It's taken almost 20 years of veganism, but I've reached a point where I'd much rather cook than order out ever again. Making food that not only tastes better and is without worry of animal products, but it ends up saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year.
I stopped buying different cleaning products for every different surface of my home. I use an organic all purpose cleaner for mostly everything and have a few bathroom cleaners for tougher jobs. I stopped buying candles, they accumulate clutter. Before making fun purchases I always ask myself "Will this turn into clutter 3 months from now?" Don't get me wrong I still love shopping for fun but with a minimalist approach!
I do not go into restaurants, I cook my food on my own. I do not have senseless gadgets like smartphones, microwave, dishwasher, and all that digital nonsense. My old mobile is from 2007. And I do not need more, and I cannot be hacked or tracked by the government like a smartphone owner. And I do not buy DVDs anymore.
Hi, I would like to recommend not buying a replacement for a thing you lost/ was damaged/ broke, immediately. Sometimes you can actually find out that you didn't need it as you thought. I broke several plates, one pot has been burnt terribly, some clothes were torn, my desk lamp got broken and I didn't replace them straight away. I wanted to check first if I used them because I had them or if I had them because I needed them. In all those situation, several years later, I can say I don't need them. I use other stuff that was already in my house. I like the term "shop in your own house" - big money saver!
Reading is one of my favorite enjoyments. However, I never buy a book. I use my local library system to read any thing I want. A wonderful pastime that is completely free.
I buy some books, but yes the library is great. Here in Hungary if you are part of your local library you can have any book from any library in the country.
Carole, great job! I buy some books, namely those that I have read as library loans several times over, and sometimes I give such books as presents. I'm an avid reader and still like the feel of paper-book in the hand. But I don't care the least about the latest books or bestsellers as such, either. They have to be my kind of books anyway. So many classics are too bloody and violent and depressing for me. I wonder what you guys read? Any "must-reads" you think? A topic for you, too, to muse on, Seve?
@@DNA350ppm I read fiction and nonfiction and quite a variety of both. I like bios and books concerning the environment for nonfiction. In fiction, I like mysteries, but nothing violent, sci-fi, or supernatural. Of course, I loved Girl On A Train. Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, and any book by Ann Tyler would be recommended.
@@SunnyKindJourney I delete all unnecessary apps, I have one cleaning phone app called Super Cleaner that I love because it cleans temp storage, cuts down notifications, and more.

Good sunglasses, especially those with a polarizing filter, can be a worthwhile investment in your eye health. My eyes are much less dazzled, so I feel better right away with my glasses in many situations. I hadn't even considered so far that a high-quality pair of glasses could also be more durable. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it!
I have quite sensitive eyes too so polarized ones have been excellent for me. Maybe one day I'll get a pair or more expensive ones if I stop breaking them so easily 😂
@@SunnyKindJourney Also, some sunglasses are better built than others. Oakley brand glasses is one example. I have a pair of Oakley "Pit Bull" sunglasses from 2011 that I still use. They are designed "collapse" if you sit on them or they fall to the ground. Then you can put them together again. :) They are all plastic construction, and very durable. Litterally unbreakable glasses. I think they also made a model similar to that one called the "Monster dog" sunglasses. Sadly, they are not in production anymore...
Great list! I love these kind of videos, always good for inspiration. One thing I never buy is a drink when I eat at a restaurant. Free water works great for me!
No, truly, your videos couldn't be more nice, and visually pleasing, with any new lenses and programs - I like them as they are on my oldish laptop, that I've bought with 1 year guarantee from a firm that shapes old-ones up - just my cup of tea! I think you are just right about everything even if not all your items are part of my life. Simply, I don't fly at all except in a family emergency. *Slow travel* has a point, you know - even if it takes sisu, when one starts from Finland, that adds an extra day&night, both ways. From South Sweden on, it's very easy. With train to Berlin and you are in the middle of the pudding (can one say so?). "Holidays at home" is a wonderful concept, because it teaches one to relax where one is planted. For starters perhaps every second year? I've done it for ages, and it relaxes others, too, as there is too much comparison and competition anyways. Just tell others that "I'm just staying at home, pottering about and hanging out in the hammock" and people can start to get ideas! 🙂 (We have one which can be used both in an apartment and outside, which doesn't need much storing-space either.)
Thank you for making this great video. Funny thing is that I am more happy to go back to what I was doing, when I was in my early 20s. It's more about simple living, being mindful & not complaining or comparing myself to others. We live in a fake world, where it's all about image & branding instead of genuine quality and purposes. Everyday, big corporations are telling us why we need to buy their expensive products. The banks makes money from selling debt. People stress themselves & traps themselves when they get into bad debt. Life is actually more enjoyable when you consume less & create more. You just have to know what's important for you and focus on yourself.
I still have a dvd player and a small tv. I use the library to get free movies, music, audiobooks, and ebooks. I can watch/listen on my phone or tv. I save on subscriptions. I'll do this as long as I can.
@@SunnyKindJourney @loreeryan2348 Physical media is definitely a good idea for when the internet is down! While I love physical minimalism, I do prefer to own certain things such as games. Paying for things only for them to be removed from the server when they're no longer popular/profitable to the company taught me this the hard way!
Thanks for sharing! I only bought a smartphone once with my own money. All my phones were hand-me-down from my father because he always got a new one every two years from his subscription plan. I only bought a new car for my peace of mind. Got a secondhand car before, and it's way more expensive to maintain. Now, I'm working on cutting down my coffee shop drinks expense.
I think it all boils down to why you practice minimalism. Are you doing it to save money in order to live a certain kind of lifestyle-to travel-to live lightly upon the earth-for spiritual reasons? This sort of determines what things you would want to live without.
Moi Seve! Terveisia Kreikasta! Puoli Suomalainen, puoli Kreikalainen! So happy to find a Finnish channel, speaking English!! I am a scandi minimalist living in a maximalist country...quite an opposite!! Thanks for sharing! Heido!!

