NFS ProStreet: Announcers' Reactions to Questionable Car Choices pt. 2 - Leon Cupra and M3

Not adding the dialogue for specific car vs car races in this video because it'll take me a long time to find all of those + it would make the video WAY longer than it needs to be

Also, after messing around with Vlt-Ed trying to change the audio for the C6 (to no avail), I realized that the announcer's dialogue for "odd" cars is triggered by a value titled "Speech_Fish_Out_Of_Water." Managed to confirm this by changing the value for the Gallardo to the same one as the Murcielago and sure enough, the announcer called me out for using the Gallardo in a drag race.
Oddly enough, there are values for all of the Acuras, Hondas, VWs, and even the Focus ST, but the voice lines won't play no matter what I do. Maybe they go unused within the game files, but I'm WAY too lazy to extract the individual audio files. Someone else who is more motivated than me will have to find those one day 🤣 - เกม

the irony is that the SEAT is one of the best FWD drag cars in the game - but FWD drag is understandably not ideal lol

ProStreet had a normal S3, not an RS3. But yeah eitherway, the announcer is stupid

Cut content, probably. They recorded a whole bunch of lines and just left them all in. There's also the Chevelle line in which the commentator mocks you for drifting in it when a Battle Machine race day literally forces you to use it for the drift events. Game panned out differently, that's what you get with a one-year dev cycle
Nop, not even an RS3, it's an S3, the RS3 was launched after the game was launched. And the S3 is basically Cupra, same base, same engine, same everything except exterior and interior looks. And both are just spiced up Golf GTIs which are just spiced up Golfs

'cojones' means 'balls' in Spanish. The announcer is basically saying that Ryan has some big balls to bring a Seat to a drag race
I like that it seems to also be a reference to the SEAT being a Spanish car (I couldn't find that dialogue for another car)

@@sb001_ I think some other cars also have unique quotes for their make, I remember one quote for bringing an Aston Martin to Drag was "Someone tell him this ain't no spy movie!" (Aston Martin being known for appearing in James Bond films) and bringing a HEMI 'Cuda to Drift giving "It is literally a fish out of the water" ("'Cuda" being for "Barracuda")
I find it hilarious that the announcers laugh at your BMW yet it really shredded that quarter.

I feel like a lot of the named racers like Joe Tackett are in horribly underpowered cars for their ‘reputation’. Also that last bit is why Drag can be nigh unplayable on the Wii, where the steering for drag doesn’t work.
the steering does work on wii for drag racing you have to tilt the wiimote sideways as if you were using a pan

If memory serves me correct, for WII Joe Tackett isn’t that bad in drag racing
Actually BMW M3 E92 is a highly tunable car. G-power sells kits (supercharger, intake, exhaust) that makes up to 720HP which is quite massive power even for drag-racing. So making fun of it by the announcer is just stupid :)
you can easily beat the game and become drag king in both these BMWs. so even ingame its pretty nonsensical. the seat is also the best FWD car for basically anything, including drag.
Problem I guess is that it’s FWD which means you can’t do any wheelie competitions
The problem is that you can get an e46 for cheaper which is slower but faster with stage 4 upgrades

There's another dialogue if the announcers comment on the car manufacturer against each other or the identical cars against each other.

I never understood why the announcers said some cars were bad choices for drag and drift, when those cars are actually pretty great for it in the real world.
They tried to meme it, but ended up making the announcer sound like a car guy that never seen tuned engines

Its my favorite car for the early game Grip races. It's a solid starter car
For basically all competitive purposes, the Leon is the very best FWD car in the game. Beats out the others in most ways.

It's quite ironic since the Cupra is the best FWD drag car. If it had a normal 403 km/h top speed hard cap, like most cars, it would actually be viable for the whole game as a drag car.

I used the E92 m3 for drag racing once. it was good
and i used a e46 m3 for drag. it was a hidden gem

@clvtch444 yeah, the European scene is interesting - the vw group cats with the 1.8T or 1.9 TDI are the most common choice for people
Interestingly enough the GTI, Golf R32, both Civics + S2000, Focus ST, and the Acura cars all have data under the Speech_Fish_Out_Of_Water field in Vlt-Ed but I tried for hours to get voice lines to trigger for all of them but I couldn’t for shit lol
The E92 is a great drag car. My ride when playing it. And definitely got these lines ahaha.

The SEAT Leon Cupra is my baby. It absolutely dominates in the early game for Grip but it sadly doesn't hold up too well after Super Promotion. I still would bring one to Drag just to spite the announcer

My first time ever having pro street (wii), I used the m3 e46 as my drag car and I smoked everyone with it. I use the charger these days. Way faster

Probably because at the time BMWs were “unpopular” choices for drag racing compared to muscle cars, or maybe the devs just didn’t expect you to want to choose a BMW for drag. Either way I have no clue

If you fix the input slider at the bottom of the suspension tuning menu, it totally changes the game. Slam it all the way right.
