Before anyone says that the trigger has a lot of take up Before you hit the wall put on winter gloves and realize the geographical location of where the cold war era of the pistol design was made
Just picked up SP01 Tactical! Thanks for the review, any thoughts on the CGW parts for it? Are they worth it, feel a difference? I literally got everything that can be changed haha Spring kit, trigger, guide rod etc
I swapped out the hammer spring and recoil spring on my Shadow 2 with springs from CGW and overall I have been impressed. I kept the mods very minor and just wanted a slightly softer trigger pull and a lighter recoil spring. These guys know what they are doing. Just be sure to do your research before you go and make any major changes to the gun.
Fremont Nebraska here. Love my PCR and 74B Omega. How is the trigger break on that one? I love the recoil impulse on these and how they fit in the hand. Id want a better trigger break though. Let me know how this tactical trigger is in your opinion.
It is a very smooth double action trigger pull. The reset is fairly short and is not gritty. Has good weight to it when you pull the trigger. It is an awesome pistol. Thanks for watching!
That is a good question. I guess I was just seeing how the full reset felt. I know it's not necessary but it also allows me to feel where the "wall" kicks in before the trigger breaks, and I was also adjusting to the the overall grip if the pistol.
I was thinking the same thing watching him shoot also his support hand thumb is not resting on the frame while pressing a tiny bit of force thats why your shots when pulling the trigger are hitting low left.
I gotta ask: how does it feel in the left hand? Are the grips out of the box symmetrical or asymmetrical to fit a righty? I’ve been looking for a solid-steel pistol with a rail that’s not entirely unbearable to use left-handed. Slide release I’m used to with my Glock and I believe the mag release can be swapped over as well. Great review
It is symmetrical with an ambi slide stop/slide release and the mag release is reversible. It also has a few back straps that come with it. You may have to contact Walther about a mounting plate for your optic if you decide to go that route.
@@travisp11 thanks for the prompt reply! Was the tactical variant on the lower end of the price range the website shows? Website shows 820-900 bucks and I’m curious why the wide gap?
@@justinsane11 Oh crap! I saw the tiny thumbnail on my phone and thought this was my Walther PDP video. I am so sorry! I don't have the SP01 anymore as it was a loaner to the channel so unfortunately I dont have an answer for you.
Very well made video. However, the target distance is too short to evaluate accuracy with different bullet weights. At 7 yards everything should be in one ragged hole no matter the ammo.
This is true but the recoil impulse may be different causing the bullets to pattern differently. Also, I try a few different types of ammo to ensure that it will run function with different types of ammo.
@@travisp11 I'll Tell You Man The Shadow 2 is worth every penny but if you buy the spo1 you're getting just as fine of a gun for a lot less price not trying to talk you out of the Shadow 2 by any means but for the money if you're concerned about blowing the bank the spo1 is a great choice
Sire do love mine ! Over 5k rounds, not a single failure, ever.
Nice!!
Great vid. In the day and age of polymer wonders I always try to steer folks back towards all metal guns, CZ’s in particular. Rock on!
They are awesome!

Good point.
True that......
I told you it’s very easy to go down the rabbit hole once you’ve shot a CZ
There is a shadow 2 out there for me some where. I blame Füss. He let me shoot a few that he has tuned for competition and they are awesome.
@@travisp11 check out the AO1 compact from CZ custom

Catching up and watching SP01 vids. Haven't been around much lately. Good to see your review.
Thanks for watching and checking in!
Nice review. I have always liked the sp01 series, the triggers and grips really are wonderfull.
I agree!
sp02 is better
Try a CZ P-09 with the omega trigger . CZ get even smoother as you shoot them .
I love my SP-01 Tac but my mind was blown shooting the SP-07 which was equally capable at the range but $350 less and significantly lighter.
They are both great guns and I love me some CZ!

CGW work, worth every penny 👍

I'm considering this, or a Beretta 92X, primarily for home defense; I rarely carry a full size. Looks good.
Both are excellent pistols. I used to own a 92 FS Compact and it was such a smooth shooter!
@Papa Bleach Thanks for the perspective, Papa B.
@Papa Bleach Possibly look into an older production run or maybe a used 92.
I just bought a CZ SP 01 Tactical, any idea where i can find a good deal on mags for it?

Why are you fully resetting the trigger after each shot?

Get the Shadow 2. They are nice
That is the plan!
I had both. Still have the SP-01 Tactical, but not the Shadow 2.
You in Nebraska?
Yup!
Such a good gun i love mine
It is a very smooth shooter!
Cz makes some great guns. I just with the trigger wasn’t so curved. It bugs my finger for some reason.
Yeah, I used to notice that with my old Taurus 92 FS. Although I do find the curve not so extreme on the CZ
Buy the “old style” trigger from Cajun Gun Works.
What happen to this weekends chat?
I posted a community message on my channel. I moved into a new apartment this weekend. Will be back next Saturday

They should be dropping in price soon
