- Stop watching this. I hate this video and I’m not making any more like it. If you wanna subscribe for more videos like this, don’t waste your time. I’m done w announcer vids.
still check out the original video by Hierogliphix: • Announcer Lines in NFS...
Songs used:
Sneaky Snitch by Kevin Macleod
UPDATE:
Ok so a couple of viewers have brought to my attention that the announcer is very hard to hear. After rewatching the footage I can definitely say this was caused from using my headset while recording in OBS rather than my computer speakers. If you can’t hear the commentator very well, I just made some subtitles. Sorry about that you guys. My speakers are messed up on my laptop so I have to use my headset to play and I was unaware it would affect audio quality.
also I never in a million years would’ve expected this video to blow up the way it did 💀 thanks so much to all of you who took the time to watch, like, and comment! I really do appreciate it
Edit: This video sucks. I no longer make ProStreet announcer content, so if you want to subscribe for that, don’t bother. If you want to subscribe, do it to support me creating content I actually enjoy making that I hope you all will enjoy too!
and yes don’t worry I’ll still make ProStreet stuff occasionally but announcer content is done on this channel.
Could very well be. But like I was saying I think it could’ve been my headset because the audio on headphones is that much better
Subbed and liked, thanks for the effort fren
Thank you for adding the subtitles, they really help
@@Joseph86__I don't think your headphones is the issue. You're on a laptop, so you probably also have a EQ app that came with your sound driver. Laptop sound drivers internally use a different EQ profile when you're using and not using headphones. When you unplug and use the laptop speakers, the EQ switches to an internal profile meant to make the speakers sound as good as it possibly can (i.e. tuned specifically for the laptop you have; this will also sound very "boosted" to everyone else who listens to this on headphones after you record the video), then when you plug the headphones back, the internal EQ switches off, and the sound profile returns to normal (or uses whatever custom EQ profile you may have created in the app).
If you want to hear what it *should* sound to everyone else in a recorded video, you need to disable the EQ entirely. Hope this info helps.
@@2007excalibur2007 gonna look into it when I get back home, thanks brother 💪
The CTS-V one didn't age too well because those absolutely rocket down dragstrips nowadays
Gotta love them LT motors 😂
In all honesty none of these aged well, the car community (especially now) has proven on numerous occasions that a lot of these cars are capable of doing a lot of the things the announcers said they couldn't. Granted some cars are better than others for certain task but is by no means impossible, especially drifting in muscle cars.
@@TheSeventhDeadlyMatadorBecause there are nobody cutting up the (back then) new cars to modify them. It's like bringing a Aventador SVJ to a small town drag strip, or a 911 GT3 that just rolled off the production line to a drift event.

In my opinion ProStreet nailed the whole “racing festival” theme and atmosphere better than most games today, and stuff like the announcer really adds to it even if you don’t notice it at first. This game was criminally underrated.
Edit: spelling
Pro street and Horzion 1 nailed the vibe, wished that Horizon would stick with it instead of feeling...idk more corporate?
I would love a new ProStreet game. Despite the flaws this game had so much character and was a lot of fun to play.

Long time ago in the late 2000s, there was a Hankook sponsored drift team who build a classic 993 as their drift car (with Tyler Mcquarrie as a driver) to compete in Formula Drift. It's not a new car but I was surprised to see it in action on some old drift videos lol.
There was an FD driver who used a 599 for ages, and still does haha. That to me is even more insane

The funniest part is that at 3:07 the announcer says the line about drifting in a 70s chevy, when the ai driver before him was in the exact same car
At 15:28 announcer should said to opponent that selecting Chevelle may be a serious miscalculation instead of saying to Ryan using C2 Vette 😂

