  • Structures in the landscape... a 5 minute slideshow containing a selection of 24 of my black and white landscape photographs. These are landscape photographs which contain a structure or structures, as diverse as lighthouses to fisherman huts and stone barns. There are a splattering of cottages, a couple of castles, a navigation point and even an old abbey which at some point had been turned in to a windmill and is now a ruin. Relax, switch-off and escape the real world for just 5 minutes and immerse yourself . #landscape #photography #outdoors
All the images in this slideshow are available as prints via my website www.jduckettimages,.co.uk

Absolutely stunning work! The wind was a great touch - it made me feel like I was actually there. I would’ve watched more than 5 minutes. Haunting, yet serene & peaceful.

John, I've just run across these wonderful images. Thank you for the hard work of sharing and publishing your work. I find these powerful, thoughtful images that inspire me to also delve more into landscape work. Not only are these images powerful, but your silent slideshow is also a breath of fresh air. I also admire the kind and healthy way you acknowledge people's comments. Acknowledging people without being defensive is a hard-earned skill. For me, your work shows a wonderful love of craft and a sense of awe. Thank you for the inspiration.

Wonderful mood. Some are reminiscent of infrared photos taken on film mid 20 century.

Lovely images and I appreciate the silence too. You have very good compositional skills and a mastery of black and white. I presume you are using film?

Very nice photos! I'd love to see more some other time. Even though I photograph a lot in colour my livingroom only have B&W-photos on the walls.

Some really nice images. Many however, are undermined by excessive manipulation and lack of shadow detail.

Hi Marc. Thank you for commenting. These are all taken as raw files with digital cameras so yes I do have to process them to black and white, and in some cases an ir effect. Sorry if you think they are overdone. As I say thank you for commenting and seeing that if nothing else the composition is ok.
      Thank you Marc

Hello Robert and thank you.. some were from either a Canon 5d or 1Dsmk2 with a canon 17-40mm lens. Others with a Fuji XT1, or what I currently use a Fuji XT3 with a Fuji 18-105mm lens

@@TheSilentPhotographer. thank you - I do also have an x-t3 and used an the canon which I sold when switching to Fuji. I use only prime. I feel a kind of uncomfortable with zoom lenses but they are very versatile for landscape Photography of course. Great work. New subscriber and follower 😀

@@robertoposa1120 hi Robert. I went through a stage of only using prime. I still have a 35mm f1.2 which I love, but no longer use for landscapes…

they are probably good images, but they all come across as just MEH because of how you edited them. Them all have the exact same "feel" to them because you have edited them all the same. they all have singular area of light, and very heavy vignetting to them. because of that, it suppresses any individual "life" that the image would have on its own. they all just blur together and become this mass of "blech". there is nothing dynamic about them. It made me want to stop watching halfway through, because nothing was changing, they were literally all the same thing, just different images. You cannot edit all your images the same, it just does not work. each image has its own life and its own story, and requires editing that represents its life and story. yeah, I know this probably comes across as harsh, but sometimes that is what is needed. sorry, not just bashing on your stuff for the sake of bashing, just getting a point across and hopefully it will help you re evaluate your methods and your art.
