Some songs in the remix are perfect, but others like the boss theme kinda disappointed me :( The og Boss theme has this really cool snare like sound that sounds like the Asteroids shoot sound that I loved so much I made a snare sound based off it. Good video anyways ❤
Interesting, I've heard folks dislike Stage 1 theme a lot but I think you're the first one to single out the boss themes as disappointing. I enjoy them personally, but the whole og soundtrack has a special sound and feel to it that can't really be outclassed, only done differently.
the unique boss remixes are a super nice touch. stage 3 remixes are so fire I kinda wish yebisu303 would do the whole game how do you feel about the arrange modes in general? I think they're kinda cool learning tools and arrange L has an interesting difficulty curve kinda like they compressed two loops into one nice clear good channel ty for sharing \m/
Yeah, I really enjoy the new boss music! I feel like it's the weakest part of the original ost. Not that the og track is bad, but it's pretty short and repetitive and you end up hearing it hundreds of times. With the remixes I'm pumped every time. I'm kinda torn on the arranges. I like how Shotia's has sparse but fast bullets, but removing the chaining altogether makes it a bit too simple. Exy's feels a little random, like it doesn't quite have an identity of it's own, though it's fun to just have a loop 2 mode. Leinyan's is by far my favorite. I feel like B-Leinyan is kind of a missed opportunity in the original game, the weird rapid shot feels fun to use but having to do recovery kinda ruins everything. It's cool how in the arrange you are at max power all the time and the laser cancels add a subtle twist. Oh, and I wish the arranges didn't have those huge no miss bonuses at the end. Not dying is never as interesting a challenge as mastering other scoring techniques. Still, they're a fun bonus to have.
I just logged into PSN to add some funds to my JP account and decided to check if there was a store page for the game and... There it was, available for purchase :)
Haha, I'm guessing the "early release" was just Japanese timezones :) sadly I can't play much right now because of RSI, but I couldn't stop myself from giving it a go! Going to delve deeper once my hands are better.
No earlier arranges, sadly... Personally, I don't really mind because I much prefer the new remix to the older ones, but it's a bummer they're not getting preserved in this release.
Same here. International shipping to UK takes a while. I'm not going to watch the rest of the play through as the first few bars of the new soundtrack got me a little too excited and I want to enjoy it with my first run. Excitement mode engaged!

I was kinda meh about it when they showcased it in the M2 livestream, but it's really grown on me since I've been able to experience the whole thing. The original is of course unsurpassable, but I've also listened to it so many times I'm ready for some new stuff :)
I feel like it's similar to some of the other M2 arranges, where it's easier to survive but you have work to get a good score. You get huge bonuses for every extra life at the end, so I guess the simplest way to score is to die as little as possible? Which is kinda lame, not a huge fan of mandatory no missing... Or maybe you need to maximize those bullet cancels?
Ngl, I'm not much a fan of this new OST. Stage 1 specially sounds pretty bad imo. And even though there are some good tracks like Boss2, stage 4 and 5, I feel like most of the remixes don't fit well with DOJ's mood/vibe This mode itself seems fun, although I don't have much of an idea of how it works lol. Hope to see more videos of all the other modes and content this port brings!

Saxophones on Hibachi are fire :) I do agree that it has a very different mood and is probably better suited for the amped-up arrange mode than the sombre main game. But yeah, I need to listen to the whole OST more before final assessment.

No death until Hibachi, that’s nice! Just be sure to point blank him after every death and each time you hyper.