@@ranggapratama4726Tony Manila uses a Classic Camaro they can drift despite being a boaty muscle car.
@@SpeedDemonPowerage98 mate you can drift even a SUV the only difference is weight transfer is harder to control in those though you get use to it, a guy used to drift a Holden Monaro in Formula Drift when this game came out, those monaro are heavy they tune the suspenssion and you have a car to drift, you just need Torque in it to make it drift, Hemis have a huge amount of torque same as Holden V8s
Thinking about this years later it's actually insane. That means Blackbox would've had to essentialy code a "right/obvious" selection of cars for certain events and the announcer would've had to record their lines for all those unlikely scenarios...the atrention to detail is crazy for 2007
Especially considering ProStreet was, by EA’s own admission, very heavily rushed. Insane they were able to shoehorn in all that detail in such a short space of time when most people would never have noticed.
@@toypop96 ProStreet was really meant to be a filler game so they released something in '07 and sink more time into Undercover lmao the irony
@@toypop96 Looks like EA actually cared for ProStreet instead of Undercover.
@@LorikQuinn ProStreet was not meant to be a filler game. It spent almost as much time in development as Undercover did, and in fact Black Box was split into two separate teams to work in both games.
It was a mainstream NFS release, and although it was rushed for its 2007 release, it was not a game that was simply cobbled together in a few months as many people seem to believe.
@@ToyotaSPRINTERTRUENO1986koukiI'm currently playing this game on my old PS3 and I own Unbound on PS5. This game is leagues better. And I'm an A$AP Rocky fan and can admit this game is MUCH better. Kinda confused why EA and the NFS series haven't done another one but more sim oriented. Especially with the dodge demon... the madness at Goodwood over the years... prostreet could be doing it better than everyone again. I really hope so soon!!!
I remember that i once totaled a lambo on a speed race and after said race the announcer said: "Woaah, Ryan cooper just totaled a lambo, a car many people have never even got the chance to drive, let alone, wreck!"
I loved these little details
"Hey folks, someone forgot to tell em' this ain't no spy movie" has to be my favourite line.
The commentator also have their own reaction if you and your opponent bring a respective car in drag race. Example, when you and your opponent both driving Hondas they have unique reaction to it (this is likely more known because you can just trigger it in first Battle Machine event), and then another reaction that i knew is if you and your current opponent bringing Chevrolet and Dodge against each other. The commentator will be hyped to the thought of Chevy vs Dodge showdown.
Oh and also they have unique response when you totaled specific cars. And not to mention they also have unique response if a famous rivals like Gavin May, Rudy Chen, JP Laurent, etc. is totaled in previous races. Man.... the amount of details put in this game is staggering.
And then they made the boss races really easy. Not to mention that Joe Tackett guy from APEX GLIDE. Like, he's hyped up as THE JOE TACKETT. Feared Drag Racer, GOAT. and then you race him and you could beat him on foot.
It's also kinda funny how the female drag boss is called a DRAG KING, like how the others are. I think it's a reference to Drag Queens (men who dress as women). There's another funny bit where there's a sign in one drag race that says "feel the power of 500 horses" despite the fact that by the time you would be in the event your car would have Wayyyy more than that.
@@georgebull-mclean3333 A Drag King is a woman that dresses in a manly manner and acts as stereotypically masculine as possible as part of a routine or a show.
In Karol's case, she's a woman competing in one of the most "masculine" (Drag tends to be associated with big bloc muscle, and the like) disciplines in a male-centric sport (professional racing). With that in mind, her title actually MAKES PERFECT SENSE.
@@georgebull-mclean3333Man, most bosses suck but the worst offender is Ray Krieger. That guy will ALWAYS either total his BM or bunk it deep in the sand. Who is that?
@@KingLich451He is known as endurance racing commentator, especially in big race like Le Mans 24 Hours, WEC, IMSA or other events. In ProStreet he plays as Roger Evans, React Team Session's announcer
At first I was wondering where I recognised that voice. Then it hit me.
13:57 was the funniest one, especially saying "What's it doing here?" as the camera turns.
This is low-key the best nfs game just for the announcer comments alone
The announcer definitely adds a level of detail and immersion I have yet to see in a modern NFS imo
The game feels much more alive because of it, this 2007 semi-legal street track racer is tow to tow with most freeroam games because of how alive it feels
yeah but nah
Imagine if Undercover was just an open world DLC for this game. Or vice versa I guess lol
@@Namiz00 I really want something like this and Juiced to make a comeback. Serious racing not taking itself THAT seriously is severely missed these days.

The announcers seriously underestimate how far some people are willing to go with their tuning setups
A Civic can go 404Kmh on a speed challenge without drafting.
Stage 4 + manual clutch + stock gearbox glitch (optional)

Corvette Stingray needing to powerslide for over 200m for any kind of turn 😂😂
Funnily enough, i've found a good chunk of the Muscle drift cars mentioned here are actually pretty fun to drift when set up properly. The torque is just boundless, and the weight really makes them a joy to swing around!
Hell yeah! I’ve personally found the 69 Charger to be a fantastic drift car especially on the Autobahn and in Willow Springs
I thought the same. I chose the famous "no grip" Nate 65 Pontiac for drifting and it did extremely well
@@KenTheChadDoing a playthrough currently and I’ve chosen a ‘65 GTO as my drifter and it’s awesome
I’ve also chosen a AE86 as my speed challenge car haha it accelerates like crazy then spends 90% of the race redlining at 160mph, good for the first few speed challenges but will have to think of another crazy car to use later on
Ye, winning the Chevy in the Willow Springs challenge is only overshadowed by the fact that the IS350 is insane on wheelies.
It's a fantastic drift car. Then again, we've seen what classic American muscle can do going sideways from Tokyo Drift, so is it really surprising?
Yep like in carbon my drift car was a 69 charger and it did great
this is clear proof that how much developers actually worked on this game, these small attention to details are the things that make you realize that Prostreet was not bad , it was just different in a good way.
The details this game had didn't feel like that it was just a filler title before the release of Undercover.
That's because ProStreet wasn't "filler". It started development right after Carbon finished and spent almost as much time in development as Undercover did.
@@ToyotaSPRINTERTRUENO1986kouki hmm that's what i was saying that many people said the Pro Street was a filler title. but the amount the work of that had gone into the game said other wise.

