These toys were actually SUPER GOOD by fast food toy standards. Probably the best ones so far? Make sure you subscribe to see the next set of Wii toys from Wendy's coming soon!
The plastic pull tab on a toy like that is there to separate the battery contacts so the battery doesn't run out before you even get it/corrode. Pulling it out connects the battery to the metal contact of the circuit and gives it power.
@Ytp4life 𓆏 Not for these sort of super low end/cheap toys, adding an on/off switch increases number of parts and hence manufactoring costs: adding a strip of paper is still cheaper.
1:19 As someone who's worked in fast food, "Alternate toys available upon request" just means they have other toys available for children under three. They're really basic and have no choking hazards. I'm pretty sure all restaurants that give out kids meal toys are required to have them.
Lol never heard or saw that. Here if you keep your toy sealed and tell them you already have that one you could exchange it with a different one from the line.
@@oosthakker We didn't always have different toys. Depending on the restaurant, we might only have the toy of the week until we run out, or we might have a few at a time. We never had all of them at the same time, though. They always came in separate boxes.
@@Antelieris1 yeah they normally had 2 or sometimes 3 at a time here. Remember a lot of times i changed it :) because i liked a different one more or i already had it. Gotta love these toys
The tab in the battery toys is intended to break the circuit so the batteries keep their charge during shipping. A dinky little piece of cardboard is all that stands between the light-up Luma being dead on arrival.
The Diddy Kong toy was actually pretty hilarious. Burger King offered a lot of really great toys back in the day. I still have a lot of them from the 90s. My late grandparents were really sweet, every time they went to Burger King they would ask for a toy, and then saved all of them up over the year for a huge birthday bundle gift. I remember their Lion King run was especially high quality. I have a whole army of laughing Ed hyenas. My parents got so annoyed by the squeaky sound, they took out the air bladders. XD
When crafting spring loaded toys you have two options: either stick the spring up the butt, or stick the spring in the front and then the toy will always move butt first. A tough choice to be sure.
I STILL HAVE THE OLDER PEACH TOY FROM BK (10:08)! We used to go to BK whenever we went to SLC for sports games (I'm from Utah), and I remember getting that. Man...I feel old now.
The Peach toy brought back memories of a kids' meal toy I once had that was Esmeralda from the animated Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame movie. She was very similar, but had better dance moves... even if they were mostly the same moves, but faster and more chaotic. lol
The alternate toys available upon request wouldn't be another Toy from the same set, but instead of generic squishy toy made for kids 3 and under. Though we've seen that sometimes the 3 and under toy is themed around the set as well.
I remember only getting the Metroid one of these toys. I also remember not knowing the Wii mote had a part in that cus I literally just solved it by tilting the ball and thought the Wii mote was just a cool little side thing lol
Hey peebs, so when new McDonald's toys release nowadays they come in separate shipments every week. So if you go to a McDonald's at the end of the month, they'll usually have one of everything
I remember having that Peach toy. It's probably somewhere in my sister's old bedroom. Update: I found the remote that went with the toy, but not the toy itself.
i had the princess peach one as a little kid, and honestly it loved it a lot. peach was my favorite mario character growing up so to have a little figure of her that spins and stuff was just so cool to me.
11:30 I used to have one of these paper Mario toys when I was like 7 and I never actually had the Wii mote for it but I have so many childhood memories of me bringing the paper Mario to a summertime camp and doing a bunch of stories with my friends with the little paper mario.
The louder clicking in the spring activated toys, Princess Peach and Diddy Kong, are the gears inside that wind up the spring skipping teeth. It's not great for the gears because the teeth will sheer off over time. There is some really neat mechanical systems in these toys.
This brings back many good memories, these were some of my favorite kids meal toys (other than Bakugan). The only ones I didn't have in these were Chain Chomp, Peach, Diddy, and Paper Mario.
I had the Diddy Kong in a box of toys when I was a kid, and I never knew it came with a wiimote I was always confused about the weird slot on the back also you can move one of the arms and make both arms face the same way which is pretty cool lol.
Oh my god my grandparents have both the donkey and diddy Kong ones I never knew they were fast food toys, especially since we don’t seem to have their remotes anymore We use the dk one as a fridge magnet
So, the paper tabs in the toys with batteries are to block the batteries from making contact with the other side of the compartment and completing the circuit. This keeps them from draining when the button is pressed before the toys get to be played with. The more you know.
Oooh, also, I have the same bluetooth speaker that's on your floor when Peach commits the suicide. 'Cept mine is gray and orange. So. Not all the same.
That paper Mario toy reminds me of the Nintendo Stage Figures based on Mario 1 Japan did about a decade ago. Just on a much lower budget, it really is the same thing even down to the magnet gimmick.
Wow! These toys are good compared to other fast food toys. Some fast food toys are just bad and not fun. But I could see myself playing with these toys back in the day. My favorite is Princess Peach. She’s beautiful. I also like Diddy Kong because he looks funny lol. And that Luma toy is cool. You could use that as a flashlight or a reading light at night. That would be pretty cool. I also like the Paper Mario one because it is the biggest one in the set. And the Metroid Prime maze is cool. All of these toys seem really cool and they look like something I would have wanted as a kid. Well, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Thanks a lot, Toasty: I laughed so hard at the Mario propeller screaming through the Space Junk Galaxy that my sides are now busted. You'll be hearing from my lawyer.