Once I moved to the mountains of Northern Idaho in the US, my needs suddenly changed. We have a very cold climate here in the mountains with snow on the ground 6 months of the year. The "good" weather months are also often cold and I have found that having a lot of different choices with technology and even possessions has helped me live a decent lifestyle off grid. After several years of complaining by family and friends, I finally got a satellite dish, but everything else (besides my satellite uplink) is low tech. Books are very valuable during times I lose my satellite service in winter when we get snowed in for up to a week or more. We have snow levels that pile up in the mountains and sometimes have about 3 feet of snow outside. This means that snow falling off of trees and roofs of our buildings can make it pile up to 5 or 6 feet or more. It changes the way you look at life when everyone is huddled inside for months at a time.
@@SanctifiedLady Thank you for your questions. Fortunately we have a neighbor that doesn't live too far from us who has a monster of a snow plow truck! We pay him to plow us out every time it snows heavily. His machine looks like it could take down a mountain. So we wait until he plows us out to drive anywhere (sometimes snowed in for a week or more). Once this is done our lives return mostly to normal and we can travel to do errands and other tasks. There is a small town at the bottom of our mountain that has a grocery store and a few other stores so when we are able to get off our mountain after it snows heavily, we quickly do our errands (buying more food, etc) before the next big snowfall. My husband is a computer programmer so his job is very mobile and he doesn't always have to go in to work. It helps having this kind of job if you live way way out in the country. This lifestyle isn't for everyone but if you love the mountains and living in the country it is very doable. I love the fact that I can have many different animals in our alpine valley (horses, lama, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, sheep, etc). I also love that there are only two seasons in the mountains -Summer (Often cool), and Winter (6-months of snow). Life is very busy in the Summer (May-October) and we rush around frantically trying to get everything done. In the Winter when the snow comes (Mid-October through April) we start our "calmer" projects indoors and really enjoy the cozy rest that Winter forces upon us! I end up enjoying more creative tasks in the Winter that I don't focus on in the Summer. Both seasons are wonderful and I really enjoy both.
@@crystallevin sounds cozy! If only I didn’t have to go out. Anything below 65-60F is way too cold for me. If I had to bundle up to go out, it wouldn’t be often. I@SanctifiedLady I live in Australia...an hour south of Sydney on the beautiful south coast of NSW.....sandy beaches all the way along the coast, without the crowds except for the 2 hottest months...Jan & February.....I live in a regional city. ...that attracts surfers for surfing comps in summer...and people in outer Sydney travel here for their weekends in summer...to have family fun at the beach..... Bc of living near the ocean (7 min walk), we are kept cooler in summer....we have ceiling fans only and that's fine with us....some days get pretty uncomfortable but the fans work a treat and we have 3 whirly birds in the roof that circulate air in from outside. If its a really hot one...40-42 celcius..105 -107 fahrenheit....we might head to the mall or library but usually we just stay home. Winter is pretty mild but can drop to zero of an evening..or even 4° celcius (34 fahren) during the odd day when a cold wond is blowing up from the south....so it can get pretty cool bc we have no heating whatsoever in our home.and no carpets or heavy curtains.. .just about everyone i know has some kind of airconditioning system these days but we dont see the need.. I say 'put on a jumper or a thermal if it's too cold !!😂 .....but yes...there is no snow where we are....I love the mild temperate climate and the fact that I can go out for a bush walk or hike and not be scared of being eaten by a mountain lion ..or a bear 😂😅....I'd be too scared to walk in your beautiful mountains 😂😅
New clothes, i only buy bulk underwear every couple years. All regular clothing is bought used and I only have 10 tops, 7 pants, 2 dresses, 6 pair shoes. I clear out the house every 6 months of items not being used and never repurchase. I take a really long time to purchase an item and try to borrow one first to see if that item is as useful as I think.
I love this!! I love dresses and skirts so I’m identifying what I will no longer wear. I would love 7 dresses for summer 4 skirts 2 blazers, 5 blouses I have a few flat shoes 🥿 I have many things that I have not worn. So hard getting rid of things but clothing costs but I will not purchase anything else.
My tablet is a huge part of my life. I own both a kindle and tablet for reading. As a comic book fan, the tablet is great for colours and when reading a traditional book, the kindle works great to protect my eyes. Couldn't live without them, also saves me from need a bookshelf in my house.
