      Yay perfect timing!! It seems simple, but I have seen some presentations really grow nonprofits. Just talking to people authentically can really make a difference!

    Hi Amber,
    Thanks so much for your informative videos. I just subscribed to your channel. I have one question if you dont mind. I am currently working on starting my NGO. I am starting it in Africa but based in the US. Am on my way to getting certified in Ghana, where I wanna start from. Will I need to be registered in the US as well to be able to raise funds in the US? Thanks so much for all your help.

      Most likely, I think the answer is yes. Some states have solicitation licenses you may also need to be allowed to ask for money in those states. I am not a lawyer though so I recommend you talk to one!

    Great video! I am working on a presentation for an interview. They gave me a very vague cue of a 20 minute presentation on what my "ask" would look like if I was the director of this education foundation. There is not a ton of data they provided or a ton online I can use. Any suggestion? Thanks!

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does this hypothetical education foundation have specific needs it is trying to raise money for? First you'd match the needs to the interests of the funder. Learn what they care about, then structure your pitch to show how your needs align with their interests.

    Hi Amber, I love your videos. You're so helpful and encouraging! Here's my question as it relates to this video: My non profit is a start up. I'm working to build a children's museum in northern Israel, a very underserved area and there's nothing like it locally at all. I don't have a personal story of an individual we've helped. Do you have a thought on the kind of story we can tell? What do you think about sharing what a children's museum does for a child (so it's not exactly what we've done... yet!!)? Thanks again!!!!

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Laya! There will certainly be other start ups in your position too - so I would say in that case, try to find another example of someone whose life was impacted by a children's museum - look for stories in the news and in other research.
