    I would like to suggest that you use 2 pieces of 3/8 rebar passed through the sides at the bottom to form a + with the base in the middle. That way the structure would be less likely to turn on it's side if someone snags it or a strong current tries to push it over.

    Never done it like that before. Seems interesting. We usually just take some cedar trees and tie off cinder blocks to them to get them to sink.

    This was a fantastic video! Hope you have one of them going into the lake! Awesome job! Fan for life

    Very cool. I’m going to try and build some and sink using gps, so at least they’ll be harder for everyone to find 😀

    Some of these are assumptions but I would say 1. Break Tip for pool 2. Tubing 3. Idk 4. Downspout 5. Flower Pot 6. A fan or a ventilator

    Do you ever put eyebolts in the middle to ease them down to bottom so they won’t tip over?

      I don’t but that is a great idea.

    Do you have another video of getting them in the water? How you choose where to place them and how you make sure they sink straight and don't lay on their side?

    • @CrappieMonster
      @CrappieMonster  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have any video of putting them in. I watch on my Livescope to see if they go down straight. I place them in current breaks and on ledges.

    How well do the ones with just tobacco sticks work? I thought about making some like this to sink from 10 to 30 foot of water for crappie & have never find it. Thanks

    The pvc will last forever but how long will the wood last under water? I have some pallets that I want to build cribs with.

    • @CrappieMonster

      I’d say it’ll out last us.

    I just saw pictures of that. What are they used for? What does it do for the fish?

    • @CrappieMonster
      @CrappieMonster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gives them a place to take shelter from current and bigger fish. Plus algae will grow and make food for them.

  • @johnsites5105
    @johnsites5105 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you rough up your pvc up for the alga growth?

    • @CrappieMonster
      @CrappieMonster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not. It only took a couple of days for fish to get on this structure as well.

    • @CrappieMonster

      Out of my dads barn. I’m from Kentucky and most any farmer up there will just give them to you.

    Can u drop those in the lake, legally?

    • @CrappieMonster
      @CrappieMonster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our lake you have to go to the Corp office and get a permit. It’s $50

      I’m pretty sure If you can pay the govt what they want, murder is legal.

    Fortunately this is one-hundred-percent illegal in the state where I live. Maybe yours too! We can have fish cribs with a permit for placement. They must be weighed down with natural rocks and made with poles and brush cut from trees.

    • @CrappieMonster
      @CrappieMonster  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most states require a Free Permit at the Corp of Engineers office. They inspect a picture or the actual structure for approval.

    It stinks because none of my lakes have any brush piles or stuff like this because it is against the law to put anything in the lakes.