Great video, thanks!! I'll add one... Gym subscription! You can train at home/park with just a suspension training kit and resistance bands. There are so many routines and plans in TH-cam and many other places.
@gekouy, @@SunnyKindJourney I use waterbottles for exercise weights and I actually inherited poles for Nordic Walking, but I gave my hubby new poles with bungy-resistance for levelling out that he is stronger, and needs heavier exercise than me, so that when we walk together it would be useful for him, too, still able to talk most of the time. One can add a pack-back with books, stones, and bottles of water if needed, too.To drink or otherwise just empty on the way. I love the outdoors, so try to do daily walking, and make sure there are some hills. Maybe you can find poles second-hand. In some countries there are walking clubs...
Recently, for me, it has been games that are on sale. I always loved the Steam Sale ... but I would never play those games and just watch the Let's Play. And over the years, I game less and less anyway. And I'm with you on souvenirs. Also, in the same vein: decorations in general. They just collect dust. I use my smartwatch for sleep tracking, and my tablet for reading. But both are old and from Huawei, but they serve their purpose! Which goes along well with the tech upgrade aspect :D
If they bring value to you, why not 😉 yeah, keeping to use the same old ones is a great habit to avoid unneccessary spending. Keep it up and thanks for the comment! 😊
New subscriber! Loved the video and scrolling through the comments section. My thing that I’m not spending on is anti-aging cosmetic procedures…. Maybe it’s just the area I live in, but A LOT of people in my social circle are getting Botox injections and fillers. I used to think that was just for rich middle aged women. But it’s more and more common for girls in their thirties! I don’t know if men feel the same pressure, but apparently women aren’t supposed to wrinkle. Haha aging is a blessing!
I’ve stopped air fresheners, and candles. I will enjoy rarely. Perfume I have old, I can always get a sample perfume at the department store. It’s wild how much waste, my refrigerator is huge and empty. Most of my utility bill. Thank you for your videos 🎉
I understand your take on collections. However, as I own different types of collections. As an artist, to OWN each specialized tool it's like having an encyclopedia. I can't just have certain letters I need A to Z to complete different works of art. You can own something and have it placed neatly, organized, and away from view. Having the security of knowing when you need to accomplish a specific effect, I have the right tool for it. The argument of clutter VS a well maintained and organized toolbox (put away 'when not in use'). The two aren't the same, you can still own a flushed out collection of tools without it being categorized as clutter/materialism or consumerism
I have a partner that is an artist as well and I understand you 100%. She has so many supplies for her work, and while they may sometimes seem "clutter" to me, I know they are definitely not for her. She couldn't do those pieces of art with just one brush 😄 Thanks for commenting! 🌿
Naturally - tools that are used, are NOT clutter. Not even if they are old newspapers for collages. I wish I was a bit more generous towards myself for having the organizing tools for my yarns, fabrics, etc. Sometimes I just store supplies in plastic-bags, and I really don't like the look of it. I'm sure Seve wouldn't be such a scrooge in important respects! And rightly so. I'm on a journey to improve my habits! Wish you happiness with your artist's way!
I don't buy much seasonal décor. It's cozy to have a few things to display as a tradition, but having a full collection of décor, wall hangings, decorative pillows, coffee mugs, and throw blankets for every holiday isn't necessary for me.
I noticed you have a 20 CZK banknote in your memory box. I think it's very interesting since I've never ever had one in my hands, and I'm living in Czechia for my whole life. Did some quick research now and it's quite rare, so great choice of a souvenir! Btw your content is great!
Thank you! I actually have never been in Czechia and got that as a gift 😄 I know a couple of people from there and watch videos from a channel called HONEST GUIDE but I am happy to hear the czech thing in my little box is rare :)
I have a smart watch, and I'm actually going back to using a regular watch. I need one, because I don't want to pick up my phone everytime I need to know the time. I try to reduce my screen time as much as possible. But owning a smart watch caused me so much anxiety. If I saw that I didn't sleep well or didn't reach my goal steps. The numbers and the analysis don't make sense anyway. You can FEEL if you walked enough or slept well.
