  • Recipe for making fried bakes which are used for making sandwiches with fried shark or slatfish buljol. As part of the classic Sandwich found in Trinidad and Tobago called Bake and Shark, these fried bakes are absolutely delicious and can be classified as a fried bread as well.

Chris: I am been following you for years. Love your show, you are so clear and make everything seems so easy.
Not sure if you have done this, but here is a test for you and all those cooking "stars" on you tube:
Could someone please try and make bakes with whole wheat flour. For the sake of our health: obesity, diabetes etc, white flour is killing us. If it cannot be done with 100 whole wheat flour, at least do 50% white and 50% whole wheat - or 75% whole wheat and 25% white..
Not sure about the commenters, but when I eat white flour, I cannot go to the bathroom, it binds

Needs some sugar and no need to flip sll that much you go to to deep fry and take a spoon and continue throwing oil over the top until it rises.

      @skinnydee1886 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      trinibutterfly2007
You don't have to put yeast. If you should use this recipe you would see what I mean.
      2 cups all purpose flour.
      2 tsp baking powder.
      1/4 tsp salt.
      1/8 tsp sugar.
      1 tbls butter.
Mix all the above, then knead, with 1 cup of water, and proceed to make.
You can also omit the butter, sugar, and salt if you've health problems.
I usually make this for an old lady with health problems. I only use flour, baking powder, and water; it tastes good, and puffs up very big; I also eat whatever I cook for her, and it's very good!

Love your stuff. Question do you have a recipe or can you try to put somthing together for people on Gluten Free diets. Bakes and Roti. Ive tried Roti but its very hard to keep together without using some all purpose flour(which is a nono) with rice or other non gluten flour.

      Clouds of Beauty
No you don't have to use all those things, if you don't. You can only use:
      2 tsp baking powder
      2 cups all purpose flour
      1/4 tsp salt
      1/8 tsp sugar
      1 cup of water
Knead to smooth dough, and proceed to make the bakes.
You can also omit the salt, and sugar for "health reasons.

Hi Mr. Chris...that bake recipe is "da bomb"! But hear dis nuh...can you ask your Mummy if we could add a little bit of whole wheat flour? We done eating the bake made with white flour that sending our blood sugar high, so is it possible to make with a little bit? And, how much so? Do you have to add more raising agents? I have so many questions, but I am certain you will find a way to tweak this for the better!
