5 years ago, i started as choral conductor. I used to get nervous for about 2 months. But now I have no problem at all, i could say, its a wonderful feeling to lead the choir.

This was helpful. I am new to handbells at church. I have basic music reading skills but definitely needed help with remembering note values. Never had to follow a conductor before so your video really helped me.

Could you do a video using the wand while singing? In a choir setting I looked at the director and wasn’t sure why but now I know. Thank you John!

Yes, more very simple tips but over and over. Maybe use music. I know music and have played music at church. I have Son at other functions. But now I find myself conducting acquire. And I feel like I'm flopping around. Lol. This was very helpful but as a newbie - pretend I am five years old and will do great. Lol.

Hey,John your video is really really helpful. I knew 3/4 & 4/4 earlier little bit but I learnt many more from your video. Also, I'm not sure how you move your hand of 1/4 and 2/4 . I wish you draw from a chart and show us. Please share the book link to purchase too. I was appointed choir master in another city recently. This will help me. All in all, Thank you.

amzn.to/38m8nTG this is the book i used for college. The 1 and 2 patterns are very important too! Searching TH-cam/google for the patterns may be helpful! I might make a video too but under the weather right now. And please let me know if you have any questions.

I have been taking voice lessons and singing in the choir for a year. Great video. Thank you for the video.
Someday, I want to conduct a choir singing Jesus Is by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
... Bugs Binny was my childhood inspiration. 😂

Being a choir conductor is tough! I took conducting classes in college... and the more preparation I did, the less nervous I felt.

Choral conductors use their hands. Instrumental conductors use a baton.