I buy lots of books and i collect lots of stuff but I still save and invest 60% of my income after tax so I don't beat myself up over it XD I do, however, have no more room in my home to display books or collections yet keep buying more and it does stress me out when I cant display them beautifully... so here I am watching minimalist videos for help lol. The 1 in 1 out rule seems to be applicable to me but I've put off making any tough choices yet.
I quit buying physical books, I invested my money in an e-reader, then signed up with several different libraries so I can read a large number of books for free. Once in a while I will pay to download a book to it, but a lot of times I will wait and see if it goes on sale or turns up at one of the libraries where I am a member.
Some time ago I stopped buying magazines and newspapers. I also don't buy paper books, I switched to e-books. It's similar with boxed versions of games. In the era of Steam and other platforms, when they come in boxes, it's just additional junk on the shelf. I try to use products until the very end and only then buy new ones or buy them just before the previous one runs out. This applies to toothpaste, shower gels, creams, etc. I don't buy new clothes until the old ones are good. I darn clothes with holes. I don't buy souvenirs on trips. I don't buy seasonal decorations, including Christmas ones. I have very much limited the purchase of processed food, such as cold cuts. I buy raw meat and prepare meals myself. I don't eat bread, potatoes, groats, pasta, sweets and fruit. That's why I don't buy them.
Very interesting list, some things on it that I hadn’t thought about and will now consider. I disagree about tablets, when my current laptop needs replacing, I’ll probably not replace it and just have a tablet. I also replace my phone, etc when they stop getting software and security updates. Last year, I bought a Google Pixel 8 because of the promise of 7 years of updates. Also, I’ll consider replacing my phone if/when the battery stops lasting from, say, 8 am to 8-9 pm. I’ll look at the cost of replacing the battery versus a new phone and decide on what’s the best approach.
I like your approach to things! The tablet is something I may reconsider in a few years but since my laptop works just fine, it would be another new device I don't necessarily need. Kind of like the smart watches 😄 Thanks for the comment!
@@DNA350ppm great question. Not sure, it's one of the reasons why I'd give myself 1-2 months of just using a tablet to see if I needed to go back. I think that the biggest thing I'd miss is the keyboard.
I get all my sunglasses at the dollar store. It is law in the US that any sunglasses sold have to be uv protectant and the dollar tree stores here have a selection of sunglasses that are trendy stylish shaped. I wear them until they get scratched up/ snapped but that usually takes a few years and I don’t have to worry too much about damaging them or losing them and can have a variety of them to be an easy fashionable accessory.
Yeah I feel like the quality doesn't get that much higher if you pay $10 vs. $100 or even $1000, especially in a casual use. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
Well as you said, it's a personal list. For me, I agree with 85% of your choices, but for example : my main "hobby" is Fix things and DIY so I have a really good "collection" of "tools" and with that I saved thousands of $ in my life not ask for repairing services. Probably I could be your friend that have the tool you asking for. 🤣
Hi Seve. I don't use/have/buy/ many things on your list already. I have a simple phone plan, nobody calls me, and I don't do internet away from home anyways. I don't need 5G, what would I use it for ?? My phone is mainly a music player. I have my Apple music and my Premium YT for ads, and my Google Data plan I pay for monthly. We don't "Collect" either. However Christmas is the big holiday here. We have very limited space for storing misc. items all year long. As far as seasonal items, I have a few different "Door hangers" I put out when appropriate. We live in a large building so it really does not matter to anyone else but me that they are on the door to begin with. If we do take out in Montreal, you are looking at upwards of $50.00 plus tip, if you are ordering in. I went to Burger King a few weeks ago, for lunch take away, and wasn't I surprised when the final bill came to over $40.00 for lunch for two !! I have a watch that I don't wear, but for occasions. My phone does the bulk of my organizational assistance. We get our yearly "calendar" from my in-laws every Christmas. We only have 2 closets. (1. clothing/sheets/misc. items 2. jackets/coats/Christmas) So as not to need any more BINS on the balcony, if we don't need it/use it, we don't Buy it. I have a few magnets from our honeymoon, a trip I once took, and a "RENT" magnet from hubby. Every book in my bookcase I have read, some several times. We do have a bunch of tea candle holders that make it nice in the winter. We keep an "Eternal Christmas Light" strand on the book case. We have SOME things that do not take up much space. I have a stocked tool box and a small desk cabinet with assorted odds and ends, tape, repair stuff, so I don't need to put in a maintenance ticket every time I need something fixed, that I can do myself.