Top notch quality, dynamic commentary.
Best NFS ever.
"Drifting in a 70s Chevy?" Right after the front guy left with a 70 Chevy as well hahaha
I love that they added such specific voice lines but the way they trigger annoys me sometimes. Like when they announce that you might get an invite to Noise Bomb... even though you are already the drift king.
Huh. I did hear the noise bomb invites but usually they end after I compete in their events
Consider this as an invite to other season of NB.
Black Box-era NFS was an amazing time
I love that this NFS is still loved and relevant. Staying under the shadow of Most Wanted or Underground must have been profitable on how well Pro Street aged.
This kind of attention to detail you just don’t see in modern games. I vividly remember the announcer commenting on how my car was the same as one of my competitors.

The NFS community recently did an overhaul of the game with with a mod called the Pepega Mod. They've added a lot of cars and moves some tracks to different modes too.

Also: I found out that as odd as it is, 1st Gen GTO's are probably one of the best choices for Drift in NFS PS.

Woah! I didn't know John Hindaugh was in ProStreet! How cool!! Such a recognizable voice in MotorSport
I won't lie, announcers in that game were the BEST part of the background, giving their commentaries on EVERYTHING, even on the new car you brought to the Race Day for the first time, like Supra, E92 or something expensive.
Hell, Prostreet is still one of the best games in this whole "race day" theme. It feels just right, in all the senses of fun.
My GTO from the Energizer Pack DLC was my *favorite* car to drift. The tuning you could do in this game was every car nerds wet dream at the time and I thank you so very much for bringing those memories back!!
NFS ProStreet really needs a modern remaster including even more events like a Gumball Rally, TX2K, King of Hammers in a moving sprawling country to country festival.
An idea I've been holding on for years but would be a pipe dream, would be to mix Horizons freeroam with Pro-Streets licensed track locations.
All the legal events from England, USA, Germany and Japan tracks and all, with freeroam and illegal illicit events taking place at night around the festivals of each locations cities.
Imagine doing a drift event in Ebisu and street racing in Shibuya at night for just a thrill.
Time Attack at Willow Springs and Drag racing through California highways.
ProStreet has so much potential to bring the franchise back merging both Underground and Pro Street/Shift.
I love those ideas 🔥 my fantasy for a very long time was something VERY similar: like the original ProStreet, but with a night mode with highway racing like on the C1, breaking into the track at night to race, touge battles/tandem drifting, and other illegal street racing all across the globe with cops involved, with pursuits somehow contributing to progression. I suppose kinda like Heat but with IRL licensed tracks, as well as ProStreet’s damage model and a revamped version of its handling. It would be a car enthusiast’s wet dream but I don’t see anything similar happening to ProStreet/Shift again in the future unfortunately.
Plus, bring back real life drivers as bosses like in Shift 2 Unleashed, this is something you never see today.
No free roam please. All the other stuff, i'm in
@@Joseph86__same. I really want that for the series as it wouldn't be hard to do. The game would look like a grittier version of Need for speed , the version with RWB and Magnus. When I built a drift car out of a Plymouth Hemi Cuda, I was shocked when the announcers mentioned it being an odd choice
Just one of those things
Well, that's because in reality Muscle cars are fairly heavy so they can be a handful to manage, despite their natural aptitude to want to go sideways. Though, it's not like a full size sedan from that era which would be absolutely insane to manage!

