Hello, Harish sir. Loved this video. After watching u r all Goa videos from Episode 1 to present. From north to south goa, My point of view about goa has changed a lot. Never knew Goa had so much good things to offer other than fish & Fenny. In todays video loved the desert you showed the patoli & other items. The Title of this episode is perfect. Really sir u r exploring goa so nicely keep the hard work u r doing to bring all those good things for us. Thank u harish sir!!

The steamed dessert patholi is widely popular in kerala. Its called 'ada' or 'ilayappam'. The leaf used is either banana leaf or vayana leaf. Rice flour, coconut, and jaggery with cardamom is steamed like in video.
Another steamed dessert is popular in trivandrum called 'terali' where terali leaf is used but the flour, banana and jaggery are mixed together and then steamed. It is very delicious and smells heavenly.
Though its hard to find it in restaurants, you can get it at any home in kerala.

The patoli you ate there is actually originated from Odisha. It's only available on the 8th day from kartika purnima which is called "Enduri Pitha" and the day is called " Prathamastami " , on that day the eldest son/daughter gets worshiped as we all do in rakhyabandhan. The only difference between the patoli is the batter here we use the batter of idli and different varieties of stuffings inside that. This year it's going to be observed on 30th November.
If possible come to Odisha and enjoy the delicacy.

visa2explore you can refer the wilkipedia to know about the rituals on Prathamastami.
And try to come on that day as at that time the hockey world cup would be on full swing you could enjoy a lot during the stay , as only for that sports event the state government is also organising a lot of tour packages and food festivals as well as Street carnivals . I think no difficulties you could get during your visit , you could refer the odisha government website for further information. Please try to come

Good episode, Harishji. Just good to know stuff, in West Bengal, we have similar dish like Patoli and Alle Belle. Patoli which is Pitha, a dessert made with rice flour, coconut and jaggery, but that is not wrapped with turmeric leaf. Alle Belle here is Patisapta made with a batter of rice flour and maida, coconut and jaggery. Normally we eat these at winters. Cause the jaggery used in both these dishes is palm jaggery, in bengali we call it khejur gur. Your passion for traditional food is adorable. Great job as always.👍👌

Nice video as always...The Patoli you had is known as Haladi Patra Pitha or Enduri Pitha in Odisha...The procedure of the recipe is almost same..And it's a signature dish of Odia cuisine...We normally have it on the occasion of a festival called Prathamashtami which falls on the 8th day of Shukl Paksh of Hindu Month of Margasirsa or Agrahayana also known as Margasira in Odia...

Moidechim kellim or moira banana is similar or same as Nendra kaya which is use for making banana chips in Kerala. It was introduced in Goa by the Fransciscan fathers or priests from Kerala. Just an additional info. Because I am a konkani who has lived in Kerala for 17 years.

We Goans prepare patolis during festival. Christians use coconut jaggery which is dark brown in color n Hindus use the white jaggery which you ate
You missed filhos which are basically pancakes another tea time sweet dish also tizan