Sounds like you've got a pretty efficient setup going on! I totally get the no 5G thing, I mainly use my phone for calls and TH-cam too, so I’m in the same boat. And wow, $40 for fast food, the prices these days are wild over there! Love that you have a few personal touches like the magnets and tea candles, makes the space cozy without the clutter. Also, having a toolbox is so important! You're all set for whatever comes up without having to rely on anyone else 😊
I have a $20 per month plan for my iPhone (if I can find cheaper I will get that) then I spend $100 per month on a Mobile 5G WiFi Router to take with me when I am away from home or when I am at home and my $80 per month Internet service is too slow/overloaded by my family using it heavily (often)
Now I feel super privileged that I have free internet at my home 😄 Or I mean I think I pay part of it with the rent but still the building provides it for the residents so I don't have to worry about it myself
That there is a huge portion of non-drinkers in Finland is a well hidden secret. But sobriety is a tradition that goes far back. But the "wild boys" have given Finns that reputation. Check the wide acceptance of the alcohol-monopoly "Alko", for instance. And all the restrictions, which EU has tried to demolish.
As for the 5G/4G plan... how about no internet plan? Ever since I got my smartphone few months back (used dumb phone for my whole life, switched because of the camera) I have no internet plan and honestly, don't need it. The amount of wifi coverage is crazy even in middle Europe and a lot of apps are made to work without internet connection - for instance I travel a lot and have an app that allows you to download offline maps for current region you are traveling to.
Canon M50 + Sigma 16mm F1.4. Not the best for photography but does the job haha 😁 I know quite little about cameras but hope your setup suits your photographing needs!
Coming from a pseudo collector, don’t ever “try to get into collecting.” I love my movie collection as I believe in ownership and investing into your passions, but it can be a slippery slope buy something you like, then something you might like, then something that you should like…
I dont buy bulk food because it is on sale anymore. Im currently first in the proces to finish all and going to take a good look how much and what I want to have in my pantry. Enough but not excess. And try to buy as less as possible processed food. So guess this is my busy with food months 😂 Ps love the bookreaders!
I've found myself going from having 2 kids home to feed, buying bulk packages of everything, to being one person to feed. So what works best for me is shopping the bulk isle where you just get the exact amount I need for myself. Keeps the kitchen clutter free, too.
I agree with you with almost everything but tablets. I bought one two years ago and it made my life easier since then. Less weight to carry, faster to re-charge, useful for reading... I work with it, play music, watch videos... And use my laptop just for the important things.
That's great and those are actually pretty solid benefits! Currently I have enough devices, and definitely don't need one but as with the smart watches, maybe a day will come when it will make my life much easier and I will for example not buy a new laptop when my old one breaks 😉
I agree with most of these but I do use a wall calendar, which I print for free off the internet. It is on the wall by my dining table and I can view the whole month as I'm eating. I would forget to check my phone calendar because I try to limit my phone use. I also use a tablet, mainly for reading digital books or magazines on Borrowbox. The screen is better than my phone, it's portable, and I get no distractions from calls or text messages. I use my PS3 as my dvd player. I don't use subscription services. I rarely watch TV, I don't buy a TV licence which you need in the UK to watch live broadcast TV. I only pay £5 a month for 5GB monthly data on my phone which is 5G, and I am ok with that. Everything else, I agree with you. I still play mega drive, SNES, PS1 PS2 games. I have no interest in modern games. I don't go to the cinema either. Every new film is advertised everywhere as the must see movie, then a week later, another movie takes its place as the new must see! I don't want to be part of that. I love your videos x
That's excellent! I forget to check my calendar ALWAYS whether it's physical or phone haha 😄 That's why notifications for example a day before are so useful for me. By the way, have you noticed a difference between 4G and 5G in your device?
@@SunnyKindJourney hi Seve. No I haven't noticed any difference. It was the cheapest package and just happened to include 5g. My phone was already 5G compatible even though I was using a 4G SIM card. I haven't noticed a difference in my day to day usage, but, if I do an internet speed test, it seems quite high, I get 210mb per second on 5G here in the UK, and only 7.9mb per second on my home WiFi

