Evil" event where they introduced one as inspiration.
It is odd that they are kicking off the new DCU with this motley crew. I have to believe it is more the result of just scheduling. I agree that it aligns with the wackiness of Gunn's vision. I do like that the DCU is aiming for a more... satirical tone than the dark, self-seriousness of Snyder, or the pleasant sentimentality of the MCU.
I think it was more that Gunn was writing it when he got control of the DC Studios gig. I think it was more of a follow up to the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker and became the default first official DCU project to air.
Every DC project will have it's own tone that's inline with the characters being used. This tone fits these characters in this story but don't expect it to stay the same in any future DC projects. Gunn was given the job if writing Creature Commandos right after he did Suicide Squad and before he was hired as the head of the new DC studios so it was just the furthest along in development.
It doesn't start with this. You need to swim wade through all the half this half that movies and shows to have an understanding of references. and they try to claim this is the start of a new universe.
Seeing how much this is just a straight up continuation of The Suicide Squad, from the previous canon, just continues to tick me off that Gunn refused to use Henry Cavil as Superman and was fine with keeping all of his own projects 🙄😢...
If they decide to make a second season of the Creature Commandos series, they should include the Haunted Tank in the show. He could serve as backup and extra firepower for the group.
The show is good and very James Gunn style (which I am getting a bit tired of) but I don't understand why they didn't just make it a live action show instead of animation. If it is all connected aren't they going to interact with Peacemaker and Superman?
So, the movie "The Losers" could have had a robot commando on it? If any of the GI Robots were in the movie, they would have gotten a sequel (j/k. or am i?)
Gunn said that his cameo was added by the animators on their own accord, he had no word in it other than saying "Haha, this is funny, I'll let this stay."
Weasel was not created by Gunn but has instead been around since at least the early-mid 1980s. See Fury off Firestorm vol2 issue 38

Gonna ✅ it out tomorrow. Hope it's good. Speakin of Peacemaker, what's the strategy of taking so long to put out S2? That show was NICE!
I believe it’s being released after Superman, so late summer. Hopefully august!
Just watched it. Fantastically bizzare. Loved it.
Appreciate the Speed Run: I'm all set for tomorrow 👍🏾👌🏾
THE SHOW IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking of old comics with a military theme I wonder what happen to Spielberg's "Black Hawk" movie.
Lol you know what happened, it was quietly shelved
@BaithNa I low-key hope they just make it a period piece movie in the day

I think we need to see midosa an Dracula in the second season
Geeze, did you just rollout a bed? You ok?

Wow, Nerdist still around?! Back from the grave!?
regarding the new show: shite music choices and OMG James Gunn's ego is so big he animated himself into the opening? screw this show

subtlety is for losers!
Why they felt they needed to replace Frankenstein with Elizabeth his wife makes me think they'll do something lame and gay with her
Please go outside
10 minutes in is as far as I made it what a complete dumpster fire pile of woke garbage
watched it best part dc was their animation division can honestly say not in a hurry to see the third episode
