Congratulations on your videos and new shop. Andrew Crellin introduced me to Proclamations when he was based in Sydney and showed me his (then) recently released book. My family got a (autographed) copy for me last year. I went to the recent ANDA show in Sydney looking for a Star Pagoda to finish my set and I was so interested in my quest that I didn't realise that you were in attendance. My set ( minimum VF) cost about $15k.
Your videos are great Matt, but I would've liked to hear you explain the retention of coinage a bit better. The values of the coins were all intentionally inflated by the proclamation, with the easiest example being the cartwheel penny being doubled in value to 2 pence. So any ships that took cartwheel pennies with them when they left the colony instantly lost half their value.
@@wellactually1510 there are many things I want to discuss but I try to keep my videos straightforward for collectors at all levels, if I had time and didn't have to open the shop this video would have been about 90 minutes 🤣

That is a beefy coin! Really cool!! I have the re-strike bullion of the Ducat! Really cool! The luster on the gold coin is FANTASTIC! When are you going to write a book?
Great video and some beautiful coins! - I think the other intention with the proclamation was to over-value the coins - so the lovely copper coin you had which was worth one penny in the UK, was worth two pence here - so it was worth trying to keep them in the colony rather than send them away on ships where they weren't worth as much. Looking forward to seeing what other proclamation coins you get in (even if I can't afford them!)
You not running off on a tangent? Keeping things susinct? Have you met you before? And one of those books could be interesting. Go well with my new bullion bars book
Love the vid Matt, as always a well presented vid 😉 Couple of questions... Are the gold coins 22k like the sovs, or 24k? And what would a full set cost at today's rates? Btw... Won't be in Perth when you're here for ANDA.... You'll have to coincide it with my work roster for next year 😂