I agree with everything. However, I love music in the same way that you love sports so the only money that I spend in a collecion is my vynil/cds collection and music concerts. It just that I gave myself a monthly limit of how much I can spend on that 👍🙂
Where do you spend the most? I think if you’re not into cloths, decor or tech may be you like to splurge on travel but saying that business class, michel’in restaurant are the same as economy and $ restaurant is completely delusional. No hate just wondering!
I definitely spend most on "needs". I don't have too much left for wants but the amount I have I either save, invest, or spend on trips a 1-2 times per year. I don't think luxury vs. economy travelling is the exact same as I mentioned in the video but if you think about seeing new places in the world in general, economy can get you very far and the 3-10x price paid for the luxury treatment is not in my opinion worth it. I'd much rather have 3 trips to different places than one luxury trip to one 😉

That's a great tip! 😉
100% thumbs up from me!
Reading is one of my favorite enjoyments. However, I never buy a book. I use my local library system to read any thing I want. A wonderful pastime that is completely free.
Love that! 🥰📚
@@bettinak.4 Same system in Sweden and Finland! It's great!
I don't buy hair cuts, digital music, I don't get my nails done, I haven't updated my phone in 7 years and I've had the same car for 20 years.
That's just amazing! 🌿 I've had my phone for 6 years now. Have you been doing anything special to keep it in a good condition for so long?

