Marisa comebacks are nothing to brag about. All it takes once she has lv3 is a single mistake. Then it's guess for game for anyone besides Gief and Honda.
No, that is WILD. Du typically wins it all every week; at worst, he gets sent to Losers and then comes back and wins Shin Grand Finals anyway. To see him stomped on 3-0 like that is basically unheard of.

Why didn't EZR-V do any of his super moves during Du's attack string? Even I saw from a mile away that the drive impact was coming and I'm a scrub compared to these Master-ranked players.
The one thing I don’t see lots of high level players do even though it works at all levels is raw DI in footsies. I know as a fighting game player it’s completely against our nature but most characters max range pokes and normals aren’t special cancelable and also don’t recover in time to DI back or block. Also low forwards get blown up by raw DI in footsies bc they’re not remotely hitconfirmable and even hitconfirmable buttons can get trashed based on the timing of the DI unless you’ve got a Ken heavy punch or DJ cMP type button that’s super active. I think a big criticism of the system mechanics is that blocking isn’t encouraged at all so I personally think DI should at least be unsafe on block to keep its use limited to blowing up big gaps, the corner and obviously reactionary punishes on fireballs and neutral skips. I think marking it like -6 with no pushback would really get rid of the yolo factor. Also stuff like perfect parry needs tuned and DRush needs to be balanced but since that’s unique to characters I wouldn’t classify it as a full on universal mechanic. Honestly tweaking both DI and Perfect Parry to get rid of their yolo factor and rewarding blocking just a tad more I think the mechanics would be in a really good place. Other than those I really think that drive reversal should be better idk why drive rush varies between characters yet drive reversal is universal and it’s pretty mediocre. It would be better if Ken who has a great DR had an atrocious reversal and if they made perfect parry more unsafe then he’d have to commit more on parry reads. Same with if they made Ryus reversal super strong. I’m just rambling but I really think this game is great and I’m usually the type that cringes when people say “buff everyone instead of nerfing” but in this game I’m kinda on that track I think everyone has a really cool kit and some characters need their kit leveled up to gel with the system mechanics.

They make her a viable character after 2-3 of them. Before that, she is trash tier. In contention for worst character in the game.
