Big Cat, I realize this is almost a year old but I just started following and playing a little catch up. A trick I found for drying hash browns is use a salad spinner first and then one final with paper towels is all that is needed. I also use simply potatoes in the refrigerated section with the eggs at my store. Might try a comparison with those if you haven’t. Great griddle show and I enjoy your comparisons.

I will share this with you I saved my bacon fat drippings and use that with my hash browns along with some green onions a garlic to change it up a little bit

Not being a critic, I find it easier to use cloth towels, yes it is a bit more effort because you will have to wash the towels but I have to wash anyway. It just seems to take a long time with paper towels. I know not everyone wants to go that route but for those who might it is worth trying.

Thanks for the video. I’ve cooked fresh hash browns hundreds of times on the stovetop. I just got a Blackstone Griddle and am going to try cooking hash browns for the first time tomorrow morning. I’ve watched several different videos on hash browns. Getting them very dry is key. Instead of using 20 paper towels, a pastry cloth works really well. Thanks for the tips on cooking them on the griddle!

There’s a brand called simply potatoes that I use. They are not frozen and I simply put them on the griddle right out of the bag. Good job comparing the two, and opinions will always vary on this. Personally for me is too much of a hassle with peeling and shredding by hand for the taste difference you get. Great video brother!!
