Forgot to mention that I also have a Sprint P08 filter and AIS block off plates. I assume it is tuned but I am unsure who it was tuned by and the previous owner didn’t know either. The owner before him got it done but sort of weird he didn’t know who it was done by. 🤔
Yup, ABS, Traction control, best quick shifter on the market...for upshifts only though. You'll need your right foot to control it wheelying on the throttle, even in fourth gear above 8000rpm (where the serious power kicks in hard.) That saying, at full power in sixth, you'll exceed 186mph and have to rely on the rev counter to work out your speed because that's how the Italians limit their maximum speed... they stop telling you, but don't stop adding the power. You won't crack 200mph, but you'll come very close to it. You'll need leathers with a hump on the back or you'll get a terrible battering from even tight leathers flapping around. The other thing is that you can still feel every beat of the engine, even at v-max... utterly memorable, but don;'t be fooled when you slow down as you'll think you can step off and park up at 90mph... your brain's still triple clocking while the world is back to normal speed. For road riding, you're best setting it up a bit soft, as it'll beat you up on standard settings, and on normal roads it's actually easier to keep up a decent speed. These things run really hot, scary hot in fact, but if you speed up it drops back down to just hot, so don't panic. So saying, they make for rubbish riding in groups with your mates, as everyone else rides too slowly and the bike heats up like a volcano! The 1299 engine is less race-like and still very powerful, while the V4 still sounds like a V-twin, but is even smoother. The thing is though, that these early iterations are the purest, and best in every important way for proper Ducatisti... raw, violent, bloody fast, noisy out of the box, rides like a race-bike, doesn't forgive wimpy riders, and will beat your arse into submission. I used to ride mine serious distances though, always fast, always keeping a weather-eye on speed cameras and traffic cops, and the only negative was the small fuel capacity. Just brilliant bikes.
I know it’s 7 months ago but I really enjoyed your post. That fuel range actually seems like a deal breaker to me, probably sounds ridiculous, but just seems comical. Amazing beast though, have an old ‘04 blade in mint condition and a Sportglide for slow days myself. All the best.
I have two ducatis, a 2013 multi and a 2018 multi. I drive the 2013 out of preference because of the engine, which is probably similar to your panigale if somewhat less powerful. The engine is just magnificent. Enjoy.
Does anyone know the differences between the 1199 and the 1299 besides the power? I am thinking of buying one or the other next spring. Has anyone ridden both and have a opinion about any differences?
@itsmeericb love it have the full Termignoni exhaust as well and it sounds absolutely insane. My last bike was a 2018 gsxr 1000r, sounded terrible with a full Brocks exhaust compared to this bikes sound.
At this point I think it might be cooler to just not do the clear clutch cover. Literally everyone does it. I’m also tired of the old school exhaust I want to be able to hit loud Mode or quiet mode, it’s 2023. Gorgeous bike though. What did it cost you? What’s peak Ducati design/beauty to you, like which generation?
I love the clear covers. No different from everyone having Rizoma mirrors or everyone having the same exhaust systems. lol I think it adds a nice touch. All personal taste.
@@Do.Christ no idea, but they are pretty much useless anyway, as they vibrate like hell. i recently bought a 1199 tricolore and the mirrors are good to know roundabout if there is something behind you, it helps even more when the cars behind you have their lights on
Not bad and you can still get it serviced at any Ducati dealer. I did my own work but got my parts, oil and filter from the dealer. I was a little concerned about the age but there are people still rocking 996’s lol.
If that exhaust is as quiet as it sounds it might be a perfect balance. I had a yoshi race pipe on my ninja 400 back in the day and it was so loud, if I ride without a helmet it hurt my ears it was so loud with some revs
@@itsmeericb hey did you check if you have the latest firmware for your GoPro ? I have a few versions of including a 10, I’ve always had overheating issues and occasionally also stuff like this. But the shutting off is really irritating. I try to run with the front screen off to save battery life, so I rely on the blinking red LED to see if it’s still recording. But sometimes I forget. It’s a pain.
Those grips are ugly imo…just me? What do you mean when you say “this came along”. Did you get a great deal or something ? You kinda said that like you got an offer you couldn’t refuse and you couldn’t get another for that price if you wanted to? Am I misreading that ?
@@itsmeericb don’t do this to me come on give me the dirts details I need to know. What did you spend??? Bought it from a TH-camr or??? Could I find one in that condition for what you paid?
Lol. wortless mirrors. this is aducati thing. I have an 848 evo and it was exactly the same thing. first, they are too small, second, they are ugly as hell (on such a beautiful machine). thrid, they shhhhaaaaaake like crazy. so it's like you can't even use them. It's mental.

Wow thanks for your input! Yes this bike is a beast and has its positives and negatives. So far I’ve enjoyed it.

1299 need only to be tuned: mine with FM exaust have around 200 wheel horsepower and is a wild beast. Totally different character than stock
What a beautiful machine!
Congratulations on the new bike.
Thanks!

@@itsmeericb oh I love them too, I just meant they’re so common it might actually be more unique to not have clear covers at this point
when you mentioned the mirrors, i remember my test ride with the 1299, exact same thing, couldnt believe it

Little over 6k for a 2012
@@itsmeericb not bad at all, im trying to get one with similar mileage.
You got a little service due at 7500 then a really nice (read expensive lol!!) at 15,000. They’re so worth it tho
I an shocked it has the stock fluids reservoirs. The owner must have been shunned at Ducati meet ups for leaving it that way😂
😂
