Bought a R8 Spyder 2018, RWS for 120kusd. To be honest at this price point there is nothing else that beats this. V10 naturally aspirated, rear wheel drive, Cabrio, I am in love
First, thank you. Always a high quality market analysis. As a 2018 V10Plus owner I watch the market very closely, and your data reflects it accurately. The price value overlap between Plus and Performance drives some of this market. The Performance seems to not be anything better than the Plus so a $10k-$20k difference may impact the market.
Great video. Exactly what I wanted to see! Like magic! :) Next question is will the market for cars like the R8 go down 20-30% in the next two years.... The cars that had the highest percentage of increase have further to fall, the P cars.... Hmmmm
I think you’ll be seeing a shift in this, and a different value trend. Especially for the new gen R8’s. It’s still early to tell how they will perform. They are one of the last sports cars rocking a V10, at least an achievable one. They are also discontinued, for now, so I don’t see their prices dropping in any case.
Something tells me the last generations of R8 will go way more higher in the future. Had made order for one earlier this year, for “no mark up” as dealer claimed, however the order was cancelled due to “world crisis” 6 months later, so did the dealer claimed, by that time these cars are in the markets of $200ks+, it made me wonder if the dealer had somehow gave the allocations to the highest bidder.
@fourwheeltrader. I have been following your analysis for some time. I have a simple question for you. I currently have 992 911 GTS (PDK, Light Weight package, PCCBs) with 1,400 miles (traded my 2018 AMG GTR in Spring of 2022 for this GTS). This incoming summer I will most likely be betting allocations for 992 911 Turbo and R8 V10 (can go with RWD or AWD). If you were in my shoes what would you choose from value point of view. Just to throw another option I am looking into 2018 Lambo Huracan LP 580-2 with , 10k miles too. Still have few months to decide. Your input would be appreciated.
Did you make a decision? I'm looking at R8 V10 Plus/Performance and AMG GT C's and R's mainly, but also considering 911 (S or GTS, others are too expensive) just because how good they are at everything. I love the engine of R8, the looks of AMG GT and the practicality of 911 - I'd love some insights from someone who potentially has already owned all of the above.
Facelifted Gen 2 only came in 2020 ... so it would be impossible for them to increase in value by 20% with higher milage and beeing 2 years older. The Gen 1 and pre-facelift Gen 2 had already been heavily depreciated in 2019, so there was much greater room for prioce increase.
While I agree that 10% increase in this market is disappointing. But what about the “olden days” where cars actually dropped in value. I’m keen to watch the videos over the next few years when cheap money no longer floods every marketplace. And who will be left standing. Likely 911’s as always. We have no imagination.
The problem with the R8 is the upcoming C8 Z06 is going to wipe the floor with it and do it for less money, ALL THE WHILE having just as nice of an interior.
*What car would you like to see analyzed next?*
Hey would you be able to do the Maserati Granturismo? Thanks!
Murcielago
AMG GT. From zero to hero
Love these updates. Keep up the great work brother. Im happy with my Gen 1 manual R8 price :)
Bentley Continental GT
On a car channel we had just talked about what car, other than a 911, was a good buy around $90-100,000. The R8 was a top choice.

I love how the turbo s set the market

the chip shortage made used models even more expensive than new ones as they can't be produced.
When are they now finally stop producing them? Normally prices get a significant boost after that 😊
What about 2023 Market now ?
The market update is on its way
Nissan Gtr drop much because gasoline can check ?

I’d still take an R8 over a Zo6. Way more aftermarket support, and a proven platform.
@@dantem306 for a road car, I could see that.
For track work, NO WAY!!!
lol they are different generations. And the Gm interior will fall apart after 7 years and not hold value.
Lol no, problem with R8 is only with slots. Probably all are already taken. So problem is only academical.
R8 looks way better
Just get a lamborghini it's a halfway house car
