I’m 20 and I’m a student at the University of Ottawa in the BA in Music program and my dream is to become an orchestral conductor, hopefully completing a masters degree in conducting at the end of my education. Thank you for doing this, I recently guest conducted the orchestra at my school and I learned a lot about what I really need to work on, and already this has helped me a bunch. I can’t wait to see the other videos!

I am 18 now and about to finish High school. I wanted to ask you how you a progressing in your schooling because my dream is to also become a orchestral conductor. I was wondering if you had any words of wisdom you may be willing to share.

How big of a geek do you have to be to become a conductor?

That is definitely not what it is, there is so much to know and pay attention to, the exact tempo of the piece, time signatures, queues, etc
