- The Volkswagen Golf is the most successful European car for more than four decades. A new chapter in the history of this best-seller begins with the world premiere of the eighth VW Golf - digitalised, connected, and intuitive to operate. Never before has a Golf been so progressive. With hybrid versions launched at the same time, it is electrifying the compact class. Its digital interior enables a new dimension of intuitive operation. Speeds of up to 210 km/h are possible with assisted driving. It is the first Volkswagen to use swarm intelligence from traffic via Car2X, meaning it can warn against hazards on an anticipatory basis. Its world premiere takes place in Wolfsburg, where the Golf was invented, and where it has been built and refined for the last 45 years. The Volkswagen Golf Mk8 will be available on the market in December 2019.

I dont know why people say this infotainment is bad, it looks quite good
I loved my old Golf, but this new one seems much less good. I can't get rid of the distracting display; it won't let me do what I want with the lights; there's less room in the back and in the boot. I can't understand how they took a great car and made it worse.
Good evening friend, do you know how to help me unlock the infotainment of the Golf 8 2023 so I can watch videos through a pendrive while the car is moving?

If the police see you using this they should pull you over the same as if you were using a mobile phone. It’s ridiculous... no actual buttons for the basic and common functions means you have to take your eyes off the road a lot to go through the touchscreen and because you can’t feel the buttons you have to look. VW are laughing because they save money by putting everything through the touchscreen and sell it as a feature when in fact it’s detrimental. I recently ordered a new car after having two GTDs, never will I have another VW due to this touch screen... BMW and iDrive for me now 👍
Exactly how vw is getting away with this ,i drove one very dangerous ,just turning heating up a down was hard,i could not cope with this system or the tuch buttons,i can see loads of accidents in the future, this system is much more dangerous than using mobile phone, your right you have to look at screen for to long and to Manny actions required
Especially when you have to tuch the icon several times to macke it work,vw have lost the plot
OH AND DONT LISTEN TO VW YOU CAN USE THE VOICE RECOGNITION TO DO THING, watch the reviews, it dosent work,
@@benderdiver indeed. Most of the voice recognition systems are very poor across the brands from the reviews I’ve seen - don’t recognise speech and/or very slow to react. They’re just gimmicks currently. It’s such a shame because I loved my previous VWs... great cars. But this is a step too far. At least on some of the EVs like Tesla and the Mustangs the screens are big enough that they display multiple sections without having to scroll back and through. Still not ideal though because you have to look all the time you are using them which encourages your eyes to stray for longer.
So VW et al... what’s wrong with having buttons or dials for the climate control, driving mode , heated seats etc - apart from decreasing your profits?! I hope this bites them in a big way (customer feedback, not by anyone getting hurt) so that they go back to having proper buttons.

voice recognition to work,maybe you could open and close the windows itwould be safer,just one button press,

About the cheap hard plastics,missing draws, stick to hold bonnet upon felt in door pockets,cheaper pumps for fuel when you turn engine of you will hear the pump under back seat,and the constant low wine of the injector pump on driver side,yes its cheaper parts,did you get a discount for the price of

Brilliant car, now owned it for two weeks, my wife loves it , way better to drive than the her previous golfs (maybe bar the gti) she used to own and the 1.5 mild hybrid is a lovely unit. Also now used to the tech and it works perfectly even though we do miss having dials and knobs. The independent rear suspension on the 150bhp model makes it a very comfortable and fun car to drive.
I’m sorry you got the stripped down cheap golf but at least you’re helping vw pay there diesel gate fine I have two on my drive 2018 2019 but I will not be getting the 8 I have only seen two on the road and just one I’d in e u the

Just picked up a Mk8 Style.
After trying for some time to get the NAV to display on the Virtual Cockpit, I gave up and called the dealer...
Turns out, my model doesn't allow for this feature! Absolute madness as the hardware is clearly capable of it.
I'm massively disappointed in VW.
My previous cars, (Golf Mk7.5, A1, Q3, Leon) all allowed for this!
Had I known, I genuinely would not have gotten the Golf!
Hi my friend had same issue,took it back they deredgisterd it with dvla and he got a diferent car
we have two 7.1 on drive, we were shocked when
we drove the 8,so dissapionted,we love are golfs
we buy two every 3 years,not this time,we are trying diferent cars,put your foot down.im sorry vw

8 brand new golf there are two on my drive now,we washed critical reviews,but decided to make are own minds up,yep the reviews were right, cheap ,striped out noisy and 2.0 ltr tdi underpowerd,its not the fact the cd has gone and the draws under seats the gass strut under bonnet the dash draws the slide over cup holders, the felt lining in
dore pockets,covers over door locks,the cheap hard plastics in the back,ect ect
Its the fact that its not premium any more
i would rather pay more than have the golf made cheap,compare your to a bmw a Lexus merc or even a Toyota or Hyundai of the same price,or lease deal you will be shocked at the better features [that work]

@@roblippiatt874 you remind me of my older brother,the one with the big head,has loads of parties and barbacues,spends his mortgage money trying to impress,yes he has lost three house this way,and he buys old high milage cars then puts private’s plates on,big head big mouth big ego,no house drives a 12 year old Honda with private plates, and Hass no friends,you will have to get one of those stikers on your golf

I detest this car. MK7 was a dream. 30 degree heat and air con decides to stop working. Bring back the knobs! SatNav is pretty useless as it only goes one way so if you want to take B roads you can't, it tries to take you back miles via motorway!! In my opinion it is dangerous having just a digital display distracting you. Old iPhone won't connect to CarPlay or when it does you soon lose it again. Such a frustrating car. Seats are hard too. Yuk!
sorry vw have disapionted you,and thousands of outhr people,my local dealer tells me they just cant sell to previus golf owners,ans so manny just get rejected

This system is so ridiculously terrible.
Cheap looking tiny screen, slow response and shiny black plastic. VW really cost saved on this one. Shame would have upgraded to the mk8 but the infotainment is awful.
