Nice video Matt . Could you share your knowledge on some of the best ways how to store long term silver coins through a video . Would be very interesting to hear some of your experiences & thoughts .
Thanks for watching! That's a great idea, I've got a few things cooking at the moment but once I get the time I'll definitely put something together ☺️
Had to share this with my daughter who loves pokémon (and who I've been trying to get into coins) :) Your silver stacking piece reminded me of a set I nearly bought - the 1oz chess crown set which I think was 8 one ounce pieces you could join together to form a crown. I love stuff like that, very imaginative :) Maybe a video on the most unusual and interesting "coins" or even, are there other "sets" like that which physically join together?
oooohhhhh mannnnn...If I had my old binder.....I had EVERY first generation holo and American promo like the 3d pikachu. I even had many first editions holos.... I told my dad when I went to college to hold them as they could be worth something someday....ANNNNDDD there gone.... Probably at least 30k worth of stuff. Squrtle was my favorite because he wore sunglasses and was in a street gang (squrtle squad). In 7th grade, I wore sun glasses and thought I was in a street gang...so we are the same. Really cool video. Coins are more of my jam as you know. I am all about the world bullion. So many world stories to discover.
Yes, we collect all sorts of things don't we? I started with stamps and coins/banknotes as a kid. Later on Jack Daniels, which made lots of friends the world over that I'm still in contact with, Lego and now coins again and bullion. Where does it stop? 😅
I have lost my original base set ( the original 150 pokemon cards), not first editions though. Gutted to say the least haha. Jeez I was proud to have them all... maybe I'll find them one day haha 🙃
Thats a good battle!!!! Hard winner for me! I collected Pokémon cards growing up and started collecting Pokémon cards again about 5 years ago. Im obsessed with both Pokémon cards and coin collecting!! Outff. I love both so much, the new releases and the excitement of opening blister packs and completing a set of Pokemon cards is soooo good! Same with getting a new release in numismatics etc. i love it! Im gonna say for me right now coins win. And then pokemon cards and then pokemon go!!!!! Oh and yughio cards and afl cards! Mmmm
Ohhh nice one!!! Yu-Gi-Oh was a heap of fun back in the day too! I couldn't keep up with all of the varieties and similarly the new generations of Pokemon go over my head but I'll always have a soft spot for the original 150ish! 🥳🥳
@@ThompsonsCoins yea i agree! Confuses me too with yu-gi-oh Its those secret rares!!! The new Pokemon sets are insane! The artwork is amazing! And pulling them is even better! Do you play Pokemon go?!
Collecting anything is one of humans basic needs. The need to have something for yourself. The only thing that I think I would not collect is used staples. 😅
I was trying to think of something nobody else in the world might collect. The best I could come up with was pencils. I wonder if anyone out there has a pencil collection? 😂
Will coins be tokenised? If so that will make collectors super rich. $propy , the tokenisation of real estate for example. We have to think outside the square bro.
I have coins from 300 AD I do believe I brought them for a very fair price of $5 each from a place called Thompsons coins (you mite of heard of them a very reputable coin shop in Melbourne highly recommend 👍) I also em a very proud owner of a 1913 Commonwealth of Australia £1 banknote which is the latest and greatest addition to my coin and banknote collection I also collect vinyl records and skateboards which also have a interesting history in menny very cool ways eg all the really cool old classic records of Rock n roll, punk, metal ,ect also playing a big part in the creation of hip hop and dance music and skateboards are just damn cool being a way that surfers could surf when there was no waves made of a roller skate cut in half and nailed to a peace of timber 🪵🛼=🌊👍😎 old bottles are another interesting collectable with interesting history and old lighters and pocket watches is another with gold and silver makes with a vast history. Love your content❤and happy easter to the Thompson family 🐰
Thanks mate!!! I've always been taken with skateboard artwork but never had the space to store them unfortunately! Records are another fascinating and highly important part of history and culture for sure!! 👍👍
People love collecting so many different things ❤❤
You're absolutely right 🥳
Love your work! You know you shouldn't get changed near a Pokemon cause it might Pikachu
Hahahaha wise words 🤣 thanks for watching!
😂 Pokémon Dad jokes 😂
Matt you should make a video reviewing your entire personal collection!
I think it'd be a pretty long video 😂 a great idea though!!!
@@ThompsonsCoins haha
Great timing! As a fellow dad who primary schooled in the 90's, now looking at getting back into basketball cards for nostalgia and investment.
It's a lot of fun and there's certainly plenty of options out there! 🥳
Very interesting video. I think the best thing to collect is something you genuinely enjoy collecting.
I’ve never met a single person who collects something they hate 😂
@@kaynef6637 Same here.
Absolutely, a lot of people can get caught out with FOMO and forget to enjoy the process 🥳👍
@@ThompsonsCoins Exactly!

Hiya Matt. Thanks for the video and agree completely, collect what you like! Cheers ✌🏻😊
Thanks so much for watching! 😊

Such a brutal and common story! It's fascinating to contemplate how many valuable collections ended up in landfills across the world 🤯
@@ThompsonsCoins makes me want to get a shovel…

So many great communities in various areas, it's great to have you as part of the coin world! 🥳
Magmar is your favourite that’s awesome 🔥

yo yo, lighters and harmonicas
I've seen a few videos on vintage lighter collections, I had no idea how impressive the old designs could be! 👍👍

I'm sure they are popular in some parts of the world 🤣

So you don't trade those "Coles" Pokémon cards? Oh my, that is so disappointing!
There's no shortage of promotional cards nowadays! 🤣

Pokeman , good luck if there’s a house fire 😂 if it makes people happy it’s a good thing .
For sure! Always best to keep these things as safe and secure as possible! 👍👍
Give me coins, however give my 30 year old a Japanese Pokémon card and she would hand over the bullion 🤷♀️
Everyone's got their preferences for sure! 🥳 Give me the bullion too!
Why not start a pokemon coin series? That way you get both 😅
You're a genius! 🤑😎
Beanie Babies!!
They were absolutely massive back in the day!! Is the market still big for those?
No i think the bottom fell out of it!!
First 😊
Thanks for watching mate!! 🥳
