- Kia ora from New Zealand! I'm Donnalouise - a puzzled puzzler puzzling puzzles who is practicing for the first New Zealand Jigsaw Puzzle Association's National Speed Puzzling Competition in Auckland! I do three 500 piece speed runs and throw in some pairs runs with Alison as well. What puzzle do you think we will get at the competition - circle? nature edition? typical? Leave your guesses below!

I thought the circle puzzle would be much easier! 😮
I just couldn't get my head around the pieces hehehehe I need to practice more of them.

Wow! You really did well on the 'Two of a Kind'. Don't beat yourself up -- you did fine on the others, under 90 minutes. I found that the Circle of Colors puzzle go together better if you start from the middle and work your way out....that's what I've done, and it was actually fun. Best of luck!!

Good luck and looking forward to the recap!! I feel your pain with the circular ones, at least the circle of color series can be grouped by color. If you ever try the Little Sun collection, those are just all over the place. Tbh, at this point "circle" is the new "fur" for me 😂😂😂

i have done 4 circles of color. If you know one, you know them all, the cut is the same as far as I can tell. I have one more, but I will not buy more. PS: my favorite beauty is the underwater world. 🌎
I do believe the piece cut is all the same and perhaps the more that I do, the more familiar I would get with them. Alison and I did two this weekend and I was already doing better with them.
I had a feeling that the Desserts one would take you the longest, and I was right. These Circle of Colors puzzles are not as easy as they may look. Well done for getting such a good time for the Two of a Kind puzzle. I'd be surprised if you had any Circle of Colors puzzles at the competition. I got the impression that they are hard to get in New Zealand. Good luck for the competition and I look forward to hearing all about it in due course.
The circle ones are nearly impossible to get in NZ - have to import in. Hope to have the competition recap video up this week - it was so much fun!

Were you trying out a new technique? I thought you mostly did a full flip technique on 500 piece puzzles.
I did my pick-and-place / build-as-you-sort but left the pieces in the box to keep them more contained.