I really love that track day atmosphere.
I do too. Playing this game now. So much fun
When I played ProStreet once more, I never realized how much attention to detail there was when the announcers noticed my car of choice. The dedication the devs had makes me appreciate ProStreet even more.
thank you for the subtitles!
Cool. I always was too lazy to unpack the files for those and even more lazy to go car by car for those. As I've picked classic muscles for every kind of races, I've heard a lot of that for my drifting Barracude and Corvette.
I've also happened to pick CTS-V for drag. And it kind of puzzled me why the hell a V8 car is not a good choice for drag racing.
On an unrelated note, they also definitely make commentaries about muscle cars if you choose them for Speed, but they are not specific lines by car - just a couple of lines for all of them.
Ya man going into the files is way too much work, trust me I was trying to do so for most wanted with the unused police scanner dialogue 😂
As for the CTS my THEORY is that they recorded those lines for the base model CTS but they ended up being used for the CTS-V for some reason. Still, beyond me.
Also personally I would’ve liked for there to be specific lines for when you use classic muscle cars in grip races considering they’re honestly terrible choices for grip imo
@@Joseph86__ That's a solid theory about CTS. And muscle cars are quite terrible for Speed races as well, yet announcers kind of praise them in Speed. Either way, I've did almost all the Grip on Chevelle and I've did a lot of Speed in Charger - no one can hold back my love of classic american muscle.
And I've actually went into the files, but I've did so to fix physics a bit for the latest ProStreet session, becuase I've got sick of how unfair physics are for some muscle cars. Frankly, looking at some values made me think that things didn't quite go as planned in physics department. Roadrunner has aerodynamics of 10 - darn Zonda has 7. Therefore announcers probably didn't know about the state of physics and how those will impact muscle cars either.
Now, I do not think going into the files for the sound would've been too much of a hussle for me, but what stopped me personally is the idea that I would've had to listen to the tons of monologue records - probably hours of them - trying to catch the needed ones.
i just freakin love minor details like this one
The Detail with the Announcer getting carried away talking about your car choice before cutting himself off to hype people on the race launch is amazing.
I wish we had the Chevelle in Unbound
Same man I haven’t even seen it in any NFS since undercover 😭
Maybe vol 6, if there will be a vol 6 lol
@@CuteSnackElli I wish!
You could feel the passion in the old nfs games compared to recent ones😢
Loved it man thanks for this the features on this game on the Wii were my absolute favorite. I get hate for it but dude it's just the best port, PC at second place for the mods.
Honestly, that's just one of those things that make ProStreet the most immersive NFS.
God I love that game.
The uniqueness of the dialogue in the game feels like this game is more alive
I remember the announcer laughing at me for driving a Dodge Viper on Grip race, though maybe i'm mixing things up
"you can't drift in that"
Me: "observe"
9:35 best one wheel car, thank you for subs too, it's sometimes really nearly gibberish for a non native 😊
Glad the subs could help
I was blown away by these details when I first played this game. It also kind of explains there is over 10,000 voice lines in this game.
They even have unique lines like this during the race day menus. The one I'll never forget is when I brought the React Team Sessions Drifting GTO to the first Noise Bomb race event. The announcer guy was saying very similar stuff. "What!? He brought a GTO!? Normally you see those things on the 1320. It's gonna be interesting to see that thing go sideways."
I heard that exact same thing 😂
DB9 doing a wheelie, what the heck? 🤣
The legend "*Ryan Cooper*" from MW it's here.
And you also found a cool reference to The James Bond movies.
That one honestly kinda surprised me a bit and is one of the coolest ones in my opinion!
I wish more racing games would have interactions like this!😂
"The man, the machine, the legend!"
Randomly had this video show up in my feed so I'm glad someone is getting ProStreet some love. Great video!
Something to note, multiplayer still works over LAN. I managed to send my copy of the game to some mates and all we had to do was set up a VPN client and we were good to go. Having never experienced the multiplayer back on the 360, it was an absolute joy! Recommend it for anyone who has nostalgia for this title. Cheers!
Definitely how times have changed, back then nothing except Japanese cars would drift. Now anything RWD can and will be drifted (ask the guy who made the OuttaDrift)
The announcers: _questions you for picking certain American cars in a drift race_
Dominic in Furious 7: "Who said American muscle can't drift?"
Nice video. Btw, from what I remember they also react when you bring a Seat Leon to a drag race lol
I’ll have to check it out myself, I knew I’d miss a couple. I was exhausted when I made this so there were definitely some choices I didn’t think of
@@Joseph86__Yeah I discovered it when I was broke so I bought a leon for every type of race (aside from drift ofc) lmao
@@kamikadze5058 sure enough there is dialogue for it! Nice find
@@Joseph86__ Please try to make a vid of the ones you missed if you can!
@@christopherc7075 sure! It’ll probably be after I upload random moments pt 2 and maybe I’ll even include dialogue for examples like Chevy vs Chevy, Honda vs Honda, Supra vs skyline, etc
This is my favorite drag/racing game of all time. Underrated masterpiece.
i remember when i was a kid fighting against ryo in drifting, and the fact i just buy stock barracuda and slap some nos and suspension and slap his shit.
muscle car in some people think its stupid to drift but all that power enough to help for sure.
Another cool detail I noticed from my childhood of playing this game for hours on the wii was how the announcers will, if you sit in the race day menu, talk about new cars that you just bought and brought to the race day. So crazy that they programmed all this in for a rushed game, and still my favorite NFS of all time. Just a blast to play.
"bruh look at this goofy, weak ahh car lmao"
