Nice tip. If you make a simple milliohm meter (from lm317, 12.5Ω resistor and DMM) you can see the improved pickup shoe to chassis connection by soldering a flexible wire between the two, and it can be hidden if you like :)
A more stable grinding method is to put the dremel in a vise or similar holding device,this will virtually eliminate any skipping or jumping which occurs while holding by hand.
