It maybe arbitray to someone like us. Who has played pokemon like forever but i feel like for a pokemon researcher every move is worth learning about.
One of the many questions one can ask is
Is is a water tyoe move or normal type move?
Is it just a hop or a bounce.
Is there a greater impact while in water vs while on land
Is there a water like effect after the move is used.
      Etc etc.

thats understandable that nobody wanna grind a pokemon and then give to someone else, while knowing it got stronger when u send to them. it was quite fun finding how pokemon evolve , without internet.

I love the game but I still have a few issues
    1) Inability to travel between areas, Its a bit annoying that I have to return to Jubilife village before setting out to another destination instead of being able to travel between areas directly.
    2) Moves cannot hit multiple opponents. When you are being ganged up on by 3-4 Pokémon, moves like Earthquake & Surf that used to hit everyone would of been so useful in this game, but nope, you can only attack one at a time.
    3) If the opponent gets to use multiple Pokémon at once why cant I? (Looking at you Ingo with Basculegion /Weirdeer / Kleavor)

For me personally the removal of abilites i see them not being there simply as in the past all pokemon didnt have abilities with the exception technically be Arceus and Regigigas. As time went on the pokemon obtained abilites as the "worlds" of both people and pokemon became more imtertwined. So they devolped them as a defence mechanism. With some abilites not being seen as abilites at first like blaze, chlorophyll, levatate and swift swim.

The only major problems I have with PLA are the shortcomings of the Ride Pokémon:
Wyrdeer can be hard to control when using the dash, since I also have to keep adjusting the camera frequently.
Ursaluna can be annoying to use when searching for treasures, especially with how easy it is to lose a trail, how tedious it can be to find it again, how you can run past the spot, and the dance can be troublesome when in the vicinity of an aggressive Pokémon.
It's annoying how the game cycles to Basculegion when going through a literal puddle, and it can be hard to steer as well.
Sneasler is a bit too delayed when attaching or detaching from a climbing object but jumping onto a tree or rock instead of picking up the item right next to it is certainly the bigger drawback.
But Braviary is the one I have the biggest beef with. Firstly, who was the genius that decided to include a giant bird as a mount, but to then make it never be able to fly up in altitude ever, only down? It's because of this that has resulted in me cussing out the balloon races more times than I'd like to admit. Secondly, why can't we throw pokeballs when on Braviary? We have the means to now get close enough to the flying wild Pokémon to give them a kiss on the cheek, but we're still forced to toss (and miss, thus, waste) Feather, Wing, and Jet balls from random cliffs until we either catch them, run out, or give up.

the ursaring evolution is complete bs, especially beause in many areas you can't even see the moon because of the clouds. Also the brick you need to give it has a description that clearly hints at a fire pokemon, but it's used for an earth bear. Very annoying

    • @dorkenspache8353
      @dorkenspache8353 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@@clemdelaclem It says it is a block of muddy material that is used as fuel for burning when it is dried out. That clearly hints that the thing is made of earth and mud. Even then you should have gotten the Ursaluna ride by the time you can get Teddiursa and Ursaring, and seeing its appearance and ability, you would be able to infer that Ursaring needs that item to evolve. But it takes a bit more inference to know that it needs to be a Full Moon in order to evolve it. It is tricky to figure that one out, but it is possible. Also considering the only renewable way to get a Peat Block is through Ursaluna is another hint.
I should say though with the recent Daybreak update and massive mass outbreaks, most of these difficult evolutions become a one-time thing since you can now catch these mons in the wild and usually only need to evolve one for the Pokedex

Personally for #7 I disagree, I kind of think its cool that certain pokemon have a mini-quest or some type of goofy and silly way to evolve like Alcremie, and Malamar. It just should give you a hint of how they evolve. I'd personally reduce the amount of times the move is needed to be used for those Hisuian evolutions, but to be fair a lot of evolving a pokemon is just leveling them up, if it would require enough experience to level them up just by using that move X times, then it's actually less of a grind.

      @noireccentric6453 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

reduce the number of times you have to use the move or even just provide better hints at the evolution method. unique and new evolution methods are always welcome, unless there's absolutely no way to figure them out.
in example: farfetch'd evolving after landing 3 crits in a battle is super neat method of evolution. one that could absolutely result in a cool moment for the player where their pokemon just suddenly evolves after likely doing well in battle. there just needs to be SOME way to figuring out those kinds of methods. unlocking more information on a pokemon such as how it might evolve by researching them would make a lot of sense

You know what I think would've looked AMAZING for the graphics in PLA that would've covered up the incomplete look? The textures/filters in the Valkyria Chronicles games that makes everything in the game look like a painting. It would've made this game that's meant to take hundreds of years in the past look the part even more than it already does. And I'm all for the unique evolution methods, but the amount of times you need to do it is tedious. Like, for Wyrdeer, I would've had it use Stantler's Pyshield Bash once in both agile and Stony style. It would've been unique, but not tedious.