@playeroflife Apparently not...
@@SunnyKindJourney 😅
You're right for they do not have to be expensive to be good. 👍
So true! I do that almost always as well 😇 Thank you!
Thank you so much! I am glad my videos resonate with you ❤️
@@SunnyKindJourney Indeed, they do!

Well said, and I totally agree with that! 🌿
I still have a dvd player and a small tv. I use the library to get free movies, music, audiobooks, and ebooks. I can watch/listen on my phone or tv. I save on subscriptions. I'll do this as long as I can.
That's smart! 😉

Thanks for sharing! I only bought a smartphone once with my own money. All my phones were hand-me-down from my father because he always got a new one every two years from his subscription plan. I think it all boils down to why you practice minimalism. Are you doing it to save money in order to live a certain kind of lifestyle-to travel-to live lightly upon the earth-for spiritual reasons? This sort of determines what things you would want to live without.
Exactly, we are all different! My next video will talk about this even more 🤗

Apart from the tablet 😂 on which I am now watching you! I love your choices. It’s the future!
How do you provide for your family? Stores? Going to work?
I grew up in the Midwest USA. 9 months cool to 20+ below freezing and 3-4 months 60-86 F I was miserable. Always cold, rainy and not much sun, trying to keep warm all my life till 37yo
I moved to Texas 2007, it’s the opposite of the Midwest. 9 months hot to warm 80-113F 3 months 30-75F, light snow and only last a week usually the week of Christmas and back to shorts and flip flops or sandals.
I enjoy the sun almost every day 300 plus days a year. It doesn’t rain unless the season changes to fall or spring and maybe 2-3 times in the summer and winter. When it rains…, the sky opens and the thunder shakes and quakes like the end is here. 😂 Crack! Boom!!! Because it’s rare it can scare you out of your sleep.

I live in Australia...an hour south of Sydney on the beautiful south coast of NSW.....sandy beaches all the way along the coast, without the crowds except for the 2 hottest months...Jan & February.....I live in a regional city. ...that attracts surfers for surfing comps in summer...and people in outer Sydney travel here for their weekends in summer...to have family fun at the beach.....
I live in Arizona and our water doesn’t taste good. I use a Berkey water filter. My filter lasts for years if you maintain it.
Thanks for subbing! And yeah, I have seen the same thing, not really here where I live but based on videos online. It starts to become the new norm 😅
I’ve stopped air fresheners, and candles. I will enjoy rarely.

I started my minimalism journey last year and it's been an amazing experience, great video
That's great to hear. And thank you! 😊
I have the same. Wouldn't want to know those either 😄
Haha, hope my videos can help! 😊
I wanted to like this video over 50 x! LOVE!!!
Thank you so much! 😊
If you'd shift to a tablet after the lap-top gives up - are there any features you would miss?
@@DNA350ppm great question. Not sure, it's one of the reasons why I'd give myself 1-2 months of just using a tablet to see if I needed to go back. I think that the biggest thing I'd miss is the keyboard.
@@yellit1975 OK sounds like an excellent strategy and the lack of keyboard probably would be a good point for me, too. How about your mails?

I get all my sunglasses at the dollar store. It is law in the US that any sunglasses sold have to be uv protectant and the dollar tree stores here have a selection of sunglasses that are trendy stylish shaped. I wear them until they get scratched up/ snapped but that usually takes a few years and I don’t have to worry too much about damaging them or losing them and can have a variety of them to be an easy fashionable accessory.
Yeah I feel like the quality doesn't get that much higher if you pay $10 vs. $100 or even $1000, especially in a casual use. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊

You're all set for whatever comes up without having to rely on anyone else 😊
thank you for sharing your thoughts

I have a $20 per month plan for my iPhone (if I can find cheaper I will get that) then I spend $100 per month on a Mobile 5G WiFi Router to take with me when I am away from home or when I am at home and my $80 per month Internet service is too slow/overloaded by my family using it heavily (often)
Now I feel super privileged that I have free internet at my home 😄 Or I mean I think I pay part of it with the rent but still the building provides it for the residents so I don't have to worry about it myself
I just save and invest in myself.
Dare to be exceptional.

