Tech tip, for cleaning out tapped holes use shaving cream! I read it in an old Hotrod mag and it works great. It suspends the metal particles and carries them out.
Did this on the floor of my freezing ass North Dakota garage last night and I gotta say the, “7-800 1/4 turns” is barely an exaggeration. Thanks for the videos, it definitely helps us everyday people!
Had a teacher at tech school and he bet us that he could torque a bolt with all of our extensions and still be accurate, with about 15’ of extensions the bolt was 25lbs and the torque wrench was set for 27. But it was important to not romp on it. Had to go nice and slow. If you pushed it too fast then yeah the extensions flexed and the torque wrench clicked
Random dude tech tip: Cutting threads in aluminum (especially cast aluminum) is much easier and much less problematic if you are using a tap made for cutting threads in non ferrous metals. They also don’t permanently clog up. The special tap clears the metal chips out without having to back the tap out a turn to clear the chips. Tap’s like the one used in this video are for use in ferrous metals, and have the tendency to permanently clog the tap threads and can’t be cleaned out making it nothing more than garbage. If a thread on the tap gets clogged and not noticed while running the tap in, the threads being cut will get all mangled up which is not a good situation to be in. Don’t ask me how I know 🙄🔫.
I fuckin spit out my lunch when you said “fighting that bolt is a damn right of passage” 😂😂 If you wanna stunt ride dynas you should have to remove and replace that bolt at least once just to prove you’re a real man worthy of the dyna 😂🤘
I thought I remember a video, where you guys had drilled a hole in the top of the baffle to allow the return to gather in the bottom quicker? Did that not turn out, or just not needed?
Hey kruesi/ comment section, your videos got me into Harley’s and I’m looking at getting a 2014 dyna fxdb with 20,000 miles for 10k. It has cams and several other engine mods and tons of bolt on parts. Does anyone kno if that’s a good deal with how many miles are on it ? If anyone has any helpful knowledge it would be appreciated 👍🏻
Decent deal wouldn’t be able to tell you 100 percent if it’s a good one though gotta see the bike in person miles aren’t that bad but you have to ask the seller a lot of questions as well Look into buying used bikes on TH-cam And always trust your gut feeling best of luck
I am not able to find the website for Allen wrench. Are they still a company? I haven’t been able to find anything anywhere else. Is there another place you’ve saw them for sale? TIA!
Awesome vids as always......If you have 100 ft lbs of torque on 1 end of a bar it's impossible not to have 100 ft lbs on the other. Impacts are different maybe that's how that shit got started. All Good 👍. Sold my Dyna 😢 time for another.
is the procedure the same for the 1995 model? and if so is it worth dealing with a 1995 model? if anyone knows anything please reply to me because I am from europe and you are my only source of knowledge about harleys :P P.S greetings from Greece you guys are fkn amazing!
Rad shit as always. I'm about to do this mod on my 2012 FXDB. I put a caliper in the pickup hole and it read 12.64 mm (1/2 inch). Am I right in assuming I need a 1/2 18 NPT tap and pipe? Hope you're making a quick recovery my man 🤙 Edit 1/2 14 NPT tap and pipe*
@@TheChimneyfish3 then it won’t be a ball Allen and it won’t do you any good. Unless you pull the exhaust the foot controls and the brake reservoir shaft.
It actually does a lot to lock it in place it fills the threads therefore it doesn’t release and vibrate. Definitely a good idea to put some sealant or Loctite in there. It’s a Harley Davidson They shake like a son of a bitch
@@kruesioriginals i was talking about the knipex cobra pliers 😂 those are my favorite pliers and i had a rep show me how to properly use them and he set them on a pipe and stood on with his full weight and they didn’t slip
I don't even own a dyna anymore, just here for the humor and random references to f is for family and other random sh*t. Keep it up 🤣
Finally someone got the reference

Perfect video for all the dyna stunt bros 🔥🔥
Preciate the vid, just finished my
Oil pan mod
I was able to heat up a 3/16 ball head Allen with a torch and bend it to the angle I needed 👍
Amazing content as always love the videos got me getting a dyna to drift and wheelie
Let’s go, thank you
Always dropping heat💯
Wonder if you could get to that bolt with a WFMC mini ratchet
What oil pan gaskets do you guys use?
Would the process be the same on an 80 inch?
I don’t know the answer to that one
Use a 1/4 fuel line on the bolt once u get it loose. Put it in the head and back it out. Same way when putting it back on. Save ya 1/4 turns
Do you guys use bel-ray mineral oil for your bikes?
No, we do not at all, we use klotz racing 60 wait synthetic

Do sporsters require this oil taps as well?
No they are different

Yes actually after further research it’s kind of a necessary. So we don’t do it anymore. It was a good theory but kind of a waste of time
Love your videos bro! 💪🏼
I have an 03 super glide I’m trying to do this with, is the tap size and pipe size all the same? Hope the neck is feeling better!

Where do you get the vrass pipe from?
Ace Hardware

They’re both good in different ways
Great video, thank you for the knowledge!
You are welcome thank you for watching
where did you get the brass extension from?
Says ace hardware but this pipe doesn’t exist with the threads already on. Assuming it needs to have threads cut into it via die
I'm really liking these vids

I did have to pull the brake rod off. I should order that ball Allen just to have it

Shouldn’t be a problem as long as you have it pretty snug. The dope is to mostly make a good seal and does near nothing to lock it in place