Technically, the in game definition of wing and jet balls are that they are used better for flyers, like those mons that are flying over a particular portion of the map, and ONLY fly. I understand your frustration, but the game doesn’t ever tell you to use them like you’re using.
I like to think the reason why there are so many fewer moves is because this game isn’t focused on battles like the other games are. The main quest of this game is not to become champion, it’s to fill the Pokédex. Not only that, but this game is set hundreds of years before the actual Sinnoh games, so of course the battle system is going to be much different than it is today.
I don’t really mind looking stuff up to finish the game, so finding out about evolution stuff is not a problem for me.

I think the reason the exp has changed to the end of the battle is so that people don't have the option of just throwing yourself at a battle over and over again and you'll eventually win. Unsure how I feel about it, there are so few traditional battles that I don't really mind.
And evolution methods, I think they did them in a somewhat clever way. Taking Overqwil for example, Qwilfish's dex entry requires you to use barb barrage 40 times, and strong style moves 40 times. This means the most effective way to get it done, is to use strong style barb barrage. You need to do it 20 times for it to evolve. Clever way to have it where people can figure it out on their own. That being said, I agree. I think it'd be fine if the requirement was needing to use the signature move 20 times, but the fact that it has to be strong or agile style depending on the Pokémon definitely makes it too difficult to figure out, at least without a hint from an NPC along the way.

To address the former, why not come up with a compromise? EXP is still earned at the end of the battle, but either:

      2. Fainted Pokémon recieve half the usual EXP.

In regards to the graphics, I also think it’s good to point out how all of the pokemon have been given better textures, too! Plant pokemon have veins on their leaves, reptilian and fish pokemon have scales, furry pokemon have furrier textures, and metalic pokemon reflect light like polished metal. I think the pokemon all look super good in this game, and the moves look excellent like you said. I think the reason I haven’t seen a single “this move animation is lazy!” Like we saw when swsh were new is because of how dynamic the battles are. You can move around and watch from different angles and your pokemon run up to the enemy to hit them with physical moves.
It sucks that the whole game couldn’t be as visually pleasing as the pokemon and the battles are… I agree most of the graphics do look unfinished, and it’s always a worthwhile effort to try and make the game look better if possible, I just personally don’t mind all that much, especially considering that at least some stuff looks very good in my opinion. Get three of a specific material from each area to give to the old man. 1. The Fog - Agree
    2. Pokeballs - Agree (My pokeball target circle is not covering (ex. tree) at all why is it hitting. If i am over the tree then it should hit the tree)
    3. Graphics - If it is not affecting functionality of the game, idc
They could be better, they could be worse
All games have bugs.....deal with it?
What more do you want from a story? Like seriously? Never understood and never will understand this gripe
Catching Mons in water - It's annoying, ultimately it's hard to tell what actually is happening when the pokeball is thrown towards pokemon in the water but I agree that interaction should be fixed
    New Pokemon are New Pokemon??????
    4. In most pokemon games you are told what is about to be sent out by your opponent and are able to switch if you want to, in an actually pokemon battle you would not actually know that and based on a pokemon's speed it would probably definitely hit first and maybe multiple times. In game though it could feel unfair and I understand that
    5. Agree- In an actual pokemon fight, exp would be gained as the pokemon is fighting
    6. Agree - Additionally when they give shiny pokemon through way of gifts or specific events I would rather them put them in the game having to do some special task/tasks in order to encounter them as shiny or to be able to encounter and shiny hunt them
    7. Well getting exp is what all pokemon need to evolve (save for items/stones) and that can be grindy if not for exp candies. So to make the certain conditions be a little grindy is not all that big of deal. It also reflects probably the pokemon lore wise or even anatomically actually making it kind of cool to have to evolve that way
    8. Think of any of the pokemon professors in the anime and how they end up learning anything, they do it by repeating/grinding the same processes everyday
    9. Agree
    10. I agree with the moves, why leave them out? The idea though behind the pokemon being left out is that the more pokemon you put into the games, the less reason you actually have to put them in future games, because people already have them.

I am happy there is no Charizard. Also if you think about the story behind Pokémon Arceus, it is in the past, when people feared Pokémon, Poke balls where just invented. I mean if you look at it the culture of Pokémon battling was just starting out. People where skeptical about the poke balls. So Many moves would have been discovered much later, people would limit how much they used Pokémon's. And rather they didn't use them at all. Thus cutting moves do make sense, I mean when you start playing Pokémon Legends Arceus only team galaxy really has Poke balls so people where severely limited in the amount of Pokémon's they could train thus many moves might not be found out because of this limit. Remember if this was a game that was set in the present then yes it is an issue. and also don't forget the Pokémon professor writes all of the entries in the game. There isn't even talk about Pokémon leagues and an Pokémon association. And being only able to cary 6 Pokémon might be because of the limits of the Poke balls themselves and not rules. because it later became a rule.