No alcohol in Finland?! That's the single most unbelievable thing I've ever learned about you. 🙂
I am the black sheep 😄 Getting kinda used to it now
That there is a huge portion of non-drinkers in Finland is a well hidden secret. But sobriety is a tradition that goes far back. But the "wild boys" have given Finns that reputation. Check the wide acceptance of the alcohol-monopoly "Alko", for instance. And all the restrictions, which EU has tried to demolish.
So healthy!
What camera and lens are currently using. I like photography and use a Nikon D7500 and 18-300mm lens which I got second hand on KEH.
Canon M50 + Sigma 16mm F1.4. Not the best for photography but does the job haha 😁 I know quite little about cameras but hope your setup suits your photographing needs!
I like your videos! it's crazy how much money you can actually serve in longterm just by prioritizing 👍🏻
That's true! So many of our purchases are unnecessary if we don't know what actually makes our lives better and what's just something we "should" buy
Coming from a pseudo collector, don’t ever “try to get into collecting.” I love my movie collection as I believe in ownership and investing into your passions, but it can be a slippery slope buy something you like, then something you might like, then something that you should like…
Yeah sounds like it's hard to find the limit to that once you get started 😄
Do a housetour pls😊
I've done once in the past but those are not my cup of tea haha 😄 You'll see a lot of clips from my house in my videos though!
Enough but not excess, love it 🌞
I've found myself going from having 2 kids home to feed, buying bulk packages of everything, to being one person to feed.
Many ideas that I 100% with! Keep them up and don't be modest about them, as they inspire others, too! (High five!)
Gut gesagt!
Egal in welcher Reihenfolge.
My bookmarks are usually tissue paper or a peace of random paper. I loose them often anyway. 😀
That's next level haha 😄
I don’t buy concert tickets or any type of live performance tickets.
Yeah, it's just not the type of entertainment everyone enjoys I think. I'd much rather invest my money in other things too!
I agree with everything. However, I love music in the same way that you love sports so the only money that I spend in a collecion is my vynil/cds collection and music concerts. It just that I gave myself a monthly limit of how much I can spend on that 👍🙂
Love that! 🎶
It's nice that you make sure to use the correct English words.
Even though I'm sure it's not your native language
No it's not but I try haha. I still make a lot of mistakes but it's okay :)
@@SunnyKindJourney good job for doing these kinds of videos...helps the people who are lost in the hifi terms . Thanks
I could never get rid of my guitar collection but other than that I’m pretty minimalistic
And I don't think you need to either, if it gives you value 😉🎸
Agree with you
🌱🌱
I love books but I read them all. I use a scrap of paper if I don’t have a bookmark.
5g isnt more expensive here in poland. 5 G is amazing for download and uploud
Here it seems to be more expensive. Have to research it more I guess. Thanks!
@@SunnyKindJourney no problem. Ask lokal what are ppls speed on internet. I get 20-25 times more so it's worth af
R u the actor in young sheldon.. pastor rob
Is that Pedro Pascal? If yes, then I am, if not, then I probably not 😄
I think 5G is worse for your health. I can use 5G but have it set up in 4G, I would do lower but there nothing lower as an option on my phone.
😊
I dont buy:
Haircuts ( husband trims my hair.)
I dont get my nails done
No dryer sheets
No menstrual pads ( use cloth washable pads)
Dont buy new phones
No Gym membership
No Food baggies ( silicon reusable bags)
No Bottled water
No New cars.
I do my best to buy anything my family really needs second hand.
That's great! 😇
I don’t agree with the teeth brush, its still the same as a manual, you have to change it every 3 months, actual worse in my opinion because it needs electricity to work…so you wasting money x2
I need to find a lady downstairs who cuts my hair for $1 😂
(Jkjk, I've been cutting my own hair with a $20 Wahl clipper for years now)
Yeah I think I'd do that myself as well but my hair cutting skills are so poor 😂😂
Wahl-clipper, haha - sounds crazy, I don't know what it is. Usually I cut my hubby's and he cuts my hair (with a pair of Fiskars kitchen scissors, except when injury might make it diffificult). BTW, Seve said about 1 dollar/euro a minute! 30 min = 30 dollars/euros... It is cheaper to fall in love and just enjoy to take care of each-other! (Joke!)
I don’t buy courses anymore. I just consume content on TH-cam or on the internet. lol 😂
eh... I had never heard of the term 'Frugal'... and I am not proud of it...🙈😉
I dont buy mobile phone internet contrats, unlimited voice and data plans are usless crap, 5gb of data is enough.
No more contracts at all, nobtermination fees. Be fee.

Kiitos! Terveisiä Suomesta 😇

At the first few points, 70% of women lost this "challenge".😉 I have about 100 sunglasses! It's my passion.😎 I think most people instinctively like to own things.👠💎👑💵🚁🛻👗👜🚀⛵😂
Haha 😄 This is just my list so if you are passionate about something, and they bring value to your life, I am not judging 😊
