Excellent, simplified, process Mike. No fancy tools, just a very simple procedure. Those sliders aren't cheap, then add the powder coat and things start adding up. If you're going to off road gotta have em. 👍 Wished Loren would have helped, maybe next time.
I have been watching all of your 4Runner videos, as I am in the process of purchasing one. I am going back and forth on the amount of lift I want to begin with because I will be keeping the stock size tire (BFG KO2). In this video, do you have the 1.75/1.5 lift? Trying to get an idea of what different lifts look like.
After you drilled the 5/16" holes, did you have to thread the holes or were the bolts self threading? Hopefully the powder coating job included the proper prep to keep rust from forming under it. I don't think I would powder coat a slider because of the fact that the rocks or trees you hit will scrape it off. A good flat black would let you spray over the dings. Thanks for the videos you do.
They were self-threading. I took it to the beach this past week and did see a bit of rust under the step plates but fortunately I live in a dry climate so further rust is unlikely. Probably should have removed those prior to powder coating though. I agree it will be a bummer if they get scraped but I already had one small nick that I sprayed with black undercoating and it blends right in. I'll plan to maintain with that should further scrapes occur.

Looks good. I like how it still gives the visual ground clearance too.

Great looking Surfski ~ is that an epic?
Yep!
What torque spec did you use for the sliders?
