Thanks for yiour honest review and feedback! We appreciate you highlighting the differences of a Tacoma installation. We'd highly recommend installing your bulkhead seal, this gasket plays a big part in the seal of the front edge of your bed - in the long run you'll be glad you did! Other than that, looks great!
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We're happy to help! 👊
Thank you. Love the cover and have recommended to others. I will get that bulkhead seal installed. The cover still does a great job keeping everything secured and dry.
It's not good having to secure the last panel by engaging two levers vs. a single one-hand mechanism that is accessible at/near the tailgate. Cargo could interfere with access to the levers as well as engaging them. Diamondback needs to change that.
agreed... you also need to make sure to close the tonneau before the tailgate whereas with other covers you can close the tailgate and just lock in the tonneau. What a terrible design, otherwise I would buy one... Also those little brackets look super cheesy. If you are hauling a trailer it also makes it more difficult to get cargo out of the back you need to hop over the trailer to unlatch each side.
waiting on my cover...I daily drive a 2019 Tacoma Off Road Double Cab - bought it new and now have 245K miles, many in 4WD. Enjoy your first truck - it's a good one, and I've owned a bunch (I'm old - Boomer Gen).
I’m glad to hear the great experience with your truck and hope my experience is similar! Thanks for checking out the video. I think you will really like the cover.
If yours is a 5 foot bed could you give the distance from one pannel folded to the tailgate. I have a Snapon drop front tool box and need to know if I can open only one pannel to open the tool box. Thanks
please detail on the watertightness of the cover much appreciated. also can you link to that video you said someone posted about the cover
I will do an update to this video once I get more experience with the cover. I have also added a link to Mikes video in the description.
I'm deciding between this switchback and the HD. I prefer the HD but for the fact that this one, the Switchback, is completely smooth down the center rear to front, while the HD has that locking mechanism on the outside rear center and to the side center in the front, making it a bit more difficult to slide heavy things across in some circumstances. I do imagine that with the clamps in the middle and a locking mechanism on both ends, the HD might offer a bit tighter seal all the way around, but I suspect both are pretty darn good in that regard. Both look awesome, but leaning towards the HD for that extra strength and weight capacity. I would definitely get the HD over the SE, since the only difference is the weight capacity, both have those external locks. But dang, what great covers all 3 are. Well done, Diamondback. And thanks for a good video, SGFAdventures.
Thank you for checking out the video!will have a video on the SE soon.
what size Falken tires you put on the factory rim?
265/70/16
It would be helpful to see a video of it opening all the way. You only flipped the 1st segment?
I will do an additional video showing it fold all the way.
@@SGFAdventures 1 year later still no video... doubtful!
I would be buying one of these covers if it wasn't for the rear layer chest. What I carry wouldn't allow for them.
Oops didn't proof read.I was talking about the rear closing latches
where in the country are you? looks like wiregrass
